It was our first time going out to eat since the Pandemic started. We couldn’t have picked a better place. Not only were their safety precautions first rate but the food was amazing. Safety was our first concern and they checked that box. All of our meals were amazing with the portions more than generous. We were a party of 6 and our table was in the corner at least 10 feet away from the nearest table. Our drinks were never left empty for long. Definitely check this place out if you’re visiting the area.
Great food, good service. Best fried pickles in town!
Great lunch. Reservations needed. We had several items and even more sides -- all were delicious.
Always a great local go to for brunch or lunch. Right in the heart of downtown which makes it super accessible to walk anywhere downtown.
This is our go to place when we find one in the area.
Great food and service! Couldn’t have been better! Highly recommend the shrimp and grits, Brussels sprouts and friend chicken!
It is always a pleasant experience at Tupelo Honey. TH is in a vibrant section of downtown with lots of people and music around. Inside TH it was busy, but not overcrowded.
The kitchen crew is fast and efficient. The servers are all very friendly and know their jobs well. Managerial is doing a great job during tough times to keep the restaurant enjoyable.
The food is very, very good. Their Pork Dusted Chicken is excellent. They have a very decent wine list and of course just about anything else you may want to drink.
Always a good experience, there is a lot of hype around this place and a little over priced but solid experience every time. Chicken is good but not out of this world.
Fantastic meal for Mother’s Day weekend. Food was delicious and with brunch served all day on weekends there was something for everyone. The biscuits for a cause, to help employees during the pandemic, were melt in your mouth good and their signature Mac and cheese waffle and fried chicken tossed in sriracha honey sauce was flawless.
Our server was so personable and sweet! The food was amazing. Really enjoyable way to spend my graduation from graduate school :)
This is a terrific restaurant for all ages and for those who enjoy traditional Southern Home cooking. The staff was terrific, in the meals are unbelievably good. Just be aware that the helpings are large, which means there easily shareable between 2 people.
We love Tupelo’s, this was our second trip to Asheville and the first place we ate! The breakfast was a delicious feast! Molly our waitress was fabulous and helped us celebrate my husbands 60th birthday!
Tupelo Honey may be "known for their biscuits" but if you miss their fried green tomatoes or spicy cauliflower bites...you are definitely missing out. The sweet & spicy chicken was amazing and our son raved about the Mac n cheese waffles (they disappeared before anyone else could try them). The grits were cooked perfectly and the collards were fantastically southern! Make reservations if you are in the area.
I really enjoyed the food at Tupelo Honey. Fried chicken is great.
We met an old friend on a Friday for lunch at Tupelo Honey. As locals, we haven't been to the downtown store in years, due to parking and long wait times. I was thrilled to be able to snag a reservation and then to change it when our friend was running late. Maybe due to the weirdness still out there with Covid, it wasn't terribly busy.
We were seated promptly and greeted right away. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and started catching-up on the last 25 years. It was quite a while before our entrée order was taken, but we didn't mind. The service was good, and our server was very patient with us (we stayed for over two hours! We kept an eye on whether they needed the table and checked with the server to be sure that was ok, and we tipped generously).
It is just the nature of the space that it is loud. And we had a bar side table near the entrance. I prefer a quieter experience, but that is hard to find anywhere. The ambiance is still terrific.
The food was outstanding. We started with the fried green tomatoes. Two of us had the shrimp and grits and one had the spicy chicken sandwich. We have been up and down with Tupelo Honey since the day they opened. After past ownership transitions and menu changes, my hubby didn't like it so much and wasn't enthusiastic about going. But after this visit, he is a raving fan again, and Tupelo Honey is a great downtown icon that merits a visit from tourists and is a place for locals to take their guests for a great Asheville experience!
Had reservations and still had to wait. On a Friday morning.
Interesting salad, unusual tasty combination of veges, avocados, beets and greens. I added a fried chicken thigh rather dry and overcooked. Service fast and efficient
The fried green tomatoes were a perfect brunch plate - love the simple but delicious twist on southern cuisine! We were a little cold on the covered outdoor patio (it was raining and windy outside) but the service was impeccable and it was a lovely meal.
Had a reservation and had to wait a while to get a table. Way overpriced. Decent food but not worth it.
We went because we had read an article listing Tupelo Honey as one of the best restaurants in Asheville, but were quite disappointed. The fried chicken was dry. The Mac and cheese was bland. The brussel sprouts were flavorless and charred. Additionally, we had read they had wonderful fried okra, but found that it is no longer on the menu or available. The service was great, however. Too bad we found the food to be overrated.
The food was amazing, as always. Our server could not have been more friendly and attentive. We had a lovely time.
Shaun our waiter, was excellent. The food was good . Ordering to getting to table was less than 10 minutes. Only request was this place should open before 10
We went to Tupelo Honey after a friend recommended it and OMG! Was outstanding!!! Wish we had one close to us in Ohio!
It was great !
We've been to Tupelo Honey several times previously & always include it on our dining schedule when visiting Asheville. Pandemic precautions are in place & observed by the staff. Our waitress was also the bartender: she was helpful, efficient & mixed excellent drinks. My wife's honey dusted fried chicken was excellent & my bourbon glazed "meat loaf" (more a large meatball) was equally good. We recommend TH for either lunch or dinner.
We had a really nice time. Pleasant atmosphere, Good Service, food-served timely and all four Entrees perfectly delicious. All staff members in strict accordance to the Pandemic Health Code regulations.
Only one thing........all being seniors........the print size on the menus is too small. We all needed magnifying eyeglasses to see the menu!
Great food and staff. Try the fried green tomatoes
This is a great place to dine. The food is amazing. I loved the banana pudding.
The Bloody Mary and beer selections was delish and paired perfectly with the cheeseburger, the pork and the fries! We shared our meals and walked away replenished to continue exploring Asheville !
Fried chicken and peach cole slaw was so money! Highly recommend.
Great food. Seated immediately with reservations.
Our server was very helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic!
Bone in fried chicken was incredible!!
Food was good but not outstanding. Chicken was dry. Biscuits were really good.
Fried green tomatoes was tasty and cooked to perfection. Fried cauliflower had good texture and tasted really good. Our entrees of hamburger with cheese and ground harvest bowl was delicious. There can be a bit of a wait so I recommend making a reservation
Great food, server was excellent.
I loved this place. Prices have gone up and the jar of honey is 16.00. I wanted to bring some home for friends and family but just bought one.
Wife’s birthday. Wife was very pleased with her 4 vegetable plate. My fried chicken was very dry and over cooked and had minimal southern fried chicken flavor. Perhaps it was and off day for this menu item. Green beans with basil was very good.
My experience usually if I indicate a special occasion through Open Table reservations is that the special occasion is acknowledged by restaurant staff. Not that it is a big issue I thought with this restaurant’s reputation something might have been said.
Overall experience was good and Tyler, our server, gave us great service.
good experience. good value and food. excellent service
