Great food, the shrimp and grits are killer!!
Hostess & wait staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was great!
Not worth the wait. Major hassle just to get seated. We were eventually seated at a counter beside the open kitchen where customers should not be seated. Food is very fatty, salty, and greasy. Maybe some folks like it that way, but the food was so heavy over half of it was not consumed.
The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly.
Great food and service, was a little hot inside.
Very good food and service
Food was excellent! The sweet potato pancakes are a must. Very good food
Food was spot on. Server was fantastic. Southern Shakshuka was tasty - cheesy grits, tomatoes, perfectly cooked eggs. Biscuits, jam, and of course Tupelo Honey were wonderful. Trout was delicious - perfectly cooked and mildly seasoned allowing the fish to shine. Great from start to finish.
The food was good....that’s about all I can say. The biscuits were hard and cold we were served. The honey and jam were fantastic, just wish the biscuits were good. I got the half chicken fried with Mac n cheese, fried okra. Chicken was good, but not great. Okra was fantastic, Mac n cheese was so so, tasted old and cold. My wife got the collards, they were good too.
Very yummy...calories well spent. Hubs and I shared the 1/2 fried chicken...so damn tasty!! The biscuits are a must. My only negative comment...and probably will sound strange, but service was a little too good. Would have liked a little more time to enjoy my drink before the meal came. But enjoyed the casual atmosphere, drinks, food and general ambience...will recommend to friends!
Fried green tomatoes were an awesome app, mojito was the best I had while in Asheville. Yummy mashed potatoes and fried chicken. Took two pieces home and had lunch the next day.
Excellent service, delicious food, great atmosphere. Enjoyed sitting on the patio and people watching. Best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. Collards were delicious. Biscuits and honey were epic. Yum!
The food was amazing and the service was great. I would go back again.
Our waiter was the best! He gives biscuits to the homeless. Nothing better than that in our town full of needy.
It seems that the menu has changed from traditional southern cuisine to hot and spicy quasi-southern. I am not a fan of jalapenos or similar spices so I had few choices.
enjoyed the food, already have recommended this to friends, need reservations in the middle of a week day is a good sign
Traveling with my mother on a tour of the Southeast. Tupelo Honey left a memorable dining experience. I mixed up my reservation time but was still seated immediately. The server Justin was fantastic. The food was incredible. We loved the complimentary biscuits with honey and blueberry. I’ve been thinking of them ever since.
Great menu, love the Tupelo Honey, blueberry jam and biscuits....so good! All the servers were awesome, so fun!
From start to finish, we had a perfect experience. Friendly hostess, our waitress was Andrea and she could not have been better. We loved everything! Definitely try the potato cracklin’s, I’ll be trying to recreate them at home!!
I love this place! We have been to the one in Charlotte multiple times, but ashville is the original. The staff is so kind, the service is amazing, and the food is out of this world. 10/10 recommend
We were late for our reservation and were seated at the bar. The bartender was helpful, friendly, and attentive. I had shrimp and grits- delish. My husband had the meatloaf which he felt the sauce was a little too sweet for his preference. Both dishes were very salty.
Over all it was a good experience and we’d go back to try other dishes.
This is a very popular dining location for Asheville. We ordered the NC trout and the fried chicken. The trout portion was very small, probably 3 oz or so, which really was not enough for my husband. The fried chicken was ok, but to be honest our local Publix has fried chicken that's just as good if not better. The biscuits were good, but nothing especially noteworthy or out of this world delish. The service was ok, but the server kept saying he would get us things but didn't. Also he wasn't very attentive and while other tables had their server check on them at least 2 or 3 times, ours didn't come back once during the same time period. Overall it was ok - honestly I just don't expect much anymore from anyone...it's a place to go to say you went, but not because the food was completely amazing.
So glad we visited. We sat next to the spot where the food was coming up and everything looked amazing. Ours was excellent and the free biscuits are beyond.
We reserved a table online, got seated on time, had a professional and enthusiastic server, delicious food, a wonderful breakfast for sure! It’s at least our third, maybe fourth time visiting, and it won’t be our last!
Great place to take my in-laws and kids while they were visiting. Good food but seemed
Overpriced to me for adult and kids meals. We sat on the outside patio and had a very enjoyable dinner. The Tupelo Margaritas were great, too.
We went twice in one weekend. It was that good. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was fun,. Biscuits are to die for.
As out of towners we were excited to dine at Tupelo Honey in Downtown Asheville because of the "hype". Our reservations were for lunch. A sign informed us that waiting inside is not allowed. I understand as there is no room to wait. Waiting outside probably builds the restaurant's reputation as an "it". Once inside, our table was cramped and we had to squeeze by other patrons. The noise level was a bit high. I heard big things about the mac and cheese so I ordered a side. I felt it was bland and ended up eating only half. Same with the biscuit, in my opinion.
However, the fried green tomatoes served over grits were excellent. The coating was crisp and crunchy and the grits were creamy and well-seasoned. I would recommend those to anyone.
Perhaps I was disappointed BECAUSE of the hype. I expected more ambience, more southern charm and more flavorful dishes. The food and service were okay but not amazing. The prices were slightly high but that may be the area standard. All in all, I can't say it was bad or poor. Again, it was "okay". But I wouldn't say you HAVE TO go there.
Excellent. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Amazing restaurant with superb service.
The best fried chicken we have ever had! The restaurant was in a fun location and the building itself makes for a great atmosphere!! Add it to your list of must dos!
Best restaurant in Asheville!! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, the staff is fantastic and the ambiance is great!
The green fried tomatoes were the best I've ever had. Their fried chicken and meatloaf are both exceptional. Their mojito, not so much. Definitely not the best I've ever had. It's super loud, so hard to visit, but good, friendly atmosphere. The checkin process could be improved with better instruction and making sure that those who made the effort to make a reservation come first. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, as walkins were seated before us. Overall a good meal and not bad service. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Excellent food. The biscuits were divine. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.
The food was outstanding and we enjoyed being able to sit in the outdoor seating on such a nice day!
Overrated bad Caesar salad dressing no refills on lemonade Mac n cheese was not special. Chicken was fine but not anything special. Disappointing was hoping for more
The food here was amazing. I had the trout, and I think it was the best trout I’ve ever had. Their homemade biscuits and blackberry jam were delicious!
Everything was great!! Only complaint is the noise was so loud I couldn’t hear anyone at my table.
Tupelo Honey is always a treat. Great food and excellent service.
We had a great Mother’s Day lunch.
