The server, nor anyone at the restaurant apparently, was not very helpful addressing allergy concerns. The food was good. Service unacceptable. Server did not check on table or refill drinks unless we waved her down.

We had two recommendations that said Tupelo Honey was a super Asheville restaurant. It didn’t measure up to that. The food was good and the service very much so. Prices were fair for what we ordered. Additionally, while I’m not usually a beer drinker with dinner, I did order a spectacular, local, raspberry infused dark bear that was a great compliment to my meatloaf entree. On the negative side, the restaurant was very crowded and incredibly noisy. We were seated in the bar area and the patrons there were right on top of where I was seated. It certainly made for an uncomfortable setting. I would think that lunch would be a better and more comfortable experience.

Got the pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and Brussel sprouts to start. The fried green tomatoes blew me away, the Brussels and pimento cheese however were just alright. The drinks were unbelievable, as well as the service, Julie, took fantastic care of us and was VERY knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend overall.

Amazing southern cuisine. Our family picked several items and shared it all. A must when in Asheville. Kudos to the chef!

Peach French toast disappointed - two slices of bread for $14. Home made biscuits were fantastic. Service was good. But overall food was expensive and average.

The food was great! But the tables were so crowded together and it was very noisy and hard to hear the person across the table. Also the floors were littered with food and I’m assuming They were so busy that the staff didn’t have time to clean up between tables. Also the floors were so slick the chairs kept gliding around. However, our server was very attentive even though she was busy.

Sitting next to the kitchen didn’t help my experience. Could see the food prepped in masses waiting for quite some time to actually be plated. Food was not hot and biscuits were cold and tough.

I have heard a lot about Tupelo Honey. I may have hyped myself up too much. But compared to other restaurants that have the same price per plate it does not compare. We started to go to 131 Main instead, we will next time.

The food was acceptable, service excellent. My problem was, if I’m going to spend that kind of money at a restaurant I expect great ambiance (noisy kids, taped tear in the plastic wall and a bit dirty.) and really good food. The menu was small which is fine. We dropped 73 bucks for 2 chicken dinners, 1 mixed drink and 2 beers (before our 20% tip).

The breakfast meal portions are huge so consider splitting so you don’t end up having to lay on the couch all afternoon. They give you a biscuit each with blueberry compote and honey while you wait for your food. It’s yummy.

We have had dinner at the Tupelo Honey Cafe on our way to Hilton Head from Cincinnati for at least the last 20 years. We always look forward it. We have told many people about the restaurant and how much we enjoy it. We just love your signature dishes.

Our waitress was very helpful with food choices and friendly. The fried green tomatoes were so good. And my breakfast chicken and biscuits was the best iv ever had. The price was fair. The honey and biscuit served before the meal was very good. I would go back for sure.

I probably would not return. It was too noisy to visit with my table mate. The food was quite good, but we were seated in a very busy spot in a walkway by the kitchen and food service pick up and that made it difficult to hear each other.
