The food was excellent and are server was great. It was a busy night and the food was always delivered promptly. I would highly recommend Tupelo honey to anyone visiting or living in Asheville
The food at Tupelo Honey is exactly what a foodie wants and expects from Asheville's food culture. The food is tasty and well made first and foremost. They use quality ingredients and make everything as authentically as possible. Second, they are creative with the classics. Goat cheese grits are so creamy and the cheese adds a richness without the sour that is normally associated with that sort of cheese. The ambience is laid back- not a quiet place to dine, but fine for brunch and with small kids. I had the breakfast bowl and it was really tasty. Who knew black-eyed peas could go so well with spicy salsa verde and eggs over easy? Highly recommend this place.
I have been visiting Asheville for approximately 40 years and the tupelo honey has been my favorite for most of that time. Never have I had a bad meal, service or experience. It should not be missed!! For breakfast, don't miss the fried chicken with sweet potato pancakes. It's magical
Awesome food, great atmosphere!
If you would climb to the top of Mount Olympus and battle Zeus for the fried chicken of the gods, it would be this chicken.
Fried chicken, grits, and margaritas were great!
A great restaurant for Southern Food - we loved the Brussel Sprouts and Fried Chicken. Portions are ample ! Our waitress Natalie was very attentive without being overbearing - delightful to chat with. A great downtown location - would definitely recommend to others going through Asheville.
The food was really good and the portions were pretty sizeable. We didn't realize they brought biscuits for the table so you might not want to order too many appetizers, we were stuffed at the end!
The food was tasty and the service was efficient and friendly. The only real drawback was the noise level and crowded tables. Lots of families with lots of kids and babies, so if you want to have a conversation you should go somewhere else. If you're bringing lot of kids and babies, this is perfect.
Loved our visit and our reservation was ready when we arrived. Lovely out door patio, great service and the food was excellent. Only negative was that our table was crammed on the patio and I could hardly move. My husband sat on the corner of the table bc there wasn’t enough room between him and the table behind us.
Service, food timing & taste, ambiance and value were all excellent. Our party of 5 was very happy with our drinks, apps and entrees. The beet salad with fried chicken was amazing.
I had the "small" dish, frien green tomatoes over gris...it was more than I could eat and it was AMAZINGLY delicious! Atmosphere was nice and service was great. I will be a repeat customer.
I had lunch with my family at the Tupelo Honey on a busy Saturday. The noise level was relatively high due to so many people being in the restaurant. However the service was prompt and the food was excellent. We enjoyed several brunch item. Some of the dishes are quite unique like the chicken with biscuits and white gravy in a bowl.
The food and service was really good.
Great service fantastic food!
First the others. Noisy. Packed in like sardines. But table es ready st reserved time. Food was excellent and our waiter had good recommendations and paid just the right amount of attention. If it’s a group gaggle, this is your place. Romantic night for two on a special occasion?. Not so much.
The service was great. They made accommodations for an unexpected wheelchair and early arrival. Thank you! As always, the food was spot on awesome. Keep doin' what you are doin'
The server, nor anyone at the restaurant apparently, was not very helpful addressing allergy concerns. The food was good. Service unacceptable. Server did not check on table or refill drinks unless we waved her down.
We had two recommendations that said Tupelo Honey was a super Asheville restaurant. It didn’t measure up to that. The food was good and the service very much so. Prices were fair for what we ordered. Additionally, while I’m not usually a beer drinker with dinner, I did order a spectacular, local, raspberry infused dark bear that was a great compliment to my meatloaf entree. On the negative side, the restaurant was very crowded and incredibly noisy. We were seated in the bar area and the patrons there were right on top of where I was seated. It certainly made for an uncomfortable setting. I would think that lunch would be a better and more comfortable experience.
Yum, yum, yum! Loved everything about our brunch at Tupelo Honey. So much variety on the menu - there's really something for everyone. If you're in Asheville, you owe it to yourself to make a stop here for breakfast.
Got the pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and Brussel sprouts to start. The fried green tomatoes blew me away, the Brussels and pimento cheese however were just alright. The drinks were unbelievable, as well as the service, Julie, took fantastic care of us and was VERY knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend overall.
Their dusted chicken and Avocado and cheese chicken sandwich was to die for! Old fashioned was Superb! Our service was right on point and the Atmosphere was fun
Amazing southern cuisine. Our family picked several items and shared it all. A must when in Asheville. Kudos to the chef!
Tupelo Honey is one of those restaurants when in downtown Asheville. You will certainly enjoy the food and the experience of this great restaurant.
Absolutely wonderful experience! Food was fabulous!!!!
Our new favorite restaurant in all the cities where they are located. Excellent food, large portions, super friendly staff and definitely well priced.
We will be back!!
Peach French toast disappointed - two slices of bread for $14. Home made biscuits were fantastic. Service was good. But overall food was expensive and average.
The food was great! But the tables were so crowded together and it was very noisy and hard to hear the person across the table. Also the floors were littered with food and I’m assuming They were so busy that the staff didn’t have time to clean up between tables. Also the floors were so slick the chairs kept gliding around. However, our server was very attentive even though she was busy.
Food was fine, but nothing to write home about. The waiter forgot to bring a drink order but thankfully did not charge us for it.
Delicious food, great service and great Bloody Mary's - I highly recommend reservations.
We will be back.
Good Southern food with twist. Potato pancakes were delicious, as were biscuits.
Our server was great.
Sitting next to the kitchen didn’t help my experience. Could see the food prepped in masses waiting for quite some time to actually be plated. Food was not hot and biscuits were cold and tough.
Don’t let the rude hostesses turn you off. Our server and the food were excellent! Highly recommend the shrimp and grits!
I was there on a Bachelorette party for my sister in law that I had planned and chose Tupelo Honey for its pictures and reviews online. When we got there you see the really cute side with the strung lights and bar which is what I had assumed the whole restaurant was from the pictures but we got sat in the very back on the other side which reminded me more of an urban panera bread feel, by the bathrooms. That was disappointing for me as an atmosphere person so I would definitely recommend telling them where you want to sit if you can. The service was just "okay" but nothing spectacular. In all - it was "good" and "okay" but probably wouldn't suggest to others at this point. The food was good though! Lots of basil.
I have heard a lot about Tupelo Honey. I may have hyped myself up too much. But compared to other restaurants that have the same price per plate it does not compare. We started to go to 131 Main instead, we will next time.
The food was acceptable, service excellent. My problem was, if I’m going to spend that kind of money at a restaurant I expect great ambiance (noisy kids, taped tear in the plastic wall and a bit dirty.) and really good food. The menu was small which is fine. We dropped 73 bucks for 2 chicken dinners, 1 mixed drink and 2 beers (before our 20% tip).
Our server was the best. Food was amazing from start to finish.
