We found Tupelo Honey when we attended a wedding in Asheville, NC several months ago. It was the most delicious breakfast we’d ever had. We were in Denver on business and were THRILLED to find there was a Tupelo Honey only a few blocks from our hotel. We arrived a few minutes before they opened and were greeted with warm and friendly smiles. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious and the mimosas were like a cherry on top. We love Tupelo Honey!

Excellent southern fare! From the gigantic, fluffy biscuits to the creamy grits with amazing shrimp....and many other southern favorites. "Bless your heart!" if you miss this taste of the south on the front range!

Great experience! Delicious and authentic southern food. We had to wait a bit for our reservation and the food was slower than ideal but they were so nice and comped our app and dessert! Would def go back again

Food was outstanding. However the service was the worse service I have experienced in years and honestly ruined the dining experience. The restaurant is very nice and should have well trained servers. We would go back, we would just walk right Back out of it was the same server.

Made reservations for 11:45am. Did not get seated until after 12pm. Hostess was space and slow. Server didn’t seem like she was having a good day, didn’t want to be at work. It took over 45 minutes to get food. When we got the food the famous chicken they talk about on their menu was over cooked and the rest of the dish was cold. I understand it’s brunch and it’s busy but we paid over $75 for 2 people to have a good warm brunch. This time it wasn’t worth it. Not sure we will go back.

I don't know if they were short staffed or what but service was definitely lacking. We purposely went during happy hour but our waiter was so inattentive he didn't ask us if we wanted another round before happy hour was over. We probably would have gotten more drinks and appetizers if he had come by more. That would mean a bigger bill so a large tip but he was never around. I saw it had really good reviews so I was surprised about this. Also the food was good but not great. I was concerned when our food came out before our drinks (maybe the bar was backed up) but that tells me that a lot of it is pre-made and they heat it up before getting it out. We will not be returning.

After moving to Denver from Asheville, NC I was excited to find out there was a Tupelo Honey in town. Myself and two others dined outside for Sunday brunch. The 4 empty tables around us had piles of plates and half eaten food the ENTIRE time we dined... Our server came to get our drink and food order after 10-15 minutes of waiting and never returned. A food runner dropped our plates off and we were finally able to order another drink. My sister and I ordered the Appalachian salad with friend chicken $17 and the rainbow kale salad with fried chicken $17, big mistake. We are both petite women, but these salads were side salad sized with a small chicken tender on top. The Appalachian salad had no sweet potato puree and no pecans. The rainbow kale salad had no dressing and what I thought were pumpernickel croutons were actually black, burned croutons! GROSS! My boyfriend ordered the southern shakshuka which had no flavor and looked like someone took the dish and put it in a ninja blender before serving it.

This was such a disappointment! My sister and I ended up running over to Recess Beer Garden for wings after brunch because we were starving. I enjoy smaller portions of food, but this was a joke. The "fried chicken" on top was literally a cold children's menu tender. Sad.

What a find! I am from the South and this is as authentic as it gets! Amazing grits, fried green tomatoes, low country shrimp and grits and for brunch they have some crazy pancake and french toast options! We tried the banana pudding french toast...WOW!

Service was on point, attentive not intrusive and most importantly our waiter had been there for 2 years!!! They treat their people well.

We really want to like this place, but our experiences are always poor. They forgot about us and when I went to ask about our table, they said they were 'finishing wiping the table'... Just to bring us to the empty table that had been sitting open and untouched since we arrived. Then the table was wobbly so our host went to find something to fix it... His solution didn't work so he said our hostess would help. Well, no one told her that, so we had an awkward stand off until my husband said he'd just keep his foot on it the whole time. The shakshuka was mushy... My spouse didn't eat it, to which the waitress said nothing. Then our biscuits were raw so the waitress said she'd 'let the kitchen know'. A good concept for a restaurant, but the customer service could use work.

Tupelo Honey was in a good downtown location next to the train station. I found the service to be fair as our waitress was not very attentive. The menu offered a good variety of food and could accommodate whether you’re a vegan, meat lover or something in between. I ordered the salmon dish and did not like the sauce, as it over powered the salmon. The fried green tomatoes were a big hit with all at the table.

The waitress tried hard and did her best, however, it appeared she was the only waitress in the restaurant. She informed us that they did not have any catfish or trout left even though we had a 7:00 pm reservation. We all ordered chicken. It seemed like it was taking a long time to get the food when she came by and said that three of the chicken orders were ready but they still had to cook the 4 th plate which would take another 20 minutes. She did comp us for the appetizers (fried green tomatoes and biscuts). The food was good and we enjoyed it, but.....not the best of experiences.

We were visiting Denver. We read the reviews and like to eat local. The chicken was amazing: juicy, crispy outside & perfect seasoning. The serving was generous. We also had a fresh & seasonal salad that was also delicious.

I fully expected to love Tupelo Honey. The menu looked great and the photo of their food on their website made me really look forward to our meal. First off, the service was stellar. No complaints there. Our waitress was warm, attentive and very helpful. But I found that while it looked delicious, the food was merely okay, expensive and highly overrated. I really can't figure out the rave reviews this restaurant has received. Their biscuits were salty, something I never expected at a restaurant specializing in Southern cooking. The food was beautifully presented, but the combination of flavors I experienced just didn't hit the mark. For my money, and the incredible hassle of trying to find parking near Tupelo Honey, I will skip this restaurant in the future. While variety is the spice of life, and I'm always interested in trying new restaurants, my next Sunday brunch will be at Jelly on 13th Avenue, which has AMAZING biscuits, delicious food and is more reasonably priced. Morning Collective on South Broadway is also a better value with fabulous food.

The shrimp and grits was wonderful! A good spice and the shrimp were succulent. The fried chicken was a bit of a disappointment. It was basic - not worth $19-20. The Brussel sprouts were nicely done. The omelet was standard. The steak was very good. Our server was very good and the restaurant is attractive - although the booths are a bit tight (Like an airplane, they fit a lot of seats in a small space - probably because the rent is a bit higher in Denver). Location is great - near Union Station.

This was my 3rd time at Tupelo and the second time that we had slow service and disappointing food. It took almost 10 minutes before anyone greeted our table. We ordered all ordered sweet potato pancakes and no one's eggs were cooked as ordered, which is disappointing. Also the fried chicken was overcooked. When its a dish that your restaurant is known for you should probably get it right.

Food has always been good at dinner but missed the mark at brunch. The menu has potential but the kitchen needs to do a better job at delivering good food. As in a lot of spots, the food was over-priced for what we got. Good downtown location and pleasant atmosphere along with attentive service were all highlights.

Well if all the review contained was Fried Chicken and the table service the review would be a 4/12-5 star review. However, an almost 20 minute wait for
an early evening reservation time is not a great way to start. The bar only making 5 of the 6 drinks ordered is not great follow up. And frankly a table of
Side dishes that were neither hot nor special hurt as well. In the upside the table service was outstanding and the fried chicken was excellent.

We went to Tupelo Honey after a small civil ceremony wedding with a close friend and family member who attended our wedding. It was the middle of the afternoon, so there were only a couple of other tables occupied, we largely had the restaurant to ourselves. We told our server we just got married and she graciously arranged for us to have complimentary champagne cocktails for our party to celebrate. Those and the regular cocktails we ordered were outstanding, they do a really nice job with craft cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned and it was wonderful. The food options were very inventive while maintaining a strong sense of the restaurant's southern roots. Brunch and dinner fare were available to suit everyone's tastes. For desert we got a sampler tray of mini-mason jar deserts that were all fantastic. Overall a really nice experience for us on a special day. We will definitely return.
