What meal?! We made a reservation, but the restaurant was closed. We drove 30 minutes to get there. Arlington County’s water supply was shut off on Friday, but it was restored by 6am Sunday - but, Sunday night, Tupelo Honey was closed. No notice to people who had made reservations. Every other restaurant on the street was open. We are next door.

There was a sign on the door saying that the restaurant was closed due to the water main break, but they forgot to turn off reservations on OpenTable

I had a reservation on open table and got there and restaurant was closed due to water issue in Arlington. I totally get that was not under control of Tupelo honey but I would have appreciated a notification that the restaurant was closed. I did receive an open table confirmation on Saturday. Why was I not contacted they were closed?

Tupelo Honey is good, damn good. It is now my best overall restaurant experience in the DC area. From the moment we walked in we were treated with the warmest of southern hospitality. Being from the Deep South I appreciate this more than I can say. At the same time we were treated as if we were in a fine dining setting. The service was impeccable yet friendly, jovial and personal. Ryan, Donnell, Aubrey and the bartender (sadly I did not get his name!) made our evening feel like we were in the presence of friends. The food was just as warm and wonderful as the staff. Ribs, honey dusted fried chicken, collards, crispy Brussels sprouts and the most perfect biscuits. My honeysuckle lavender lemon drop was like drinking flowers and happiness. Overall I couldn’t have asked for more from a dining experience. We will be back, and will bring friends.

The service had really taken a turn the last few visits, but they had someone new (?) on the staff today who was wonderful! Hopefully a sign that it’s turned the corner again! The food was great as always.

We went to TH on a Friday night with our teenagers. No issues getting seated, but we went after 730pm. The server was fantastic. Knowledgeable and friendly, she was a great resource for food and beverages. The restaurant looks great and was crowded, but noise was not a factor. Our only thought...after living 16.5 years in eastern North Carolina...is the food could be better. It was cooked well...meats and veg were as juicy or crisp as needed...but the lack of flavor was noticeable. We had to ask for salt and pepper. We think, based on the choices, that they're aiming to either be super spicy or plain. The result is the non-spicy needs a lot of flavor. It was good, for this area, but not sure the $110 for 4 people is worth a repeat any time soon. Everything else was good though.

Food was a disappointment. It lacked flavor and was bland. It is not even close to being good southern cooking. The fried chicken and grits were mediocre and that is supposed to be a signature dish. Will not go back.

Went here for brunch after church. We had a later reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in earlier since it was pouring rain outside. The biscuits they give you are a bit on the dry side, but since they’re complimentary...no further complaints. I opted for French toast instead of the sweet potato pancakes. Big mistake! French toast is dry as well. This place has some tasty food, but they drop the ball on certain items. My friend said her chicken was on the dry said and she had dark meat which is usually juicy. Overall, I’d say try this spot. Your experience might be different.

The fried chicken wasn't cooked well. It was a far cry from the Tupelo Honey Branch that I had in Knoxville which was really crispy, flavorful, tender and juicy and that really impressed me. So I went back to the Arlington Branch for the same thing and ordered a half bird which was a disappointment because not only wasn't the chicken crispy at all, the skin of it was soggy. The meat was bland and the entire dish wasn't warm. The complimentary biscuit were also smaller and the texture were less fluffy as Tupelo Honey Branch in Knoxville. Only the fried okra was good.

Went for our 6 year anniversary. Got cocktails before dinner— sent mine Back , tasted nothing like the Moscow mule description. Bartender replaced my drink, no questions asked— very nice. Good service, good catfish which is what I had along with the most amazing Brussel sprouts. Would have given the experience five stars. Not sure if this is an open table issue or the restaurant, but I did put in that it was for our anniversary, would have been nice for restaurant to go the extra mile and making it extra sweet , would have appreciated a nice gesture( glass of complimentary champagne or dessert) as other restaurants have done in the past for anniversary dinner.

The food is good and the service was a bit slow. I recommend the chicken and sweet potato pancakes, they are delicious. The alcoholic beverages were great too. I enjoyed the apple & cinnamon mimosa

But everyone was professional and friendly and overall it was a good experience. I will return.

Good value for the money and a convenient area to park. The food was decent and we had large portions. The staff was friendly, but very slow. Maybe it was an off day, but it felt like our server had too many tables.

Have visited Tupelo Honey since its opening here and service has trickled down steadily. This is based on visits during brunch, mid-week HH and know Friday evening. Hard to maintain good staff and more importantly management.

Very long wait for food in an empty restaurant. We remembered halfway through lunch that we were supposed to get these really delicious scones and were told they’ll bring them later because there was a large party in the back. Coffee arrived reheated and had to be sent back. Disappointing!

Loved the great food options at Tupelo! It was 9 of us so when service was slow we noticed. Their Bloody Mary with tequila could use some flavor and their eggs Benedict were under cooked. Other than that everything was great. Loved the ambience and the vibe. Maybe better service and attention to detail with smaller parties. They did also accommodate our kids which was a HUGE plus! Also amazing beer selection.

I love Tupelo Honey but the service has really fallen off the last several times I’ve been here. It was 20 minutes before someone ever took my order. My waitress never came back to refill my drink and I took me over 5 minutes to flag someone down to ask for something after my food arrived. My waitress basically tossed my check on me at one point, without asking whether I’d like anything else - I probably would have ordered desert but I was afraid of the wait. They were busy but not crazy today - it appears lots of staff were sort of just standing around. I hope they’re able to figure out the service again!

Poor service- had to walk over our credit card to the bar at the end of the night to close out after 20 minutes of waiting. Food was ok- not worth the price. Not many people were there, tons of servers, yet took forever to get someone to come to our table through the night.

Our waitress was extremely inattentive and we had to wave her down for things. We never got the honey and biscuits.

Worse - our food was cold and the side dishes were wrong. She never came over to asked how everything was so wave her down again.

They microwaved the fried chicken (after complaining it was cold) which just made the skin soggy. Sacrilege for fried chicken.

I have been to other topelo honey locations and had amazing experiences. Won’t go back to this one, and it also put a bitter taste in my mouth and ruined my previous good experiences.

Fell short on everything.

Great brunch experience! Southern comfort-style food, but not too rich and heavy. Also a more manageable crowd/noise level than I had anticipated on a weekend morning brunch. Very easy parking, great service, great drinks. Fun all around!
