Food was amazing. Service was slow, was served a dirty coffee glass and a dirty silverware set. Food and drinks are a little pricey (I.e. $5 for a side of cheese grits) but overall it was a good spot for breakfast/brunch. Would not recommend if you wanted to drink a lot, because the mimosas are $9 for a regular and $13 for a larger one, which will get pricey if you’re looking to catch a buzz.
Let's see. Where do I start. Food was absolutely delicious. Love the variations on the menu. Went for brunch on Sunday. Glad I made a reservation. Chef came over to the table a couple times after waitress told him it was our first time there. Nice touch! Will definitely be back. Pricing was very reasonable. We ordered a little of everything and it was all good!
The food was fresh and delicious. My friend and I both ordered the 3 for $11 breakfast platters and enjoyed everything we had on our plates. However, the service was seriously lacking, as we were left to sit at the table for about ten minutes before the server came around to take our order. This was around 3 PM on a Saturday when the place was not very busy.
Waiter was new and did not know menu very well. He also proved inattentive as the visit wore on. Reservation was for 1:00 PM, but we were seated closer to 1:25. That is unacceptable. It was uncomfortably loud near the front of the restaurant, but I'll give that a pass. Manager checked on us an another waiter provided more coffee and water near the end of the meal so teamwork was good. The large booth was perfect, as was all of the food, especially the biscuits! Love this restaurant, but they sometimes struggle when the place is really busy.
Okra was hard...grits runny, white sauce with everything which is not a southern thing, but tasty chicken and overall worth a visit...not typically southern, but enjoyable
The food here was awful. We have been to Tupelo Honey in Greenville SC and absolutely loved it. We were extremely disappointed with everything our party of 7 ate. The food was cold and extremely bland and flavorless. The shrimp and grits were AWFUL. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to eat.
I loved the food here! This is the second time I have come and it's always super busy, a reservation is definitely recommended so you do not have to wait long. I loved the food but since the place is so busy the service is not the best, it's not bad but nothing special.
A fantastic, fun, busy atmosphere with great food and service to match. I’ve been here about a dozen times and never once been disappointed. A MUST for Sunday Brunch.
The chicken was extremely bland. The Honey Bee Dust chicken had few hints of honey. The sauce for the sriracha chicken was poured over parts of the chicken rather that the chicken being completely spun in the sauce. The mojito lacked the correct amounts of soda water, sugar, and lime juice. We were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. The service was just okay. I will need Tupelo to improve the flavor of the food before I return.
I was there for Saturday brunch. I was really looking forward to this experience but it turned out to be very disappointing. Coffee was lukewarm. I ordered the banana pudding topping on the sweet potato pancakes at the server’s recommendation. The pancakes were flat and tough, not fluffy that I expected. I also ordered fried chicken and scrambled eggs. The chicken tasted like it had been reheated and not freshly fried. Thank goodness the eggs were pretty good. After my meal arrived, my inattentive server brought a complimentary biscuit with honey and jam - a little late I would say. For a $30 brunch this meal was extremely disappointing!
The Famous Fried chicken was really enjoyable, and the food in general was tasty. Good value for money here.
We had a reservation and arrived on time. We were seated and sat at the table no short of almost 15 mins before ANYONE came over to take our order. During the dining experience, the waiter consistently passed us over and rarely checked in. I was extremely disgusted about the service. Also there seemed to be a complete segregation in where black couples were placed at small two seaters and other couples seated at a four top. None of the staff seemed to notice and all rushed around not doing much of anything. Though the food was really good. I was sorely disappointment!
We celebrated Valentine’s Day at Tupelo Honey. Food was very good. Service was a little slow but the manager did give us a coupon for a free small plate on our next visit. We will be back!
Server was pleasant and witty but stretched thin: we would have liked for her to come by more frequently. Fried chicken, grits, meatloaf, blueberry compot with the biscuits, and pecan pie were tasty; green beans were only ok. Cocktails were delicious. Glad this restaurant wasn’t too loud. Disappointed that this location didn’t have in stock promotional pint glass
Went on Valentine's Day, was concerned was going to be overbooked due to recent reviews. However for seated right at reservation time and everything from there was excellent. Food, service and atmosphere.
I had my friends and my boyfriend for valentines’ day. We had so much fun. The food was really good and the server was so nice and accommodating.
Ive been here 3 times and this past experience was my worst and was embarrassed to have my friend join me. The food was not hot and the chicken was not crispy and did not appear to be done. Although the meat was cooked to its requirement the flavor was blan. My sides were tasty but i also order an appetizer that did not come until after I recieved my main course. The eggs tasted old and appeared to be sitting in the fridge for a while. All concerns were addressed in the restuarant but it was very disappointing.
The atmosphere was fun. The food was good for the cost. The service was horrible. We had to continually ask other workers to fetch our waiter. The restaurant wasn’t busy but they were working on redoing the happy hour sign which seemed to occupy almost the entire staff.
I grew up in South Carolina. The food reminded me of home. The fried okra is absolutely delicious!
I love Tupelo Honey. I have been to the locations in Knoxville and Myrtle Beach also. The service is outstanding and the food is deliciously southern.
I ordered the harvest veggie bowl. The $5 tofu was unimpressive but I enjoyed the rest of the bowl. It would be nice to see some vegan options called out explicitly for folks who are trying to avoid dairy.
Ambiance was really great, service was fantastic, and the food was flavorful.
Great service and wonderful food options!
Great comfort brunch food and the service was extremely welcoming and helpful. Sefinitely add3d to my list of favorites.
We had eaten in the Asheville, North Carolina locations and loved the food. Frankly, we were disappointed in the biscuits-honey and blueberry jam that was amazing before. The fried chicken was not tender and the trout dry. The macaroni and collards were excellent but we felt rushed by our waiter
I had a good time. I feel like the ambiance of the food was good. But I hardly could not finish it because of the shrimp and grits had a lot of butter in the bowl.
Absolutely wonderful ! This was our 4th time, and each time the food and service has been top notch.
Waited inordinately long to be served even a glass of water after sitting down; waiting long to take order, etc. Food came out after a long time. Fried chicken was not up to snuff - soggy on the bottom from sitting a juice from the accompanying side of collard greens. Chicken -- particularly the wing meat -- was dry and not juicy. Not worth $17 for a half chicken.
The parking was good, which I didn't expect in Rosslyn. And, I enjoyed our appetizers; honey chipotle wings, pimento dip and pork tacos. However, cocktails, entrees and sides were, to put it nicely, severely lacking in seasoning and flavor. The green beans were awful! The "bee dust" chicken was just ok. But, what ruined it completely was the service. The server started out good, but when she saw we weren't enjoying our meal she became MIA. Had a different server altogether to close out the check. Finally, if you're going to advertise a "free pint glass" and you've run out, a substitute would be appropriate such as a free appetizer for the table, a free drink, something besides, "We're our of the glasses." Will not be returning to this particular Tupelo's.
