This restaurant's service and good food are always consistent. Our server for a busy Easter Sunday was right on time throughout our visit and the food was not only amazing as usual but also delivered in a timely fashion. This restaurant never seems to let me down.

There for Easter brunch, table of five, three adults. Seated promptly at a nice booth, greeted warmly, drinks arrived quickly, ordered mains. Then waited more than half an hour for food, which arrived cold, all five entrees. Scrambled eggs hard, steak cold, pancakes room temp. We could tell something was up by the way all the waitstaff seemed to be regularly congregating by the food pickup station, looking at their order lists and disagreeing on whose plates were whose. A manager came by near the end of our meal and I did mention that our food was cold, but that we'd waited so long for it that we just made do. He apologized, but frankly didn't seem too concerned. I can't recommend and don't think we'll return. Too bad. It's a nice looking place with what seems like a good menu. Execution was just way off. Tip: try to find street parking, garage is $4 for the first hour and $10 after that, adding insult to injury.

The decor and ambience of the restaurant was very nice and inviting, and we were looking forward to Southern Comfort food. Must say that the Happy Hour specials were a very good deal. The Fried Pickles tasted fresh and delicious. However, we were recommended to have the Mac n Cheese fried bites. They came out lukewarm and soggy...were expecting hot and crispy...

So their signature dish is their southern fried chicken. The menu sounded appetizing and so they had three choices:

1. Honey Dusted Fried Chicken - 24-hour brined & fried, sprinkled with our signature 'bee dust'
2. Sweet & Spicy Chicken - drizzled with sriracha honey sauce
3. Bleu Buffalo Chicken - buffalo style hot sauce, bleu cheese crumbles, garlic buttermilk ran

We tried 1 and 3. Sounds good right?

We were looking so forward to it. It came out warm...wasn’t sizzling hot nor crunchy...we would expect that from fried chicken. And the meat wasn’t as tasty as we’d expect from 24 hour brined chicken.
We thought “maybe that’s how they do it southern style?”...
Dunno...we definitely were disappointed by the meal....

Very nice restaurant though, and lovely neighborhood, just was expecting more or better from a fine looking place.

Waited over an hour for our main meal. The chicken was dry and unseasoned. We had dirty plates on our table for a long time with waiters passing without removing them. When we asked for the check, it still took forever. Will not return.

My son and I were greeted promptly and taken to our table. Our server was very nice and attentive. My son wanted to try the signature(?) fried chicken and I was getting the Wednesday Special - Shrimp and Grits. Our food was delivered quickly. My son thought the fried chicken was just “so so”, and, I was surprised that my cheesy grits were almost room temperature while the shrimp seemed like they just came off the grill. Overall, we were not impressed with either of our meals. This was disappointing as my wife had enjoyed a lovely brunch at the Asheville NC Tupelo Honey. I’m thinking its “safer” to order breakfast/brunch items. Also, Asheville NC has become a bit of a “foodie” destination and the Tupelo Honey probably has to up their game to be competitive with all the “local” foodie restaurants. I am willing to give DC TH another chance, but, I’ll probably order what I ate at the Asheville TH.

Got seated right away and it took 10 minutes for anyone to come over and bring water. Immediately ordered and it took another 10 minutes and a reminder before our coffee came. (Restaurant was less than half full, so wasn’t that staff was overwhelmed) The avocado on the eggs Benedict was cold, so made for cold eggs Benedict which is never ideal. Good prices, nice environment, but overall mediocre. Other people’s orders- sweet potato pancakes described as OK- couldn’t taste sweet potato.

I have been here for lunch before and the buffalo fried chicken is fantastic. Recommend coming then but avoid brunch.

Food was excellent. Had the shrimp and grits. Shrimp were perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. For some reason getting drinks was very, very slow. We were done with apps before our drinks came. We had friends at another table that didn't get their food for nearly an hi hour and had to leave without eating to go to a show. Tupelo did comp their drinks though. Maybe they were just having an off night in the service.

First, it took us about 20 minutes to get water and a drink menu. Then, they were out of several menu items when we ordered around 840pm. We waited around 45 minutes for the appetizers. Finally, when our dinner arrived, it was warm. It had clearly sitting there for awhile.

The waiter gave us a complementary Cobb salad when the kitchen backed up which was a nice gesture but overall it was a disappointing experience.

We had a good time at Tupelo-Honey. We went on a Saturday with reservations and were sat right away. We each ordered a drink off of their signature drinks list, and they were all pretty good. The sangria did lack a little life, but the other two drinks were yummy. We ordered the Mac and cheese bites and the chicken dip as our apps, and they came out quickly. I wish the chicken dip came with a more durable bread because the chip broke easily, but it was delicious so no complaints there. I wasn’t able to try the food that my friends ordered, but they completely cleaned their plates so I’m assuming they enjoyed their meals. Overall it was cute.

Food was not as good as I’d imagined it would be. I’m sure it’s fine for some, but brined chicken isn’t tasty to me. Pimento cheese was not too “pimento-y.” The deviled eggs and battered cauliflower were good but portions small.

Lunch service seemed quick for others, though a bit slower for us. Perhaps because we were dressed more casual? I had the apple, turkey cheddar flatbread and it was just ok. I wouldn’t order again. My lunch mates ordered the breakfast bowl and the lunch combo, both of which looked better than mine. Perhaps I just ordered wrong? Would be willing to come again, though would order something else.

The food was good however, the service was mediocre. We walked in to the host stand and had to wait a little while there was a employee sitting in the area on her phone and other employees passed by without asking if we needed any seating assistance. The staff was courteous in letting us choose the area of the restaurant where we wanted to sit. The floor of the restaurant was super slippery; I almost slipped on the way to our table. We had the trout and cauliflower steak entrees which were both very good. The drinks (house Manhattan and wine) were just ok and the happy hour prices are still a little steep.

At the beginning of the meal (right after seating) I told our server Rob that I would be using two coupons sent to me as part of the restaurant's loyalty program (and for my birthday). He shrugged and said they would be ok to use however, at the end of the meal when we received the check he told me that we could only use one after we had ordered what was included on the coupons. I did not appreciate his lack of knowledge and being presented with that at the end of meal especially when I made a point to inform him at the beginning.

We went to Tupelo Honey in Arlington after visiting one in Nashville and having an AMAZING experience there. Our waitress was extremely slow, a couple times we saw her on her phone. Not to mention, she wasn’t exactly the nicest. We were seated right next to the kitchen, which was fine but everyone crowed next to it the whole time. It was extremely loud, our table was sticky. Our food was mediocre at best. Just a disappointment overall.

I've enjoyed Tupelo Honey in other states, but this location seemed to be struggling a bit. The fried green tomatoes and grits were delicious. The service was okay, but we had to find our server several times to refill our drinks, and our used plates were never cleared between meals, leaving us with little room on the table. A manager and hostess also got into an argument at the hostess stand in front of a line of guests.

Front desk didn’t walk my girlfriend back to our table so she wandered around looking for where we had been seated; the table and both chairs were rickety and required stuffing napkins underneath, and our waitress was terrible. Brought biscuits, promised to go get honey, and never came back. Our app order came out wrong, and then she disappeared for almost a half hour, leaving us with no drinks, no entree ordered, and a table full of empty plates. We ordered cocktails twice and each one took about twenty minutes to be delivered. The food was good and all but the service sucked.
