Amazing quality of food. Amazing waitstaff. Just an overall wonderful experience.
We went early and were pleasantly surprised that they had happy hour. The food was delicious, the drinks were great (and reasonably priced). At 5:45pm the place was nearly empty; by 6:15pm it was full and lively.
We will definitely return!
The food is excellent. Incredibly fresh. Fun mix of flavors very well balanced. Interesting wines that
Work very well with the food. I do think the wine prices are marked up is a bit too high. The vibe is upbeat and fun. We have had many very good dining experiences at Tuna Bar.
Food and service great! Small portions though. Plus it was so loud in there my husband and I couldn’t enjoy our conversation.
My husband and I love Tuna Bar! I didn’t use to like raw fish too much but they have the tastiest and freshest fish around. On top of loving the food (and cocktails), the restaurant has a super cool vibe, and it’s in a location where we can always find street parking close by.
My wife and I enjoyed the wagu spring rolls, sashimi, sushi, and a couple custom rolls. Everything was outstanding. The best sushi we’ve ever had in Philly or NYC. Henry our server was very attentive and sincere. The manager and even the owner stopped by our table.
Always a home run here!
the food was delicious and the service was outstanding! i will definitely be back!
The best food and the nicest people. We have been to Tuna Bar many times and this is by far our favorite restaurant in Philly. And they have a great happy hour too. If you like sushi you must try this place. Big shout out to Ken, Jack and Tamin and the entire staff
We frequently go to Tuna Bar and it never disappoints! Special occasion or just because, make your reservation here!
It was NYE. We felt rushed. 3 courses came out at once.
Food was being taken off our table when we weren’t even finished with it. Food was good but 7 courses within 40 mins is kind of insane/
It was New Year’s Eve so I am willing to cut them some slack. It was our first time here. The food was excellent. The service was pretty bad. I like to be greeted when I enter a restaurant. Not left standing awkwardly in a cold doorway waiting for someone to notice me. We were a party of two with a reservation and seated at a very tiny table next to the sushi bar. There was a lot of wait staff traffic passing by our table which may explain why the second the last piece of food was removed from a dish, the dish was gone. It wade the service feel very rushed (again, New Year’s Eve, I get it to a certain extent but the overall vibe was “hurry up and leave”). We did the $65 per person tasting menu and the food was very delicious. Problem was, after paying the $150 bill, we walked 2 blocks home and made ourselves something else to eat because we were still hungry. I weigh 130 lbs and am usually stuffed after just eating a sandwich, so not a linebacker writing this. I will give this place another shot since it is in the neighbors and the food was good. If that service is the norm on a normal night, it will be my last visit.
First, let me start off by saying that the service was impeccable. Our waiter was friendly, helpful and attentive without being overbearing. However, we were very very disappointed with the menu. We made our reservation for New Year's Eve back on October 31st and at no time between then and the moment we entered the restaurant did anyone tell us that they were only offering a prix fixe menu. We loved Tuna Bar for their sushi, sashimi and rolls and unfortunately we were only offered 3 rolls to choose from (we could only select 2) and 4 pieces of sushi and 4 pieces of sashimi. Very disappointing especially considering that it was $95 a person. I really feel like diners should have been notified in advance.
Didn’t know what to expect, and was very pleased with the experience m. The drinks were delicious and the rolls were delightful. Will definitely be back for dinner next time!
An impressive first visit. Great atmosphere, excellent food (and a very good menu). Will definitely come back.
Thank you for taking the time to review your experience, we hope to see you again soon. - Tuna Bar Management
Food and service was fabulous
Ken the owner and visionary is very creative and serves impeccably fresh fish
We hope to get back soon
Outstanding dinner, very very fresh fish. Service was great, attentive. Saki was delicious. Sushi rolls, sashimi, seaweed salad, ginger salad, miso soup, wagyu rolls were some of the best. Would definitely recommend.
Tuna Bar is an all around incredible experience. Sushi is top notch, service is friendly and timely, and the space is beautiful. I can't wait to come back!
The food was incredible. Exceeded our high expectations. The service was fantastic and the owner engaged and indulged us several times during the night. I can’t wait to go back.
Tuna Bar is our favorite sushi restaurant. Incredible fresh sushi and an amazing staff . See you guys soon for the 2 years anniversary 👍🏻🍾🍣
Everything was great. Nothing was not good. Will return soon.
Fabulous appetizers, oysters, and sushi! Our waitress was lovely as well. We'll definitely be back =)
Delicious, super fresh food. Drinks were fabulous and refreshing.
Server was friendly and super helpful, very attentive.
The waiter brought my bill and I had to go tell someone that I think he forgot the “surprise birthday cake” which inevitably ruined the surprise...
Too expensive for an everyday meal and not nice enough for a special occasion. The happy hour menu was reasonable, although not enough to make a meal of. The Omakase was $65 for 16 pieces, and no other options for a selection of sushi or sashimi. Everything was a la carte. You could run up a 3-figure tab in a hurry.
Good sushi, not amazing but the best sushi in town outside of the super fancy sushi
Great quality! Great atmosphere! Definitely recommend Tuna Bar to my friends!
rolls, sashimi—particularly both the uni and quail egg over tobiko—and wines are top-notch...all paired very well with the celebration of my girlfriend’s new job!
Good food. Everything was delish except the peppered tuna. That was meh. Also so all portions at big prices. But pretty worth it.
Food, drinks, and service was excellent! Definitely a restaurant that targets eating sushi and sashimi. They have a few noodle and soup dishes, but the focus is a sushi bar. I highly recommend getting sake. They have a nice menu and you can try any of them if you can't decide.
While the ambience is nice, the food was unimpressive and overpriced.
The food was absolutely amazing, extremely fresh and well put together. The staff and chef were extremely accommodating to us. Dina was our waitress and it was the best service we had in a long time! Give this girl a promotion! ;) the atmosphere was elegant and romantic. Can’t wait to come back again 🖤
We have been here a few times, always great food and service.
Bill and I enjoyed our meal at Tuna Bar. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our server, Sam, helped us make our selections- the fabulous Brussels sprouts, lobster fried rice and a couple of specialty rolls. Sam was attentive and added to the ambiance of this very upscale urban venue.
Truely the best Sushi in Philadlephia. The experience and food is worth it all.
I’ve been coming here since it opened, but my last 3 visits did not go so well. The service here has really gotten bad. I love the food, but if you’re frustrated by food not coming, then coming all at once, then you can’t find the waiter because you need basics (like soy sauce) or another round, then you might want to pass.
Love it here!
