Tulunes Steak & Alehouse
Service was horrible . We had to go back up fri t and ask if anyone was going to provide service. We sat for 10 minutes and no one ever came to table to get drunk order. For the price of the food the food was mediocre at best
Everything was perfect. Service, food, atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone.
Fantastic! Our booth was waiting for us when we arrived, roomy and comfortable. The service was excellent; our food was served timely, but we never felt rushed. My son and husband both had steaks (sirloin and ny strip) and they were the best they have had in a long time. "Best in town" to quote by husband. I had the salmon, and it was excellent! I loved the sweet potato bites, smoky and not too sweet. Price wise, it was comparable to other fine dining establishments-- we didn't order alcohol, so we were pleasantly surprised when we got the check. On a side note, there was not a song I didn't like playing the whole time, it was like listening to my own playlist! I will definitely recommend this to friends and visitors.
Overall it was ok. We got fondue for an appetizer and it wasn’t as warm as we thought it would be, which was kind of disappointing. The steaks we got were average price for a steak restaurant and were cooked well. The kitchen forgot my steak toppings, but the waitress did remove the add on from the bill. The sides were a little surprising/disappointing. I got rice pilaf and wouldn’t have imagined that it would have charred corn, peppers and black beans in it, making it somewhat “southwest.” A description on the menu would be appreciated. We had a $50 gift card and for two of us, indulging slightly, ended up leaving spending the gift card plus almost $50 more, with tip. I wouldn’t say an excellent value, but we don’t frequent these types of restaurants often, so my opinion may be skewed.
Food was good....Waiter seemed out of it - really out of it and kind of impacted our first visit there.....would have order more beers if we were ever asked. Will go back, probably won’t rush back
We had a wonderful Valentines dinner and the food was fabulous. I rated it 4 stars on all because there is always room for improvement. Well done Tulunes.
Valentine's Couple special was indeed a great value. It was our first visit and we look forward to our next visit. 4 stars on service only because appetizer came out at the same time as salads and entree followed shortly thereafter...not a big deal.
We chose the Sirloin Steaks and they melted in your mouth. They were also seasoned perfectly and the service was out of this world as well! We would highly recommend going there and having a steak and is probably the best steak that we have had in quite some time!!!
We all really enjoyed the food and service at Tulunes. I would definitely recommend your place and when I am in the area will eat there again.
Steak was over cooked service was good until waiter was given a large group then hit or miss. Spent a lot of $ for a average first visit. Willing to try again
First visit for us. Absolutely outstanding! I cant say enough about how friendly and accommodating the entire staff was, especially Kris, our server. The food - out of this world!! Husband had the steak, Pittsburgh Rare and I had the Chesapeake Bay crab cakes. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will be back again. And again!!
Excellent and fine food! Love the atmosphere and service.
Visited the restaurant on New Years Eve with my wife. First, I feel like there was a lot of open seating in the main dining room when we arrived but we were seated in the backend of the restaurant near the restroom entrance. Second we felt the waitress didn't acknowledge us right away, took awhile for her to show up. My wife ordered the crab cakes which she liked. I ordered the New York strip which had to go back to the kitchen after arriving under cooked. Overall I would have to rate this place as just average.
This is a great place to dine! The martinis were great, the beers were some of the best and the dinner exceptional! We definitely will be back!!
We had a very good experience. Server was very knowledable, friendly and attentive. Three in our party had various steak meals all cooked to order and all stated how tender their steak was. One had the herbed chicken and said the flavor was infused clear to the bone. This was our first time there and will definitely be back.
Just barely average.
Great steaks. Nice place for a quiet evening and for celebrating special occasions. Unique food and desserts.
The atmosphere and service were nice. The food had good flavor. I had the fillet tips pasta with shallots and mushrooms. It was tasty but consisted of mostly noodles and the Gorgonzola cheese sauce, so if you’re craving more meat go with one of the steak and sides options. The housemade ranch dressing was tasty for the little side salad and the salad was crisp and fresh. Overall, it was a nice dining experience and I would return.
I ordered the prime rib on Sunday that must have been smoked Saturday or Friday at the waitresses recommendation. It was barely warm when it was served so by half way through it was cold. It had good flavor, but the temperature was very disappointing especially for the price of the meal. The rest of the meal was good.
Good solid food, service, cleanliness, pricing and very good beer options. Nice but not special. Glad to have it in the neighborhood.
I grew up in Johnstown and was in town visiting family and was needing a place to eat for Friday evening after a long day of shopping. We were directed to your establishment by word of mouth and couldnt of been more pleased. The atmosphere was quite calming and very relaxing. The food was divine and your server Lynette was superb. Keep up the good work. Customer service is so important and you guys nailed it. Thank you for investing into a struggling community. I look forward to my next meal at Tulunes!
Best kept secret in Johnstown. Don't let the outside appearance keep you from going in. Food and service was great.
My husband and I love Tulunes. We took friends there for their first experience and they loved it
We brought family from Seattle and we really happy to share this restaurant with them! We told them how unique it was and about the beer and they were not disappointed! We will definitely be back!! The food was excellent too!
When I made my reservation I had so many good expectations for this place!! The environment was very nice and friendly! The thing that annoyed me the most was a young kid who kept walking around us and I thought that was very uncomfortable because I kinda thought he was going to do something it was that weird and it was every five minutes or so we kept seeing him! The appetizers were good except the Cap’n Crunch chicken tenders they were not tasty at all and for 8.95 you only get three little pieces of chicken which was unexceptionable! The steak was amazing the problem was it was not seasoned and it was not well done as we requested instead of complaining we took our steak home and cooked it throughly!! Overall it was a nice place to eat but honestly for 120.00 bucks we should of left there full and smiling I think if this restaurant is going to succeed they need bigger portions and may I add paying for onions and butter is ridiculous that goes on the steak rightfully so in conclusion I enjoyed the experience but probably won’t go back anytime soon for the price you pay to have a nice dinner for two people is insane!!
The porterhouse, done mdeium, was one of the best cuts of steak I've ever had!
Best steaks we had in the area. Very nice and clean place.
The restaurant was Extremely accommodating. Very friendly! The service was great! Highly recommend this place when you are in Johnstown
Good menu and extensive beer list. Food on the pricier and however steak was severly under cooked (mid rare was ordered).
Best steak I’ve had in years. Definitely the best steak in Johnstown
We had great service she kept coming back and checking to make sure everything was good. The food was very good.
Food was great. Appetizers were the best ! Unable to get a cup of soup since waitress explained it was only served is bowls...not sure why? Extra charge to substitute side dishes.
Crab cakes and NY Strip were served beautifully. Taste was superb. Baked potato was old and should have been discarded. Beer is always poured short. But over all, I reccomend this place and will go back again and again, just for the mozzarella sticks.
