worst service i have ever received, waited 40 minutes for a table and never was accommodated for!
The food was impeccable and the server was very knowledge about the menu. She was friendly and patient. It was my second time here bringing a friend for his birthday. I will definitely come again. I highly recommend the queso fundido, the be elote, and the pozole ceviche as appetizers. I’ve tried the Xcaret and Cozumel enchiladas and they’re great. The chef also takes his time to greet his customers, as well as actively working with the restaurant staff.
Great Saturday night out -a very lively and positive atmosphere, excellent service and superlative food
This meal at Tulum was one of the worst meals I've had in years. It's a shame, coming from a restaurant that had been one of our favorites. First off, the original chef is gone, and so is the old menu, and it shows. The food this time was mostly miserable, with the worst dish being the Yucutan pork. It consisted of one small piece of very overcooked pork loin, and one huge piece of very undercooked pork fat. That might've been the single worst item of food I've ever had on a plate.
Everything else was mediocre to bad, but I have to point out one of the worst things I've ever seen a server do. One of our cocktails came out, and my wife tasted it, and thought it was terrible. Before we could say anything, the server came over and said she'd delivered us the wrong drink, and took it away. She then delivered that drink to another customer at another table, who started drinking it before we could jump up to tell him we'd already been drinking out of it. A server should NEVER take a drink from one table to another. There's no way we'll ever go back to Tulum.
Lively bar and overhead music. Good food but not really a place for a relaxing meal.
A great place with a fun atmosphere! The chef came out and made sure each guest was personally greeted and satisfied with their experience. A great restaurant overall!
Second Time back since they opened back in October. They've grown to be a great neighborhood spot with a keen detail for high quality food and drink.
They are experiencing the fluctuation pains of COVID nights and were slammed with only 1 bar tender for at least 50+ seated customers. But the servers were on top of making sure food comes out promptly and that dinner was supberb.
Good and service was excellent. Bathrooms were dirty, I notified an employee and they were never cleaned.
Beautiful spot in my neighborhood that I have been to a few times. On this particular night I was hosting a few work friends in town and I think they really enjoyed this place. I loved that any of the staff was happy to take photos of our group when asked. The inside is so well done for a perfect photo or two. Once we were at the table the service was ok, but the food was really good and priced to fit. Drinks were delish!
Excellent service, food was perfect in taste and presentation
Excellent service and the food was very good
One of the BEST restaurants I’ve ever been to the ceviche, guacamole, steak and lamb chops were amazing! So we’re the agave margaritas:)
The aesthetic was really nice. The food was okay. Brisket Mexican tacos are the best. Nice place but would not go back
There needs to be a new word for loudest restaurant other than "energetic". How about deafening. Octopus was excellent but enchiladas (we had two different kinds) are swimming in sauce to the point where the flavors are indistinct. Tasted fine, but not memorable.
Had great food and service. Will be back.
Wow, this Place is a gem! Food was out of this world amazing! Restaurant and ambiance truly creative and picture worthy! Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed brunch this afternoon - food was excellent! Very cute, trendy spot.
Customer service was just as bad as the food. Waited 30 minutes for our drinks to be brought to our table. And another 20 to put our order in. The waitress was too busy flirting with guys at the bar. We were sat next to a couple and the guy was so disgusting, he kept pushing his hands up the girls dress. It was so inappropriate. Took us almost 3 hours to order and get our food. For a high class restaurant I’d expect better service and food. This place was overrated.
A great experience!
Drinks were great and so were the appetizers! I didn’t really care for my dinner (salmon enchiladas) or the lamb chops! Beautiful restaurant:
The aesthetics are beautiful, you really feel like you're on vacation.
The service was excellent. Our server, Shaun made great recommendations. The chef came out and walked us through the menu when he found out one of our members needed GF options.
The food is delicious. It's NOT Tex Mex so keep that in mind. The menu is authentic Mexican and a nod to it's namesake city.
What we ordered:
✴️Avocado (guacamole- but it's not your traditional guac). Fresh and delicious.
✴️ Chicken Chilaquiles Verde - so yummy!
✴️passion fruit, raspberry, and mango 🥭 mimosas- made with fresh pressed juices.
Wonderful restaurant. Every bite was delicious.
Although our server was well-versed on the menu, she spent much time chatting with other staff members (including the chef) rather than being attentive to clients. So I would describe the service as "inconsistent." We were there for our anniversary (and described our visit as such in our reservation under "Special Occasion") but no mention was made of it by the staff. The food was very good so it will be interesting to see if that trumps the spotty service at a restaurant located so close to Highland Park, where expectations run high for service.
Delicious food at a beautiful setting. Food tastes authentic and drinks are great!
The chef came to our table and explained the menu in great detail. Great atmosphere!
Small menu and they didn’t have several items from the menu from appetizers to entrees to tacos.
Amazing food and atmosphere, Chef and Manager were outstanding!
Food average. $35 enchiladas!!!’
It's a cute and hip restaurant. I would say it's a little loud if you're going for an intimate environment but it would be nice for a gathering with a few friends. The food was very disappointing. The salsa was bitter, the avocado crab toast was rich and overwhelming, and the steak was rubbery, bland, and overcooked despite ordering medium rare. Absolutely not worth the money. Pretty disappointed with the experience unfortunately. I really wanted to like it.
The cocktails were great though.
Birthday dinner. The food and service were great!
Slow but friendly service, food could be much better not impressed with it, specially with the kind of chef they have in house, drinks are not well balanced at all, oh for sure they love coconuts it’s on everything. It looks like they don’t want their clientele to spend money. I could barely finish my second drink.
The food was excellent.
Excellent food and service
Ok atmosphere. Food was average at best. Drinks were too sweet.
Overcrowded and understaffed. The wait for entrees was nearly 2hrs and then the food was a bit bland. Not worth the wait nor the cost. Overall disappointing.
The food was creative, exciting and excellent.. just like the ambience, service and energy
The experience was great. Celebrated my anniversary and the Mrs. loved the restaurant.
Food was fantastic. One of the best meals I’ve had in this town. Service and skinny margs were great too
The food was good and very authentic
I was super excited to try this place because of the mezcal choices and our previous experience at the bar. There was 1 bartender and we were told he wasn’t very knowledgeable on mezcal and that was so sad for us considering their selection. Also, that we were better off choosing from the cocktails in the menu and not requesting mezcal as a base. Needless to say, my mezcal margarita was not very good. Our server was great but the food wasn’t that flavorful. The plating was very messy and not appealing. I’m a big foodie and formerly worked in the restaurant industry. Also, the catch of the day was breaded in brócoli and didn’t need it. I would come back but just to sit at the bar for cocktails.
Amazing food and ambiance! The decor is fantastic and food is sublime. Great dining experience! Coconut margarita was perfect!
