The ambiance of this place is great, but the prices far outweighed the quality of the food. If you're staying at the hotel it's nice and convenient, but definitely wouldn't make a special trip.
I’d refer due to location and excellent coffee. The service was okay, but it took almost 40 minutes to receive my omelet of which when I ordered the same thing via room service took 15 minutes. The host was clueless when it came to customer service, Didn’t even great us or apologize. The waiter felt bad, not his fault. It was t busy at all and there were at least five people in the kitchen. Then we were told they ran out of potatoes. The menu is so small, not sure how that happens. The food was very good but we were famished by the time we finally ate and the food was luke warm.
Food served cold. No anticipation by wait staff. "Oh, you wanted brown sugar, cream or butter with your oatmeal? And a spoon, too?"
Our food was outstanding, as was the service! Definitely recommend for brunch!
We went here for brunch. The ambiance is amazing and warm and welcoming. Comfy dining furniture and good food!
We were here for restaurant week.
The pumpkin/squash soup was probably the best we’ve ever had, it was so creamy and the flavors were perfectly balanced.
They have an in-house butcher, and try to use the whole animal. Most of their menu is locally sourced, our server said about 75%.
Our cocktails were also delicious, the carrot/coconut/whisky drink sounds odd, but it was the perfect combination of flavors; full bodied, mildly sweet, and full of flavor.
The service was amazing as well, our glasses were always full, and our server was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome and took care of our meal expertly.
We enjoyed everything. Phil was an excellent server.
Really enjoyed food and atmosphere. Parking in lot next door but was somewhat expensive. Server went overboard on telling us food was locally sourced. We appreciate the locally sourced food but mentioning it once would have been fine. We were told before ordering and told with each serving we were given. I understand it is a selling point but they don’t need to beat it to death. Pork sausage for appetizer was delicious cooked over fire. Salmon was good but the sauce made it super. Cheese ice cream for dessert was great along with krumkake!
Went for Restaurant week, and would to go back to experience whole menu. Food was good, cocktails were great, our server was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. It seemed like they were understaffed as our appetizers came and we sat without hearing from anyone for 30+ minutes with empty drinks as we both were wondering if they forgot about us before entrees came. Would give another shot
An inviting and busy urban setting in the North Loop. Pay street parking or valet for $16 at dinner. Lively atmosphere, but a bit noisy if you actually want to converse.
Fantastic food and the service to match. Went for restaurant week and would absolutely go back.
Had an absolutely fabulous experience. Worth every penny!
Great ambience. Very interesting decor! Very good service, paced well. The porkchop was tasty but a bit tough and a bit too salty for us. The root vegetables had too much apple. Excellent salad. Great soup and a big bowl at that. Very good toasted bread at $2.00 up charge.
Part of my pork chop was not done and our server never checked on us during any of the 3 courses and also forgot to bring my wine. I don't know if they just weren't ready for restaurant week or if Tullibee is usually inconsistent. Pros: The staff member who filled up water was much friendlier than our server and stopped by regularly and the apple rutabaga soup and the salmon were enjoyable
The food was good and the service was attentive but not intrusive. I would definitely recommend Tullibee for Brunch.
We were in town for the vikings game and to meet friends to celebrate their anniversary. This was our first time at the restaurant. We loved the creative menu and the locally sourced foods from farm to table.
Had a delicious charcuterie meat & cheese appetizer. Everyone really enjoyed their entree’s, market fish - monk fish, dry-aged flank steak and butchers cut 14oz ribeye. Tullibee has a nice bottle wine selection as well.
There’s no doubt that this restaurant is really expensive, but we have a phenomenal time every time we go. Our server was great! The food was spectacular, especially the beef tartare. Wine selections paired really well too. Good cocktails, great people watching, always a good choice for a special occasion.
Tullibee provided one of the best brunch experiences I have ever had, and I've been brunching many years in many cities with great food. (They've got a butcher in house and everything is local/regional, so that is an excellent start.) Our server was wonderful – incredibly personable, funny, and knowledgable. Everything our group of 6 ate was exquisite: the lefse (the chef's grandma's recipe we were told), the pancakes, the brisket hash, Monte Cristo (made with waffles instead of bread!), and the 8-herb bloody Mary's. All in a beautiful, bright, open space. A+. If I lived in Minneapolis, I think I'd come here every weekend. :-)
The decor is lovely and the food lives up to its reviews and reputation. We did not get the table we wanted and the restaurant was very noisy.
Your menu caused much confusion ... is there a problem calling sections by their recognizable names?
When you charge the prices Tullibee charges, we should not have to think about our choices for 20 minutes.
We shared 1 entree, 2 sides and dessert- all of it was so delicious! Our server, Philip, was attentive without hovering, helped us make decisions about cocktails, food and port- he k ew his stuff and all his recommendations were spot on!
Thank you Philip for the loose leaf mint tea on a cold fall day
Food was great but was not timed well in terms of delivery
Otherwise, great meal - server Phil was good, but a bit over matched
Wonderful birthday dinner. The waiter was informative and sociable. The food was wonderful, well presented, and seasonal. Great overall experience!
Great food, great drinks, great experience. Check out the rooftop bar after dinner for a perfect view of the city
There are restaurants I would recommend before this one.
I energetically recommend Tullibee! We had such a fabulous time with our waitress Kate who was knowledgable, helpful, and extremely fun. She set the tone for the whole night. There were 4 of us and the food was so good we ended up sharing everything, which was anywhere between excellent and out of this world! Can't wait to get back.
Loud pricey good food small portions
Very quaint spot with top notch service. Food was delicious (best for meat eaters). Ambiance was pleasant, but you can't escape that you're in a hotel (which you may not mind). Premium prices, but for the most part, worth the bill.
We took a friend to Tullibee who was in the Cities in business. This man travels the world eating in fine dining establishments. He was very impressed. The evening started at the roof top bar on a 75 degree September evening. Super nice patio with a great view of the city. The scallops were beyond fabulous, the risotto was excellent, and the 14 oz rib eye the waitress suggested was cooked exactly the way we requested. Very tasty. She suggested we order the rib eye and share it family style. Great idea. We will be back.
The food felt very fancy and upscale so it was perfect for our anniversary! The cocktails were so unique and delicious!
We had a great meal and a fun time. The hostess, however, was extremely rude to us.
The ambiance at the Hewing was wonderful. Very unique and fun. I would say that I wasn't as impressed with food as I thought I would be. I have been looking forward to dining at the Hewing/Tulibee and wasn't necessarily blown away. Maybe it was my food choice or maybe they offer better food at dinner or lunch but the brunch was just alright.
Super friendly staff, tasty food, and comfortable atmosphere.
Fantastic. Loved it so much we went back the next night. The duck breast was out of this world. The broccolini and risotto were also outstanding. And best old fashions. We loved the atmosphere and design as well. Go!
Excellent food; great service; a bit pricey, but the unique dishes were worth the cost.
Enjoyed the first visit to the Hewing, including a quick elevator ride to the roof to experience be a jaw-dropping view of the downtown skyline. As for Tullibee, it was a good experience. We enjoyed the restaurant setting and very much appreciated the palatable acoustics/noise level, a dining factor that gets increasingly more frustrating. The waitperson, Phillip, was excellent in relevant categories (attentiveness, good communication skills in providing food information, charming demeanor). The food was very good. I might have expected more of the $60 steak, but the halibut was fine and the sides adventurous.
Food was very unique and flavorful but a bit expensive.
beautiful and delicious dining. highly recommended
