Lovely food, great service and cocktails.
Our dinner server was Kate V. I believe - I read her name off our receipt. Older women with a ponytail. She said some rude things to us like "No don't order that, I don't recommend that, or I wouldn't be doing my job". She tried to really upsell us, even though our bill was $106, it felt like we weren't ordering enough, or we were being cheap. She just made multiple off putting comments- like when we ordered apple pie for dessert, she said "oh, just one?" And at one point she came over to get the check and said she was sorry, "she just COULDN'T GET AWAY from this other table"- like in an exasperated way. It was really just a turn off. It felt like her service was fake, and wasn't very genuine. It was really disappointing.
We went out to celebrate my 35th birthday, and it was a beautiful meal with expert service and cozy ambiance. Couldn’t have asked for better!
It was totally FINE!
Don't be put off by the fact that this is a restaurant in a hotel. This is a chef-driven restaurant in an impressive space just off the lobby/bar area. We were there on New Year's Eve, so it was a Prix Fixe Menu. Every course was impressive and after a quick chat with the chef they handled a food allergy at our table without issue. The risotto was a personal fave. Impressive service, fun atmosphere and great food. Check them out!
We had reservations for a NYE fixed menu. There were several courses and each was a good portion size, we were full by the end. The optional wine pairing was reasonably priced. Our server was very attentive. The food was very good!
Worst decaf coffee ever. No decaf espresso beans!
The atmosphere is incredible. The service is great. The food is alright. They get a little extra points for the presentation which is clearly a focus.
This was one of the first meals I've had in my life where I preferred the vegetables to the main course. And when you're ordering steak, you expect that to be the showstopper. It wasn't. Not a great flavor at all.
Overall, its way overpriced for what you get. I wouldn't tell anyone to go here for more than just drinks.
Also, please tell you cooks to stop eating with the hands they are preparing food with. You have an open kitchen. We can see you eating...that glove on your hand is no longer clean after entering your mouth. gross.
Great vibe and atmosphere! Will definitely be back.
Our server, Phil, provided top notch service and kept us updated with the food readiness. My friends raved about the Tullibee Old Fashioned, my Behind the Mask was just OK. The Kale and Apple salad was fresh and tasty, the Roasted Baby Beets salad was beautifully presented and tested just as good, the Charcuterie plate was nicely plated and my wife loved the ham! I ordered the Fish in Chips and I was not disappointed. The Mushroom Risotto with Scallops was fantastic, my friend did not care for the wild rice included in the risotto. All in all, we always got great service and good food every time we visit Tullibee. Check it out.
Chose to celebrate our first Christmas together at Tullibee last night with my other half, and we can’t stop talking about it. The prix fixe menu was outstanding. Every dish came out perfectly and at an even pace. The menu started with toast and whitefish spread which was seasoned perfectly. Not too salty and definitely not bland. It was followed by an exquisite soup and delicious salad, there was a duck dish with home made pasta, tasty sausage, potatoes and raclette, salmon and beets, and the most tender lamb I’ve ever had. The finale was a chocolate Yule log that was not too sweet and incredibly decadent.
Our drinks were tasty and Meredith was a sweet heart. We had a wonderful time and look forward to making Tullibee our go-to spot in Minneapolis when in town.
Chef, staff, and everyone else who contributed... Thank you so much for putting this experience together!
Went there for Christmas supper and the place was lively! The special Christmas menu was delicious, we ended taking half of it home because there was so much food.
Christmas Day - special menu was 5 courses. Absolutely delicious food. Our server was attentive, however the kitchen was slow getting food out. As a result - we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation and it took an additional 30 minutes to start being served our food. Chalk it up to it being a holiday and likely they were short staffed. I'd go back in a heartbeat!
Christmas dinner was excellent
Christmas dinner was very special for our family.
However, when I called for reservations for four people for the Christmas Dinner I was NOT told dinner was not being served until late afternoon. I believe I then made the reservation at Open Table for 1:30. When making the reservation I do not recall any notice on the site that dinner was NOT being served at that hour.
Upon being seated we were astonished when the table had the brunch menu. The waiter told us about dinner not being served until 5:30! This took us by surprise! It was not convenient to make other plans so we had Christmas Brunch....the waiter was understanding, service was excellent, drinks and food were very good.
Great vibe and delicious food.
Wait staff helpful and cheerful
Will be back!
Food is a little expensive for portion size. But the quality of food and atmosphere was, hands down, one of the best in Minneapolis.
Such a lovely place. Really wish the menu & food quality matched. Very unexciting & bland brunch offerings. Maybe just do drinks & skip food.
I didn’t know what to expect having dinner on Christmas Eve, but it was very nice. The service was a little slower than I’d previously experienced, but that was to be expected with the large volume of patrons. Excellent food!
This was our third time to try Tullibee's ad we are still disappointed. It is a beautiful space with a creative menu and potential for really good food. Unfortunately, the restaurant is poorly managed. The staff is not very well trained and all 3 times there has been confusion for us and others abut reservations and waiting times for tables when there appear to be plenty of empty tables. This might be because they do not staff to appropriate levels or the fact that there staff is not very well trained or efficient. When the food did arrive this time it was lukewarm at best, probably because it was waiting so long for our server. The neighboring table complained loudly about the slow service but that did not help them or us. And for every restaurant manager out there, please note that if a waiter's butt has to be on one table while they are dealing with the adjoining table your tables are too close together.
Unfortunately lamb chops were mutton and the duck was undercooked and so chewy it wasn't edible. Both had great flavor but didn't meat with the billing. Nor did our server. Major organization issues with missing items and misdeliverwd meals, drinks and checks. Got to know the neighbor tables a bit! A lovely atmosphere but otherwise disappointing.
Festive holiday atmosphere. Food was great. Service was very pleasant and friendly but could have been quicker/more responsive.
Went here with my girlfriend before going to a show in Northeast, it was the first time either of us had dined here. I'm not always super into restaurants that are in hotels, but this was definitely different. Our server was excellent and asked right off the top about timing, allowing us to mention having tickets to a play at 7:30. We tried at least a couple of different things from each section of menu and everything we had was good to excellent - as were selections from the drink menu, including non-alcoholic options. I would highly recommend Tullibee to anyone looking for a great dinner out.
We absolutely love the atmosphere at Tullibee. Their bar/lobby is our favorite in the city with excellent cocktails, and really good bar food. The restaurant is nice with a fairly creative menu (I wished they changed up the dry-aged steak option for ~$70, way out of my budget) and friendly/welcoming staff. We love how unpretentious the Hewing is even though it could be. We'll be back!
The food and service were great, but a little over priced and it would be nice if they offered a discount on their valet parking when you come there just for lunch.
The service wasn’t very fast.
The menu choices were great, the flavors sublime, and the meat very tender. Despite ordering several courses, it seemed our main server lost her level of attentiveness, after our entrees were served, despite promising to "check back" with us. She left my empty plate sitting on the table and did not remove it until my husband had finished and did not ask us if we wanted another bottle of water. By the way, for those who do not drink alcohol, Tullibee should consider getting San Pellegrino or another type of water that actually has bubbles; especially, if they are going to charge $8 per bottle for what is actually still water. Finally, after a 3-course meal, it would be a nice idea to have a citrus-type or berry sorbet to cleanse the palate, rather than 4 heavy dessert choices. Who really orders bundt cake after eating red meat?
Best Egg Benedict we ever had in a very friendly atomosphere
First and second courses were amazing. We shared the beet salad and celery root stuffed pasta on duck raging. Both so good and flavorful. Excellent waitress Meridith told of the steak special aged 120 days. The steak looks great bu had a touch chewy side running through ion one side. They took it back no issues and apologized or the cut as could see the issue with the steak.
The service and atmosphere were great. The food was not memorable. The only items I would order again: Duck fat fries from the bar menu and the kale salad. The ham board was good, but I could take it or leave it. The risotto was a disappointment. It was a mix of wild rice and Arborio rice, but the wild rice texture doesn’t create the creaminess you expect from a risotto. We added sea scallops at our servers suggestion that were overly salty. We also got the flat iron steak which came as 2, 3 ounce (that’s a generous guess) cuts and a small side of winter squash and 1 small roasted carrot for $37 dollars. The temperature on the meat was slightly warm. For the serving size, $25 for the plate would still feel generous. I’ve had meals at other comparable downtown boutique hotels that I would return to first before recommending Tullibee.
Service is poor, takes to long between courses. We ordered a drink before dinner, our server did not offer another drink when our food came. Salad was good but the entree poor. We ordered the market rate steak and I felt the cut was very poor and not prepared well. The building is beautiful and the dining room is comfortable.
It was delicious except for line at valet parking, but it was peak time Saturday night
Food and service were fabulous; not the Scandinavian/Swedish cuisine I recall (from my travels) but wonderful nevertheless.
Delicious, beautifully plated food. Great vegan option--would have liked a more obvious call out on the menu for other options. Wait staff courteous, water filled frequently, check delivered quickly upon request. Affordable lunch option, too, which was a pleasant surprise!
Had the omelette, bacon, waffles and Bloody Mary. All amazing. Great service and excellent food. Surprised this place isn’t packed for brunch it’s so good
Loved the atmosphere but food was disappointing. Even simple drinks were not made well. Expected a lot more for the price point.
The Denver steak was over priced, under cooked and overall chewy.
