Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft Ratings and Reviews
So disappointed. Pat was a horrible server. She was so slow. We waited forever. Hostess oversaw the area. Took 20+ minutes to order desserts after we finished our meal. I think our party of 7 guaranteed a billed tipped. That’s another reason I am not a fan. Tips should be based on service. When a server gets a guaranteed tip the service seems to slip off.
Food was tasty, but too "sweet". Both the noodle dish that I got and my wife's beef soup we're too sweet. We think this may not be by accident, if the restaurant is trying to appeal to a specific type of client, not as concerned with staying more traditional. The food was good, and the decor was / ambiance was very nice. But the sweetness just wasn't to our liking.
Tuk Tuk Thai Atlanta was a pleasant surprise. I had known of the restaurant for years but had never thought to attend. I would recommend this restaurant for get togethers, drinks and certainly for date night. The food is quite tasty and the service is impeccable.
The food is great and the environment is really good, too. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The server was very inattentive and extremely quick to leave the table before questions were asked of her. Two of our four entrees were brought to the table and ten minutes passed before the other two peoples’ entrees were delivered. During that time we tried to flag down the waitress twice and she pretty clearly ignored both attempts and wouldn’t even look our direction. Appetizer plates were left on our table until the end of the meal. Again - great food and a great place - but service needs much work. Will not go back for anything more than a casual meal for two.
Food was fantastic! Wait staff was very nice however several of them did not seem to be properly trianed in food service etiquette, they handed you your drinks and plates of food into your hands rather than placing them on the table in front of you. Half of our guest were served their entree and waited for the remaining guests to be served, after a long wait we urged them to eat so thier food did not get cold. The final two remaining plates were served just as the first guests in our party were finishing up eating theirs. Our party of six was seated at the only table with hard seat chairs, while we all looked out at a half empty dining room, all of which had comfortable red cushioned chairs. One chair we had even broke when we sat down. Also we got seated in the corridor area path to the exclusive back dining room with lots of swinging doors and foot traffic. I got whacked by the door once when I leaned back. After all that, the bill came through with a 20% tip added to the total, they were assuming we felt the service was excellent. Adjustments needed to be made. Although we didn't let these faults ruin our evening event, the restaurant missed the mark on several counts. Perhaps they summed us up at the door and it was our 4 younger college students in the group that they felt could be treated with less than first class service. It could have been a excellent night out but I wouldn't return after so many miss steps.
This is our neighborhood Thai restaurant, we go there by ourselves or friends. The food is good and (as far as I can tell) authentic. But most importantly the food quality and taste is consistent. Service is great, the facilities are spotless. Definitely recommended.
