Tujague's is the second oldest restaurant in New Orleans. This French Quarter institution has been serving traditional New Orleans cuisine to locals and visitors alike for more than 160 years.

Lore states that brunch originated here, as did the Grasshopper cocktail. Homages to the restaurant's long and colorful history abound within the interior of the building from the classic 19th century architecture to memorabilia on the walls.

Menu items such as the seared gulf fish and the daily gumbo meld French traditions with New Orleans fare and flare. Our famous five course menu is still served nightly; but have no fear, the menu is no longer pre-fixe, so those less ravenous diners can join in too.

    The food was great! Unfortunately the Sat is next to a very large party who were very loud and took up a lot of our waiter time. Not his fault, but we felt the service suffered and the hostess should have seated us else where.

    I cannot stress enough how fantastic the service and food was here. Amazing. I think I’m coming back tomorrow since I’m in town. Ps, the gumbo shouldn’t be passed up. Or a Grasshopper

    Went in for an early dinner before going hotel lobby hopping. Everything was 5 stars from drinks to dessert. Service was on point. I definitely will be back sooner than later.

    Went for Thanksgiving- meal was stone cold and steak was raw - not rare raw- ordered it medium. Service was awful - like “here.” Paid $65 for a cold meal -raw steak and service that made us feel as if we were inconveniencing them. Had heard how great it was and a New Orleans mainstay - got a better meal at the airport! Buyer beware.

    Thanksgiving dinner: had a special $65 menu. Started with Gumbo which was very good, but the main course (I chose Traditional Turkey dinner) was very average. But they finished us off with a Pumpkin dessert which was excellent even though I'm not a fan of pumpkin. Overall the place had a nice vibe and good food but I wouldn't say it reflects the price.

    Keeping in mind it was Thanksgiving dinner and 7 p.m. The crowd was lively but dressed poorly and had horrible table manners (I'm a bit old school). The staff was kind , courteous and VERY welcoming. Very professional and were always checking to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. It was BUSY! I can't wait to go back for a non holiday meal. Did I mention the Thanksgiving menu was excellent. Great choices and cooked to perfection.

    Dined for Thanksgiving, had 6:30 pm reservations but not seated until 7:20 pm. Food was good, but only lukewarm. Might try again not during a holiday.

    Thanksgiving special was excellent and the quality we expected from this venerable institution. We had our usual friendly waitress. The only downside for us was the Thanksgiving crowd. There was a log jam at the entrance and the large number of diners made the experience more like a cafeteria than a fine dining experience. We will go back to Tujague’s because it is one of our favorites but never on a Holiday.

    My husband and I visited Tujague's for Thanksgiving dinner and it was a major disappointment. The turkey dinner was terrible, not fresh and doubtful that the restaurant even prepared the turkey since the plates brought out were all evenly thin-sliced breast pieces. The sides were awful too, cold and unappealing. The oyster dressing was fishy, the mashed potatoes cold, the cranberry sauce was not homemade fresh. It seemed like everything was prepared a couple weeks ahead of time and then reheated to serve. The plates had been sitting for some time before it got to our table on top of all that. I expect so much more for the cost of $65 a plate in a town famous for it's food. It's a joke that this dinner for two people, that was less quality than a typical diner, cost over $200 including 2 cocktails and 2 sodas. What the heck? Only redeeming part of this experience was the servers, who were super busy but extremely nice. I will never visit Tujague's New Orleans restaurant again and would warn anyone to avoid this place and visit some of the awesome restaurants in town instead. Luckily, we did find a couple of great places this same weekend.

    We were subjected to 45 minutes delay after 5 pm reserved and acknowledged reservation time. We inquired 3 times about the delay and were given the same answer: "You will be notified when your table is ready." Numerous couples who arrived after us were seated before us. There were no chairs, and we suffered from back pain after such a long waiting time. Finally they admitted that they "lost" us! Really?

    We visited on Thanksgiving day at 4 pm. Very hectic upon arrival. There was a set menu. My husband and l had turkey. It was not hot and tasteless.My daughters pork was raw. We brought it to the waitress attention and she got a manager...they did remove it from the bill. Just was a rushed environment. Very dissapointed.

    Fantastic Thanksgiving meal. Excellent bartender and drinks followed by a wonderful meal. Hands down the best gumbo and best Gulf Fish Almandine I’ve ever had … and that’s saying something as a New Orleans native. A wonderful, memorable experience!!

    Nice servers but terrible service and all of our food was cold. Everything we asked for was either not brought or had to be asked for like 3-4 times. We had a group of 11 and couldn’t get wine for about 30 minutes which set the tone for the rest of our time there. So unfortunate as Tujagues was our spot when we lived in NOLA years ago

    The turtle soup was so flavorful as was the fish and the chocolate mousse was divine. My friend had the wedge salad which she really enjoyed pls the fish and the mousse. My only complaint was the French 75 cocktail i had. I didn't realize it had simple syrup . It was way too sweet.

    We wanted to have a meal in a place that balanced history with quality, and we found it at Tujagues. Our lovely server Chipo (sp?) was solicitous without being overbearing and helped to create a relaxing evening where we enjoyed the finest reduction sauce I've ever had! Happened to see a wedding couple coming in for a photo shoot, so you know the place itself is lovely in decor. What a lovely first night's meal in the Big Easy!

    Food was good, service was horrendous. Three servers who managed to mess up. The first forgot a second round of drinks, didn't take our entrees order until after we were done eating appetizers, and couldn't recommend how a steak could be done and said 'any way you want' (great, well done it is!). the second was asked if any of the desserts had fruits, said no, then when pressed remembered the bread pudding had bananas, we asked without, then served the creme brûlée with blueberries, saying she was 'too focused on the bananas and forgot. the third was asked to send a round of shots for a birthday with dessert and forgot. then the first proceeded to give us the wrong check. i wouldn't go back for the service issues alone, which is a shame because the food was good. the restaurant wasn't even busy to justify this service.

    The meal at Tujaque's was wonderful! My wife and I each had a bowl of the Chicken and Andouille Gumbo and it was quite nice and tasty. We then shared the Eggs Benedict which was a new twist on that dish with a slice of pork loin. We ate in the courtyard area and is was nice and quiet. We enjoyed the ambiance and the delicious food and also the cocktails. We would both recommend the bruch at Tujaque's.

    By far the best meal I've had in new orleans... Jimmy Buffett knew what he was doing. I hate that duck wasn't on the menu but the crab cake was the largest I've ever seen with no filling.

    Overall good food, service and ambience. Only issue, which brought the experience down to a 3.5-4 stars was that they brought me the wrong order and took a long time to make the correct one - I waited while my table finished all their meals before I even started mine. And unfortunately there was no sense of urgency or apology for this, they didn’t even offer to bring me a drink or something else while I waited.

    The only meal I've had in NOLA that was fair. Food was delivered hot, but it had little taste. We were seated at a table with one half empty water glass left from a previous diner. It was melted and placed on the wrong side for water service. So this wasn't a fresh glass. Very disappointing $77 lunch. We chose the restaurant based on the length of time the restaurant was operational. The wait staff was friendly.

    Unexpected find... upper dining room was busy & loud but they seated us in the lower dining room that we had to ourselves. The Maitre D was a delightful and interesting fellow with good info about NOLA!

    We went early so it wasn’t crowded and easy to have a conversation. Not sure how it would be later. The food was excellent. I had the crab cake. The service was outstanding. The servers were friendly and attentive. I would come here again and come hungry this time so I can try the entrees.

    The food was not great at all. The wedge salad dressing was coating everything and it was definitely not homemade. The covered it in black pepper to help camouflage the taste. The gumbo was terrible. We have had better gumbo from the grocery store. The flavor was seriously lacking. The kitchen cannot and will not accommodate many food allergies. They just simply tell you what you cannot have. I was offered plain grilled chicken. I was told they couldn’t use butter or anything to season it. Our waitress had several other tables and was so occupied in setting up for a large party she kind of forgot about us. There was supposed to be another server helping her but he never came over. The ambience has turned into a social media post. You are paying French quarter prices for sub par food.
