Tujague's is the second oldest restaurant in New Orleans. This French Quarter institution has been serving traditional New Orleans cuisine to locals and visitors alike for more than 160 years.

Lore states that brunch originated here, as did the Grasshopper cocktail. Homages to the restaurant's long and colorful history abound within the interior of the building from the classic 19th century architecture to memorabilia on the walls.

Menu items such as the seared gulf fish and the daily gumbo meld French traditions with New Orleans fare and flare. Our famous five course menu is still served nightly; but have no fear, the menu is no longer pre-fixe, so those less ravenous diners can join in too.

If you want a quintessential New Orleans experience filled with history and local fare, Tujague's is your place.

Second oldest restaurant in New Orleans. Not as elegant or historic as I expected. We specifically asked the waiter to pace our meal. Wanted drinks, appetizers, entree, with time between each to enjoy. He assured us this would happen. Appetizers came right out, drinks arrived as we were finishing appetizers, and entree arrived moments after drinks. All in about a 15 minute window. Apparently there was a large party upstairs, and we were not a priority. Food was good, not great. I would not recommend, especially for the price.

Wow! We have been eating our way through New Orleans, particularly the French quarter, and this may have been the very best meal we had. We did the package that included house, salad, soup, shrimp, remoulade on a fried green tomato, our choice of entrée and bread pudding. Three of us in the party had the scallops, I’m from Chicago, I know food, I have never taste scallops, that delicious! It was unbelievably, one course was better than the next. I cannot recommend this place enough!

We went for mothers day. The menu and food was absolutely wonderful. I would say the service was a little off. Not rude or anything just kind of discombobulated. Speaker in the room was turned up extremely loud which was right over our table but they turned it down a few notches when we asked. Overall I would say it was great and we would definitely be back.

Had anniversary dinner there. Started with turtle soup. Excellent! Shrimp and grits were next level. I got the duck. Was ok. Too fatty for me. Dessert was creme brûlée. Outstanding! Great ambience. Noise level was low, but it was a Thursday night. May get loud on weekends. Service was quick and attentive. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience. Would go again.

Amazing experience. Started with drinks and some delicious apps. I had the soup of the day which was so good. Entree and dessert was perfect as well. Everything from start to finish was A+. Can’t wait for another reason to go back. Our waitress was brand new and she did a fantastic job.

It was very loud in the dining room, so loud it was difficult to speak to each other across a small table. Our server brought my wife's appetizer and entre all at once, and before I was served anything. Crabcakes were dead cold and were sent back. Soup was delicious but barely warm. Fish was very good, but again, barely warm. It seemed our food sat somewhere for a good long time before it was brought to the table. Altogether a disappointing dinner.

The service was terrible. We got dinner before our drinks came. Basically an hour after we ordered we got drinks and that was after 3 requests. Meals came out only warm, not hot. A few orders were forgotten.

Finally trying this establishment out, but unfortunately in their smaller, newer location having never been to the original, so I don't have a baseline for food and service. My favorite thing to say about our night was that the cocktails were next to perfect. The #1 Sazerac was leagues better than the one I had earlier in the night elsewhere, and the grasshopper and devil's net were excellent too. The space seemed a little tight yet less intimate than I'd imagined, so I hope they're able to get back into the old building soon. Dinner was very filling and solid, but nothing there blew me away.

Wow! This hit all the right spots. Cocktails (may have waited a bit for them) but very delicious. Descriptions were accurate as the what to expect. House wine was delicious. Started with the escargot that had a wonderful sauce and yummy mushrooms that really made the dish. Perfectly cooked. Went on to the pork belly that had an almost Asian flair between the flavors and the presentation. Quite tasty. For our entrees we ordered the duck and the scallops. The duck was cooked perfectly. Now the scallops… they melted in your mouth. Not sure what the sauce was made of. It was tomato based, but with the crispy bacon, this was a heavenly combination. Unfortunately we did not make it to dessert, but I’m sure this would have been just as wonderful as the rest of the meal.

Looking forward to dining at Tujague's after Jazz Fest on April 28. Reviews were promising. We were disappointed with the seasoning of the crab cake that we had as an appetizer. It did not taste spicy or seasoned at all and temperature was luke war. Also, the mashed potatoes were bland and not hot when served. I did like the shrimp and grits. With so many excellent restaurants to choose from, Tujague's was a one and one for me.

It was my mother’s 73 Birthday. From the moment we walked into Tujague’s New Orleans, we were greeted with smiles and great enegry. The server, Deion, was abssoutley delightful educating us on the best seletion on the menu. We all enjoyed our meal from the Pork Chops, Guld Fish Beinville, to the Shrimp & Grits. We did not try the Grasshopper, however, each of our cocktails was made just perfect for us. My next trip to New Orleans, Tujague’s New Orleans is on my list.

Seated in area partitioned off from bar instead of main section of restaurant. Very loud. Tiled floor amplifies sound levels. Had to request manager to ask one table to reduce the volume of their talking , which was at a shouting level, to a more moderate level. Food mediocre.
