Tujague's - New Orleans
Lore states that brunch originated here, as did the Grasshopper cocktail. Homages to the restaurant's long and colorful history abound within the interior of the building from the classic 19th century architecture to memorabilia on the walls.
Menu items such as the seared gulf fish and the daily gumbo meld French traditions with New Orleans fare and flare. Our famous five course menu is still served nightly; but have no fear, the menu is no longer pre-fixe, so those less ravenous diners can join in too.
If you want a quintessential New Orleans experience filled with history and local fare, Tujague's is your place.

Enjoyed dinner for 8 on a weeknight and were seated at a great banquet in the main dining room. Randy, our server, is very knowledgeable and excellent guide for wine and food selections. I highly recommend the Oysters Braden, fried oysters with an excellent butter sauce and the Gulf Fish Decatur, which was Redfish on my visit. Be sure to check out the 2nd floor Iris room to see the beautiful Mardi Gras mural and balcony.
Our Oyster's Braden is one of my favorites! You chose well. Thank you for your 5 star review. We hope to see you soon!
This is a trip for our our youngest grandchild. She selected the restaurant because of the history with the ghost. Saw no ghost, but had a delicious lunch. We will recommend it to all of our friends coming to New Orleans.
We are sorry that you didn't get to meet Julian (the ghost), but he is well and still visits. We are also elated that you enjoyed your visit, and were proud to have TONS of history to offer! Thank you for your kind words and we hope to see you again soon.
Great service and loved the new location. Shrimp and grits was delicious!
Thank you for visiting.
We love the new location and atmosphere. Everything is so nice. We are repeat visitors over the past 28 years. Staff were very friendly but service was slow. We sat a while before anyone came to help us. Bread was slow to come out and we asked for more but never got it. Even getting a bill to pay was slow. There were apparently some larger parties so I guess that was a problem for the wait staff. They just seemed confused and even brought our appetizers to the wrong table. But the food was delicious and despite the slow service we will go back.
The atmosphere was very different from my expectations.
Overall good dining experience. It was a really lengthy dinner-over 2 hours- but we enjoyed it.
The wait time was quick, the service was friendly and quick. The food was very tasty.
Thank you for your visit and we hope to see you soon.
Great food. Service was slow but good. Too many tables per waitress.
Went for coolinary- great food
Thank you for visiting!

Thank you for visiting.
Fresh flavorful selections.
Randy is the quintessential New Orleans server.
Thank you for coming in!
We wanted one quiet evening while in New Orleans. Tujaques was the perfect setting for conversation, drinks and a wonderful meal. Everyone from the front to the bar to our server were pleasant and added to the evening . Can’t wait to return.
Christine, thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed everything!!
While I loved the old space, the new restaurant held the charm that is Tujague’s. The food, wine, service was excellent. I will miss the old bar though. All they could bring with them was the foot railing of the old bar Tujague’s is my favorite brunch and their dinner menu did not disappoint.
Thank you for coming in! We miss the old bar too!
Great brunch and service for a large group. Would absolutely recommend. The shrimp and grits were phenomenal!
Thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed the shrimp and grits!!
We were a group of 12 for brunch on Sunday. The entire staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Must haves include the charbroiled oysters, Brussel sprouts, and gumbo for appetizers, the eggs Orleans and shrimp and grits for the mains. The Bloody Mary's were delicious! Overall, a great experience.
Jeff, thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed brunch at Tujague's!!
Great food. Service good
Thank you for dining at Tujague's!
Absolutely the worst evening we had in New Orleans. I was raised in New Orleans and have visited multiple times over the years we went back for my daughters engagement and chose to celebrate one evening here. We were seated at 8:30 didn’t receive food until 10:00. No bread, water once and one tea refill. We had 1 cocktail each and were a party of 6. No bus service and our waiter was non existent for most of the evening. We spoke to the manager who promptly had our food delivered. We were comped our meal, but would not return. What happened to the old Tujague? Service should always be a priority and you can’t always blame it on the pandemic. Several other tables around us had the same opinion.
Wow! Literally the worst culinary experience in New Orleans. They have moved locations and don’t have the staff. We waited an hour for appetizers abs they missed one appetizer. We were there almost 3 hours! Food was mediocre. We cleared our own table! Won’t be back.
Liz, I am so sorry that your dining experience at Tujague's was such a disappointment! This is certainly not what we strive for and it's clear that we completely missed the mark. There is no reason that you should have to wait so long for your food. All I can say is that we are very sorry. I'm not sure if you are local or not, but we would like to invite you back in as our guests to make up for this. We'd like to prove that we can do much better and offer you an enjoyable complimentary dinner.
The service was perfect. Brittany took care of us as a group of 6. The food was good but not great. No overall complaints
Thank you for coming in!
I really love this restaurant! I remembered it from my first encounter at it's original location in 2008. Even though it's not at its original location, it has an incredible history. I had the lamb chops, which were out of this world!!! Seriously...you need to put this in your mouth! The pairings on the plate of goat cheese and beets (if I remember correctly) were absolutely amazing! One of the most enjoyable meals I have ever had. Our waiter, Mark, was the absolute MAN! He helped me pick the perfect wine for the chops and introduced us to the Sazerac. He needs to be paid more money as he is irreplaceable thanks to his knowledge of food and wine pairings! Both his father and grandfather were Tujagues regulars...amazing! Although our service started off slow, he made the night. The other great thing about this restaurant is that they have great seating capacity, which really helps in a city like NOLA. The seating capacity was so helpful that we came back the next morning for brunch!!! Again, our experience was great! Tujagues, should be your go to restaurant in NOLA! I can't wait to eat here again and I will always ask for Mark at dinner and Brandon for brunch.
Thank you for dining at Tujague's! We are so glad that you enjoyed everything!! We are so lucky to have both Mark and Brandon on our team!!
Always a great experience. This was our first time at the new location and we were not disappointed
Patrick, thank you for coming in!
First time to eat at the new location and it was an uplifting experience. Great clean atmosphere while still maintaining its classic old New Orleans vibe. The food was very good and the servers worked as a great team. Will definitely put Tujagues on the short list of go to places.
Thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed Tujague's!
Service was slow and disorganized. Both the fish and the chicken were dry despite the sauce being excellent.
Thank you for coming in. We apologize that your dining experience at Tujague's was a disappointment. There is no excuse for slow and disorganized service. This is something that we will be discussing as a management team in order to make improvements. We will also share your feedback about the chicken and fish dishes so that we can improve the cookery of those two items. We hope that you decide to give us another chance. If so, we would love to prove that we can offer a much better experience.
Servers were very helpful and attentive. Food was excellent. An item I specifically went there for was unavailable, but the suggested substitution was spot on.
Linda, thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed the substitution. What was the item that you originally wanted?
Went here for a family dinner with my family and parents as we wrapped up a vacation. We had a very enjoyable dinner with attentive staff and tasty food throughout. Being a holiday weekend, service was a bit slow at the bar, and it took us a while to get our drinks. We were seated upstairs close to a large party, and they were super loud. Perhaps that’s the norm in that particular space, but we couldn’t even hear each other at our own table. I doubt if it’s like that on most days, but it was a distraction on that day. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.
Mac, thank you for dining at Tujague's! We are happy to hear that overall you had an enjoyable time. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share this information with our team in order to make improvements in the future.
Good food..slow and disorganized...slow on drinks and staff friendly
Renee, thank you for coming in! We apologize that your experience included slow and disorganized staff. We are certainly working to make improvements and hire more staff so that we may provide a better experience for everyone.
Lovely dinner and exceptional service!
Sherri, thank you for dining at Tujague's!
service a 100% , will be back and refer friends and family
Kenneth, thank you for coming in!
Sever was amazing. So was the food. This is the spot to go.
Thank you for dining at Tujague's!
Overall it is a very nice restaurant and I’m glad I went. The food was very good - at least 4, but not 5, out of 5. The Brussels sprouts were incredible. One of the best things I’ve eaten in New Orleans. The filet of fresh fish was tiny. About 3x5 inches and half an inch thick. It was fine but nothing special. The shrimp po boy was nice if a bit too spicy for my taste. The shrimp was ample and perfectly fried. Crispy, not oily, and moist inside. The service was attentive and friendly. We felt warmly welcomed and cared about. A complementary after dinner drink was delicious and a very nice gesture.
Daniel, thank you for coming in! We appreciate all of your feedback and are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience.
Great food and service. Our server was very attentive kept the drinks coming. Thanks for a great experience. Also if your looking for a beautiful area to dine this is the spot.
Thank you for coming in! We are so glad you had a nice experience.
The servers were all welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal and visit to the restaurant. Would definitely eat here again loved the food.
Thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed your experience at Tujague's!
Great night out! The food was amazing and the new location is beautiful. Will definitely be back.
Thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed our new location and look forward to seeing you again soon.
Everything was outstanding!!
Thank you for coming in! We are so glad you enjoyed everything!!
I wanted the old Tujagues experience . This was too trendy and lost a lot of the history . Their was a drag show upstairs . I miss the grit and ambiance of old French quarter . I felt as though they sold out . Was it clean and nice ? Yes but I felt I could get what I got at other places too .
Restaurant Week dinner with 3 courses for $45 is a great value! Glad we took advantage of the experience. Kitchen service was slow, food was tasty.
Thank you for dining at Tujague's! We apologize that things were slow, but we are glad you enjoyed the experience overall.
1) busy night with long delay for food. 3 entrees were lukewarm and one was so cold it was sent back and canceled. 2) management was AWESOME, and comped 2 bottles of wine, so that totally made up for the situation.
Richard, we apologize for the delay and temperature issues with the food. We are glad that we were able to help make up for some of this. We appreciate your patience!
Really disappointing. Started out with a bang with great attentive service but went downhill from there. It was restaurant week and we ordered from the special menu which included appetizer, main course and dessert. Our appetizers (shrimp and grits for me and gumbo for my husband) came out room temperature and took a long time to arrive. Flavor was good for both. An hour later we were still waiting on our entrees. It was clear something was off because during that hour I had watched multiple trays of food being delivered from the kitchen and the servers seemed really confused about what food went to whom and I saw some of it go back to the kitchen. The large party next to us also waited forever and their food was delivered from the kitchen and then sat there for almost five minutes waiting for someone to pass it out to them. They also complained of cold food. Not surprising. When our entrees did arrive, my fish was also room temperature. Husband got lucky and his chicken was hot. Serving sizes were adequate but not large. Taste was adequate but not stellar. Then we waited another hour for dessert to show up. We had the creme brûlée which was tasty, although the crusty top which is supposed to be warm was cold. Three hours later we left somewhat unsatisfied. I will say they at least comped my entree and the server felt so bad about our wait an extra glass of wine was served on the house. I understand they are having difficulty getting adequate staff and it seemed like they had a lot of new people. I hope they were new at least to have been that confused. Overall, I wouldn’t go back any time soon. Would suggest they reduce the number of tables they serve until they get their staffing issues resolved. My last visit (pre-covid) was so good and I had been really looking forward to this evening. Oh well.
We certainly missed the mark on your visit. We are struggling with staffing overall and the night you dined, we had two staff members injured and struggled to recover. I am very sorry that you felt the brunt of our struggles. I would like to invite you back on us to show that this was just a difficult weekend for us and not what we normally do.
