Loved this restaurant! My first time there, but will go back again and again and again! Best staff in NYC & the food was great too!
Best steak and amazing service ..we felt like regulars even though it was our first time...we will be returning for sure.
We enjoy de dinner. We wanted outside and we were alone, so we played some romantic music on our phone. The service was very good! The meat was delicious. I recommend this restaurant.
Went day after Christmas. Empty. Nice, friendly waiters. Decent food but seemed pricey for the portions.
Service was good however food was not so great didn't have much flavor go the ribeye steak it was sought of tough and the lobster bisque had no flavor so food was not the greatest however service was good
We've been to Tudor City Steakhouse a few times and have always enjoyed it. The food is superb, service attentive and the atmosphere elegant. We've dined there on Christmas Eve four times and this year was the best with the addition of music, an excellent piano/ bass duo!!
Christmas Eve dinner. We are really glad that we chose Tudor Steakhouse. The special for the evening was Beef Wellington with Mushroom Risotto which was delicious. There was a small combo that played mainly Holiday tunes at a low level, so there was no trouble having conversations during their delightful sets. A AAAA++++ evening. We will return.
My husband and I were craving steak and saw that Tudor city had pretty good reviews and was also recently listed on one of the Apple guides so we thought we would try it out. It was a Sunday evening and it was very slow when we got there. There was only one other table at the restaurant the entire time we were there. We waited for 15 minutes for someone to greet us and come over and bring us water. I know people often exaggerate wait times but we both had noted the time we sat down because we were meeting friends after our meal.
While we were waiting we actually thought about leaving as there were 2 servers helping the 1 other table in the restaurant and neither of them had acknowledged us. After getting our menu we each picked out a meal. I will say the highlight of the food we received was the warm bread they gave us, it was down hill from there. I ordered a steak filet and when it came it was slightly fatty and had absolutely no flavor. They didn’t season it or cook it in butter it was just plain meat. My large baked potato came with two tiny butters and by the time our waiter came back to check on us it wasn’t worth asking for more. My husband got salmon which was fine and a lobster risotto. The risotto has the full lobster shell and all sitting on top, it was too saucy and not what you expect of a risotto consistency. Additionally there was no way to actually eat the lobster without making a huge mess since the shell was sitting directly on the saucy risotto.
We both felt the meal was bland and absolutely not worth the price. We dine out several times a week usually with our kids and nearly always have tickets as expensive as ours was here however the key difference was our kids were not with us and the food was seriously disappointing. We do not have an issue paying for a nice meal but in this situation I left feeling regret that I spent $250 on a meal that I would never willingly choose to eat again.
Excellent food great service. Eat else can you ask for. Love the live piano and upright bass, perfect for the dinner
The steak was great. Nice cut and it was cooked perfectly with a simple salt and pepper seasoning. The sides were embarrassing. Mac and Cheese was too dry to eat and the Buttered Cheese Corn dish had been over cooked or over heated, and the dairy had curdled. Baked potato was served dry with no butter, sour cream or chives. The chef's sauce was worcestershire and ketchup mixed and tasted like bland cocktail sauce. The wine list was nice, but the mark up on the bottles were higher than most places. If you just go in for a steak, side salad, and a water...you will have a fine experience.
While the restaurant is nice, our service is lack luster, and my food was awful. I ordered the lobster bisque and while there was lobster in the soup, but it taste like they put a can of Cambell's tomato soup. My steak was ordered medium rare but came out medium well. I also ordered the mashed potatoes, but they were instant.
Very nice steakhouse with terrific service and pretty atmosphere. Good food too
Very good food
Acceptable but not memorable. Can be replicated at any decent restaurant.
Nice. Upscale place. Not as pricey as other steak eateries. Casual but not shabby. Food was very good and service was great. It is in a nice quiet mostly residential area about 10 min. walk to subway or about half that to bus stop.
Service was excellent by any measure: fast, accommodating, unobtrusive, friendly. Grilled whole fish, appetizer, dessert all great. Main course came with asparagus which was a bit woody - only complaint.
Pleasant people; able to eat outside --- a relief!
Excellent restaurant. Really enjoyed our evening.
The best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The food was delicious. I couldn’t recommend thIs wonderful restaurant more…it’s perfect!
Great selection of food an wine. Service was prompt but always in the background. The warm atmosphere was exactly what we had been looking for
The people are nice and the environment very pleasant but the food was “meh”, the service spotty at best, and the bill was easily 25% more than a reasonable price.
We were very excited that the restaurant space right in Tudor City, formerly the excellent Convivo, had reopened as a steakhouse. We were even more excited that they had a nice broad menu as we were not in the mood for steak the night of our reservation.
From the minute we entered the service really stood out here. Very warm, very accommodating, genuinely seemed happy to see us and take care of us. The environment is a modern combination of a Tudor castle’s entertainment and dining space and a nice cozy library. Very inviting.
Long and diverse wine list with help to choose from the many unusual options.
Surprisingly varied menu for a Steak House. There is also a large variety of steaks to choose from, which looked first class and were more expensive than other menu categories.
The iceberg wedge was fresh, crisp and plentiful with a very good blue cheese dressing. Vegetable lasagna: delicious, lighter and more delicate than expected. My cousin was delighted with the smoked trout. Macaroni and cheese did not meet the excellent standard of the other items -try a different side.
We were too full for dessert; they do make a nice looking selection for next time. I also noticed as we were leaving they have a welcoming bar with very good-looking, early evening happy hour drink specials.
We highly recommend this fine new and welcome eatery in this quiet neighborhood in the central city.
Thanks for a lovely night!
We were a party of 4 out for a weekend friendship dinner. Dining options are a heated patio or indoors, we chose to dine indoors. Our table was next to a window with an East River view in a room designed to feel like your in a comfortable, spacious library. George took care of us for the evening and his recommendations for wine, as well as entrees were spot on! Our meals were cooked to perfection! For entrees we enjoyed a Porterhouse Steak, Seared Tuna, Clams Linguine and Grilled Salmon! Oysters and salads were our choices for appetizers and delicious Onion Rings were our side!
We had a wonderful time with compliments to the staff and the chef! We appreciate their attention to details, service and care!
The menu is balanced and the quality of the food very good. The main room is lovely, though there is an adjacent room for larger groups separated by glass that can add to the volume level. The service was professional and friendly but indoor dining service was slow, especially with the outdoor tables full and a large group in the adjacent room. Understaffed, it seems, but that may be temporary, Covid-related. Still, this seems to be a place for a leisurely, not a time-limited meal. We did not choose outdoor dining but the park-like location makes it an ideal spot for dining outdoors when the weather allows.
Excellent food in a charming atmosphere. Attentive and unobtrusive service.
Great steak and carrot-ginger soup!
Excellent service & food. The staff there are friendly & sincere. We would go back any time!
Excellent hidden gem in Tudor City. Superb steaks. Clean, attractive interior.
The service and food were both perfect. Beautiful atmosphere with live music. A neighborhood gem tucked away in Tudor City that is worth traveling to.
Staff was amazing and accommodating, food really good. Although not impressed w oysters.
Tudor City is a such a great find as it’s this little oasis on the east side, surrounded by a bustling city and Tudor City Steakhouse just tops it off as the local restaurant that everyone just wants to kick back, have a great quiet meal and great view.
Request Miguel to be your waiter.
We ate outside and there was a major gnat problem. Service was not great, but the food is excellent
The ambience is perfect! The steak for me can be improved. Its ok but can be better
We were a party of 13 on a very quiet summer Friday and the service and food could not have been worse.
There were several calls prior to the dinner to discuss service and expectation, none of which apparently was communicated to the waiters or the kitchen staff.
We had requested Pellegrino and Tap water to flow throughout the meal, and the first thing the waiter informed us when he came to offer water 20 minutes after we were seated was that they were out of Pellegrino water. It continued to go downhill from there.
3 of my guests ordered a glass of wine when the order was taken, and these came to the table after the second course was served, which was another disaster, it took 20 minutes for the entire table to be served each course and then all of the meats were cooked incorrectly. Topping the night off... the deserts, tiramisu... FROZEN on the inside.
I've never in my life had a worse dining experience than this one.
My husband and I collectively worked over 35 years in NYC restaurants, mostly 4 star establishments and we understand the challenges that can present in a night of service, therefore can be very forgiving and accept a lot of flaws when presented in certain circumstances, but this was absolutely inexcusable throughout.
Although a beautiful location, not worth it and an absolute waste of money, for the amount that we paid and the tip given PRIOR to the service, we could have gone to a 4 star restaurant, paid the same amount and saved the aggravation and embarrassment in front of our invited guests.
I ate brunch here with a friend. Delicious and speedy service.
GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!! Service, food & everything was perfect!
The manager itself was there greeting ❤️ everyone working there had a perfect knowledge with the restaurant menu!
They offered us many options as we’re not eating pork & alcoholic cooked stuff.
Thank you! Will come again for sure👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I really like this spot. Great food, friendly, helpful wait staff that is ahead of your requests and it has a whole old-world vibe going.
Understaffed. Slow service. But nice location and great outdoor dining option.
Service was good
Food preparation was fair at best
My lady & I both had Chicken Paillard
It was fair at best
Luis the waiter should be acknowledged for his
Superior service !!
