Tu Madres Cantina & Grill
A fresh and unique spin on traditional Mexican and Baja Style Cuisine.
Local and organic ingredients, a killer bar, and plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
Your new favorite neighborhood Mexican Restaurant!
Mediocre food and cocktails, very cold outdoor setup for dinner after sunset, good service.
Enchiladas dish much too spicy for my wife
One of our favorites! Great selection of food and drinks!
Had a fantastic time. Best margs in town, friendly staff and amazing food. Set up nice outdoor dinning with covid restrictions followed. Can't wait to return !
Really good imaginative Mexican cuisine. Slightly different and really delicious.
Great service ! Our server Rose was super sweet and awesome! Hope we visit Indio soon for we can dine again!
This was the best Mexican food I have had in a very long time. Everything was fresh and flavorful
Knowledgeable staff, great drinks, awesome service.
Great food at really reasonable prices! The carnitas tacos are especially delicious as are the Chiles Gueritos.
I had high expectations as I love their other restaurant - Cork and Fork. The food was very good but not exceptional. The service was very good and sitting on the outside patio with the misters was pleasant.
All in all I would go there again.
Excellent food and service - highly recommend if you are looking for outstanding gourmet Mexican food and drinks.
Service was spectacular. Outdoor seating spaced out nicely. The food was superb. Met the owner Mike great guy who’s focus is on service.
Delicious foods. Period.
Food was not great - didn’t get what we asked for
seated in parking lot but best they can do for covid
The service and food were excellent. Due to the pandemic we had to eat outside in the small patio adjacent to the parking lot. The ambiance wasn't so good and it was very hot, but they were doing their best with misters mounted to the fence surrounding the patio and umbrellas. We look forward to returning when we can eat inside!
Great food and great service!
My daughters high school graduation dinner couldn’t have been at a better place. Service was awesome and the food was amazing
The food is delicious! Not your typical Mexican, but very good. Very hard to carry on a conversation ,however, it is very, very loud.
Very nice spot for lunch. Staff members were pleasant and appropriately attentive. Food variety was interesting and flavourful.
Good selection and quality was very good. Guac was fabulous. Nice mixed drinks too.
A pleasant surprise. Very good food; not typical Tex-Mex. Loved the entrees with two side dishes; the enchiladas with sides of corn and salad was yummy. Good margaritas and draft beer. No real downside other than a small venue that was a little noisy. Will frequent this restaurant during future Palm Springs trips.
I already have recommended it to many friends. And I’ll certainly be back!
Every dish was a standout. Even nachos, that obligatory cantina standard, goes way above and beyond with goat cheese and pickled onions and peppers. Salsas are exquisite. Chipotle French fries crisp perfection. Spare ribs luscious but not cooked to mush as is often the case. Just a superb lunch experience.
The restaurant was very busy it was Friday night,
Food was good . Margaritas were just OK a little sour but food was good appetizers were excellent the shrimp taquitos I would highly recommend. very noisy if you’re going with another couple it’s hard to hear or talk to each other.
I got the two fish tacos with refried beans as my side (you only get to pick one side). The tacos were “Street size” and were pretty small. They were delicious but really should have been three. The refried beans were a bit dry but not to bad. Throw some rice on the plate, it’s cheap. Very noisy interior. I would eat there again but maybe order an extra taco a la-carte.
Amazing food, drinks and staff. The staff was so polite, effective and provided great suggestions! Tu Madres also had a great ambiance. Can’t wait to go back!
Everything was amazing, the drinks, the food and staff
So much prep goes into their beautiful food....but their chips are terrible, and that’s the first taste of your dining experience.
Couldn’t seat our party of six at a table that had enough space so they sat us at two tables with 18 inches between
Too loud to hear our guests
Authentic modern Mexican food -- great drinks, wines and beers -- a new and very popular casual restaurant. Be sure to get a reservation at least on weekend evenings or you may well have a wait.
Nice to be able to make reservation o. Opentable. Had fish tacos which were really flavorful and delicious- would choose again. Nice feel to it and they let us sit and talk for hours without bothering us (lunch). Definitely going again!
I had 6:30 reservations for 4, arrived 5 minutes early. We were immediately seated with 4 menus and 4 empty glasses. We sat for 20 minutes before anyone including our waitress acknowledged us, it should be noted that our waitress passed by our table on numerous occasions. Our drinks and dinner we ordered at the same time. All our drinks arrived and shortly after 3 of the 4 dinners were served another 5 to 7 minutes pass before the 4th dinner arrived
Food was dry. Meat was grizzly. Waitress was surly. One of our fellow diners did not feel well after our meal.
This was our second attempt at dining here. The first time we dined there, the waitress informed us after an hour that there was a reservation for our table in 15 minutes and we would have to leave.
I could fill up on the Small Plates at Tu Madres and their salads. What I love are their Tequila Lime Shrimp tacos. The tacos have chipotle lime aioli, tomato, cotija and lime plus another unique item, tiny bacon bits, which is just one of the items that blends unique flavors to make this anything but an ordinary taco! Their Quesadillas are unlike any I have ever eaten and the El Jefe Quesadilla is my favorite, as well as their Short Rib Barbacoa. Tu Madres has a full bar and unique specialty drinks, as well. If you haven't visited Tu Madres you are missing unique excellent food and a "happening place!"
I’m really hoping the place gets better. The idea is outstanding but the portions fall way short of expectations. Our server was ok but the the hostess had no clue. She sat us at a semi dirty table, then sat another couple right next to us before they asked to sit at on of the three open tables across the room. We walked through the bar section as we were leaving and the bar staff seemed more engaging. We will try it again, but definitely only on the bar side
Dinner - not many Mexican restaurants charge you for chips & salsa $5 - disappointing!!! My husband ordered the Chicken Tostada salad which was mainly iceberg lettuce, substituted black beans for refried beans, minimal cheese and tomatoes. He won’t order that again - terrible. I had the surf & turf burrito - excellent. We both had their house margaritas - very good. Prob won’t go back ...
Pearla was great at accommodating 2 extra guests at the last minute. Nice to have a new place we can walk to. Classic Margaritas are good.
Loud and cafeteria style ambience.
Everything a la carte . Even salsa and chips
Burrito was one of the worst I’ve had .
Better to go a traditional Mexican place .
Quality of food is fine, this is not a typical Mexican Restaurant. The food has unique twists to it, ie goat cheese quesadilla. I ordered the chicken enchilada, Caesar salad, beans. Ok, nothing special. Beans were smooth, creamy, mushy, salad was not a Caesar salad. There is a tradition to Caesar salad, don't mess with what works. Enchiladas, 3 small ones, portion just fine, but average taste. Overall nothing special. I'm glad I went to make my own decision. Don't see the need to go back. The Cheese Cake was awful !! Not real cheese cake, some vegetable based idea, that was an odd color and weird after taste.
