Japanese
TSUJIRI was founded in 1860 by Riemon Tsuji who was renowned for his spirit of "YUWA" meaning "continue to innovate and sustain the tradition". His statue was build in Kyoyo, Japan to honor his contribution to the Japanese tea industry. Mr. Tsuji has refined the cultivation of Gyokuro (the highest grade of Japanese green tea) and his method is still being used to this day.

broth of the soup was good but small portion with little toppings. Desserts delicious but too expensive. Worth trying out but probably won't go again

I believe operationally, it could use more structure. We arrived not knowing where to let someone know we had a reservation and we were unfortunate to be seated the same side as where everyone comes in for the cakes and drinks so it was a bit noisy.
We came wanting the Tonkotsu Soba only to find out as we were ordering that it was sold out so we opted for the Nishin Soba (which was good but not what we were looking forward to) and the Unagi Dashi Chazuke -- which were good. A friend ordered a parfait instead of noodles and asked for it to come out the same time as the rest of the meals and it came out almost as soon as the rest of us were done our noodle dishes.
The Matcha Soufflé Pancake was very tasty and fresh as was the parfait

Everything was great! I am so glad they have savoury options as well as dessert options, and surprisingly, the savour options was as delicious. One thing though is that they have to be more careful of their prep area. I had to take some stars off because we found a small green piece plastic inside their soufle pancake. They I'd explain that it came from their avocado netting and that they may have used the same bowl to prepare the avocado to prepare the soufle.

Despite of this, I believe I would still go back in the future.

I had high expectation on this place as everyone said, it’s so good, you must try and long line up since they opened...but booking 3 months+ prior it is a bit ridiculous...
Anyway, I tried it and I didn’t find its 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 as other guest said... I won’t spend the time to lineup.

Service is very good but food portion a little small and pricey. Spent roughly a little over $70 for 3 bowls of noodle, a parfait and a cheese cake for 2 adults and a 7 year old. Had to go for second meal after this. Sitting space was cramped, sat beside a small sink, lol. Definitely will not be returning to this place.

Excellent staff and services from our dining experience.
It is wonderful to find a dessert place that is consistent, and the savoury dishes were a great hit among friends and the children as well. Only wish if we can tried more variety of the matcha inspired cakes as they are often sold out. With the quality of food, we will come back for more!

I really wish I could rate higher than what I did, but sorry to say, the whole booking and serving system is kind of stupid. For example, I really don't understand why savoury dishes and parfaits can only be served at the very back section of the restaurant, which special reservations must be made thru OpenTable. Then when the time you go for dinner but there is a great chance that some of the parfaits are sold out already. Does it mean I have to make multiple reservations at different times to enjoy a more complete menu? Tsujiri in Toronto also serves soft serve (cone or cup) by itself but Tsujiri in Richmond doesn't, which possibly makes a longer lineup for reservation.

Reservations seem hard to get - and it makes sense as there are only a handful of tables that can be reserved while the rest are for the large line up of customers.

We lucked out and landed a reservation and well worth it. We've been to one of the stores in Tokyo and the Sakura Parfait didn't disappoint. A variety of tastes and textures - ice cream, cereal flakes, mochi, and cake -- all in one amazing dish.

A really great experience with friendly servers & I would definitely go back again! I went on my own as the only reservation left for that day was for 1 person only. It was strange how the reservation was only for 1 person but I sat at a 2 person table so it would have been more enjoyable to go with another person if the reservation allowed it. I miss the time when you could order desserts & soba simply by lining up as it was a nice way to balance out the salty & sweet so I hope they do that again in the future. I would totally eat the soba for lunch too but sadly their soba noodle is only available during a certain time period. Recommendations for Tsujiri to improve would be to expand their store, this way more customers can sit down and have noodles without having to make a reservation & also having a bigger kitchen would ensure items aren't sold out as quickly. Ultimately, I would go eat at Tsujiri more often if their savoury food was available for the whole day and if they had more varieties for dessert & dinner such as specials of the week/month as it is always great to try new flavours which could potentially show up permanently on their menu making me want to come back all the time. Lining up sometimes for a long time makes me frustrated as they only have one person taking orders causing me to not come as often since some of the desserts I wish to try will end up being sold out by the time I reach the front of the line after waiting half an hour. The price range is a bit high which is also a factor why I don't come as often but if the items were cheaper, I feel like I would be more inclined to try more items on their menu which might cost more but feel more worth it. It would also be great if they just sold the ice cream by itself as it is delicious! I went to celebrate my birthday & they gave me a complimentary dessert which absolutely made my day which is why I would recommend this to people I know about the awesome customer service @the soba bar.

Honestly, I’ve tried better Soba. Itms just average taste and the portion compared to elsewhere is pretty bad. They had two tiny slices of pork and the soup was not hot enough for me. It tasted a bit blend.

They have rearranged their reservation seating area. The backspace still needs a bit of thought as it was bit difficult to get in and out. The female supervisor, as always, was very attentive and patient in explaining items on menu and answering our questions. The service never disappoints the few times i have been here. The soba isn't their strong suit but good to try nevertheless.

I made a reso over a month ago only to get there and they ran out of cakes for dessert. They did not tell me ahead of time and only had shaved ice items. They could have notified prior to my reso or ensure they had inventory for the planned resos for the day. I will not return.

It was well worth the wait to finally get a seat at the soba bar. The hype certainly is worth the wait as we thoroughly enjoyed the unique and authentic matcha 'food for the soul.'

Since it was my wife's birthday, the staff at TSUJIRI even arranged for a dessert platter for us.

Outstanding food, outstanding teas, outstanding service!!!

The matcha souffle pancake is worth the wait/reservation if you can get one. Regular cakes were sold out by time we got there in the evening so if you are looking for that, get there earlier in the day.

Came here after dinner time to enjoy desserts with my friends to pre-celebrate birthday for one of our friends. We had questions about the tea and the lead server took the time to explain the different taste profiles and uniqueness of each tea to us. As my fourth visit, I’ve always received fantastic service here!!

Delicious experience on the soba bar side of the restaurant. This well lit but small portion of the restaurant was intimate. Definitely worth the wait for resos. Service was thoughtful and very homey as if your neighbours invited you into their Japanese home.

limited menu and always sold-out. don’t bother coming by if you work late hours.. would be nice if they have a matcha ice cream sundae. limited seating and can only order their soba and pancake if you have reservation.. the place is nice and the servers are accommodating.. but ALWAYS sold out..

We celebrated Valentine’s Day by visiting Tsujiri on their Grand Opening Day. As we have reserved a late booking at 9:15pm, most desserts have been sold out, but we were able to try the matcha n hojicha soft serve floats. Both soft ice-cream were intense in their respective tea flavour, just like those I’ve had in Kyoto, Japan. The lead server was nice enough to let us know that we can try “mix” ice-cream (like a swirl). GREAT service (omotenashi)!!

Service was pretty good for a grand opening; a bit slow but understandable. Staff was friendly and courteous. Food was high quality especially for the price, and is unique so far to the Vancouver food scene. Highly recommend the nishin soba and hot black sesame latte!
