If it's on your menu as a side, you should sell it without an upcharge!!
SIde of salmon.. 15.00 plus 7.00 service charge per the waiter!! WOW.
More reviews to be placed in YELP.
Get the maple hot wings. Best wings around!! And terrific cocktails!
Had a great experience. Food was what we were looking for and our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable about the area.
Went to dinner with the family around 5:30 pm and decided to eat inside due to the heat. Unfortunately, it was so loud inside that my family could not hear each other talk. The odd thing was there was not that many people inside. Definitely not a family place but if you do take family, sit outside. The food and service was good though.
Fantastic ambiance with great food and drink! The menu has a variety of unique offerings that caters to many palates. All freshly made in the small kitchen. The specialty drinks are made with care for personal taste. Our server was knowledgable and offered up many suggestions for our tastes. The mixologist made a drink special to us! Overall, a great place to dine.
Noellia our server was amazing! The food was delicious, too!
Not much to say about this visit, which was less than impressive. Thankfully we stopped at the restaurant next door and were impressed enough to head back after a round of really bad drinks and appetizers. The drinks were small, poor tasting and poorly presented. The same was true for the Apps.
Great place to come and have a good drink with great food!
Loved the food and our server, the couple next to us was in their 40s, they were totally
Interior was borderline tacky and needs more comfortable seating. The clientele was sketchy and there were too many staff loitering about as if we came to a private club for a meal. I would suggest the outdoor lounge and seating and drinks and apps but pass on the dinner.
Enjoyed the restaurant! Sat outside. Food and drinks were great
We arrived about 6:25 and was seated immediately but it was 6:40 before the waitress came over to take our drink order. That was the only real down side to the night for she really took good care of us for the rest of the evening. We started with an order of chicken wings with a spicy maple dipping sauce which we both thought was excellent. For our main course I had the grouper special, my wife had the salmon which was slightly over cooked but still had good flavor. Over all I would say it is worth a try although I don't care for the seating arrangement for you have no privacy when it comes to conversation. I could have invested in stocks that the two businessmen next to us were discussing for I heard every word.
Not inspiring. Typical tourist spot on Beach.
Great service! It was nice to eat out side too. Hostess was super nice and helpful.
Having visited nearly every other place on Beach Drive, we decided to give Tryst a try. From the outside it just looks like a bar, but based on some positive reviews, we wanted to give it a chance. Mistake. At 6:30pm, the seating area outside was crowded with smokers and nearly every bar seat was filled, but we were the only people seated at a table. Still, since the place is not large, the noise from the bar crowd made it hard to hold a normal conversation. In particular, one person who seemed to be working there had set up a computer on a high-top table near us and spent most of the time we were there shouting back and forth to someone behind the bar. Additionally the front door was left open the whole time, and again it's a small room, which resulted in a constant barrage of cigarette smoke being sucked in from outside.
On the positive side, our waitress was quite good and food was above average compared to "bar food", although nothing special for a restaurant.
There's nothing wrong with being a smoky dive bar that happens to offer a little food if that's what your customers want. But that's a far cry from what one expects from a restaurant with a moderately upscale and somewhat pricey menu. Again, our mistake for confusing which category Tryst falls into.
Great service, excellent food
Vegan options! Something for everyone . Beautiful
I found the chicken wraps a little wanting - nothing special
the Mediterranean platter needed at least salt, the tuna tartare- had better
taste and presentation. grilled octopus was good .
Tryst offers a gastro feel to what any proper foodie would qualify as a chic bistro. If you don't expect out of this world dishes then you are in for a casual and friendly time.
Some dishes are truly nice while other are just big misses.
The service is always friendly, if you can get outdoor seating it is very enjoyable.
Overall a great place to be seen and seat while drinking champagne in beautiful St Petersburg FL.
Good food and a fair value. However, way way to much volume on a constantly repeating music. Outside seating would be better
Excellent service, food was delicious and timing between cocktails and dinner was perfect. Would recommend for a special occasion or just a night out! Enjoy!
Noise level was so high and acoustics so poor I could not talk with the person sitting across the table. Service was great! Food on a scale of 1 to 10 I rank a 5 or 6. There are far better places on Beach Drive in St. Petersburg. I would not go back.
The food was good if a bit pricey. However, the noise indoors was almost unbearable. There was no way to carry on a conversation across the table. Also, there is no separation between the dining tables and the bar customers. Really it's just a bar with some tables. They also offer outdoor dining, but there was a DJ playing. Afterward we walked a few blocks along the same street and this was by far the loudest restaurant.
Duck skin was best I ever had. Amazing fois grois appetizer. Drinks were also exceptional. Crispy red snapper was super fresh.
There were three, extremely loud young people at the bar making a deafening noise, except when the young woman was straddling her escort and he was fondling her, all in an entirely inappropriate way. This was going on off and on during our meal. Our waitress was excellent. The bartender appeared to know the young people and seemed to be participating in their party. Really strange and disappointing. We'd been there a few times before.
Had an amazing Valentine's Day dinner at Tryst. The staff was very nice and attentive. The food came out quickly and was very yummy. They have a great wine selection. Can't wait to go back.
We were able to eat outdoors, the staff were wonderful and firendly.
Tried to have a nice Valentines dinner, but the noise level made it hard to have a conversation. Bar and Restaurant in same room and most patrons were there for the bar. We were given a bar table with people surrounding us from the bar. We had to hold on to our bottle of wine because they continued to bump in to our table. Requested a table in the back corner to get away from the crowd, but was given another bar table along the back wall. When the couple who reserved the back table sat down, they looked around and left because of the noise (holding their ears). Our dinners were good and our server Parker apologized for the situation. Did I mention that there was a DJ playing music outside? Went for a walk after dinner and could hear the music a block away. Recomendation: Go for Drinks (huge beer list) and not for a romantic dinner.
Food, drinks and service were great. The only issue I had was that as we were being seated, the hostess informed us that we had an hour and 15 min to eat before the next reservation.
Now I understand the restaurant game, but how about a subtle tap on the shoulder when we were getting close to ask us if we would like to move to the bar.
Good food, great service
Really impressed with the ambiance and service at Tryst. My chicken wings were above average. My friend said the salad was very good. What makes it great is the location and the service. Fun place to sit outside and enjoy the scenery.
Overall a good experience. Enjoyable, quality food and service. Volume was unsuitable for a date experience and I will not likely return for that reason. Not sure of the logic of having a DJ playing booty beats on a Saturday night. Although positioned outside the front door, the door was open and the sound permeated the restaurant, as well as the DJs smoking. Not cool. I guess it did not bother other patrons as the space was mostly full.
There were very few people there, yet it was so noisy we couldn't carry on a normal conversation. The decor was very cold and sterile. Not at all inviting. Even though the food was delicious and the service excellent we would definitely not go back.
We have been to Tryst many times and are never disappointed. The friendly staff, the interesting and tasty food choices, and the beautiful location combined make it a truly lovely and memorable place to go.
hostess was extremely rude and initially unpleasant
server was rude as well
the food was good given how busy the restaurant was on Christmas
We truly enjoyed the food here and were pleasantly surprised by the variety on the menu. So, the older folks in our party enjoyed some traditional items and we got them to try some more unusual items. All in all, we had a great time, enjoyed great food and the service was very friendly. I would go again and recommend Tryst.
Nothing better on Beach Drive. They set the standard and have never looked back.
Lexie is the best server -- vibrant and very knowledgeable!
The Vinnoy Harbor area is full of wonderful restaurants and bars...a lively scene! We ate in the area several times over a week and Tryst was one of our favorites. The Tryst signature cocktail was good. I would recommend it!
This was a lively spot in the heart of the Beach Place area. The food was very good and the service excellent. We used the valet parking service about half a block away. It was free other than the $5.00 which was less than the public garage.
