Contemporary American
Trummer's Restaurant recently underwent a 10 year renovation and relaunch in Historic Clifton. This is where New York City meets Historical Charm. Owners Stefan and Victoria Trummer bring their extensive New York City restaurant experience and passion to small town Clifton to offer a unique dining experience. Our chef, Jon Cropf, helms from Charleston, South Carolina and brings an entire new menu focused around the French Rotisserie. The desserts are not to be overlooked as Meagan Tighe has been perfecting her tempting desserts in top kitchens in New York City and Charleston, South Carolina.

Trummer’s On Main is engulfed in history that dates back to the 1800’s and brings an edge to the historical area. Each floor has something special to offer for the eyes as well as the palate. Come see for yourself why we continue to receive rave reviews from both critics and guests alike!

Excellent food and service. The roasted potatoes are phenomenal — as is everything else! Can’t wait to go back and support this wonderful family-owned small business!!

Here's another reason why Trummer's is a five-star restaurant: Even when there's a problem, the response is amazing. Details: We'd gone in for the Thursday duck special, and apparently so had too many other people, because the ducks already on the rotisserie were all gone. The waiter advised it would be a good while before the next batch would be ready. Fine, no problem, we said, enjoying our conversation. But after an hour, we were beyond hungry and begged the host for something, anything, to eat. He said he'd send out some bread, their delicious cornbread, which we devoured. Then a side order of Brussels sprouts arrived -- also delicious, every last one. Then a side order of Trummer's superb French fries; again we ate them all. We told the waiter we'd better cancel our side order of carrots; "No problem," he said, "we'll put them in a bag to take home, but you won't have to pay for them." Finally the duck and roast potatoes arrived -- wonderful, as always. And that's all we were charged for, plus one of my two glasses of wine. Wow! It seemed, in this time of covid-19, a particularly relevant reinforcement of the restaurant's merit: Every place SAYS they're stepping up their sanitary practices; but with Trummer's you KNOW they will go the extra mile. Thank you, yet again.

Disappointed that early at the Sunday brunch service there were no oysters. On my list to order. Some of the options were ok but others not. Seem to put chicken into everything like the scrambled egg biscuits. We enjoyed the pork cutlet, the pastry selection, and the beef sandwich. But the spaetzle soup and chicken salad sandwich were just not good. The real reason to return is the beautiful garden room, just a gorgeous venue.

Negatives, The kitchen was struggling to keep up with demand, I had to inquire about our appetizer it took so long. It took 10-15 minutes for our waiter to stop by the first time. After that I just flagged him down when I needed him.
Positives: Food was good, prepared well. Presentation was well done. Waiter’s recommendations were very good.

This used to be such a nice restaurant, the quality of food (aside from dishes they carried over) was just not the same. It really is disappointing.

We have been to Trummer's many times. It is our go-to place for a special evening or brunch. The food is always superb, the service is always top drawer, and it is just a great place to relax for night out.

Great wine selection however the pours were less than generous. The prime rib was great however we needed a little additional seasoning and the waitstaff was a little absent after our food arrived. We love the location, ambiance and we generally enjoyed our meal however for the price we felt it should have been just a little "more". Bottom line we will revisit...

What a wonderful place. The ambiance was wonderful. The service exceptional and the food heavenly. Their array of libations from the bar are superb. The Titanic is my wife’s favorite and they now carry Ottakringer Bier a wonderful taste of Vienna Austria. This is my go to place for date night with my wife. One feels so welcome and comfortable there. Stefan is the best host, Nicole knows the best wines to go with your meal and Justin our waiter was fantastic.

French onion was good with interesting flavors. Lamb entree serving size was a bit large and presentation was strange. Scallops were overpowered by the sauce on the risotto and the cabbage strips. Risotto was a bit overcooked. Could have been more al dente. We did not have dessert.

Menu was not American as advertised, i had to use my phone to figure it out. Everything was extra including $5 for bread and there no sides included with the entree. While this is common for prime steakhouses, this not a prime steakhouse. Spend ypur money elsewhere

I've been coming here for years... and I mean yearssss. We have Mother's Day Brunch here every year for almost a decade, it's a must, and even with their new rebranding, this tradition will continue. I got married here in 2018 and it was the best decision, amazing food, people still talk about it.

Trummer's recently underwent a new rebranding from fancy dining to casual bistro complete with interior renovations but with the same amazing owners, inventive chef, and delightful pastry chef. The Mercy of the Chef tasting menu is gone but a menu with a bit more variety and more approachable prices was left in its place with a specialty towards things made with their French rotisserie. I can't rave enough about how much I love dining here and making sure to try something different each time we come. I honestly don't have any favorites because everything they make is always so enticing based on description alone that I don't stick to one menu item.

Valentines Weekend 2020 was our first time back in since the rebranding and everything is just as tasty as it's ever been, just the interior is way brighter and more modern while retaining some shabby chic feels. Beautiful! Perfect lighting and neutral background that will make Trummer's an even more desirable wedding venue. Our favorite dish of the fixed menu was the braised pork belly that melted in your mouth but the skin crunched with a force like bones were breaking, caramelized over the rotisserie to perfection, it was deep and flavorful and juicy. Soooo darn good! Then the Salmon was light and flakey with a lovely crisp citrus due to the grape fruit which paired perfectly with the lentils in a light lemony sauce; the complete opposite of the hearty, stick to your rib cage pork belly. The red velvet cake was our favorite of the desserts, the presentation itself was swoon worthy but then you put it in your mouth and it delicately explodes with individual flavors that meld together in harmony.

Went for Valentine’s Day. One friend was vegetarian and Gluten free - who received 3 large whole carrots roasted as an entree’. Her second course came with gluten containing starch - and basically no communication between server and kitchen. Not $110 meal for Vegetarian! Service has gone down tremendously. I felt embarrassed as I had arranged for our friends to this restaurant.
Not coming to Trummer’s again.

My husband and I ate here on Valentine’s Day and we were underwhelmed. The upstairs room was very casual - we almost felt like we were eating at someone’s house. The wait staff seemed unprepared/new. The waiter even spilled champagne while uncorking the bottle. Lastly the food was cold and the dessert had a sloppy presentation. The experience was definitely not worth $400. We probably won’t be returning anytime soon.
