Celebrated early Thanksgiving with family. Service was impeccable! The truffle pasta finished tableside and the seafood were amazing! Try the baked Alaska.... very delicious and fun!

I went for Sunday brunch. This place had a lot of potential, but their food is a little "try-hard" for me. Their cocktails are interesting, but some of them don't really make sense to me. For the area, it's pretty cool, but I don't think I'd go back.

The service was somewhat slower than normal. Our reservation was at 7:30; we were seated promptly, however, we were not served dinner until about 45 minutes later. I’ll blame it in a special event being held in part or the restaurant that evening. Despite the wait, we’ll be back!

I loved the drinks - they were special, delicious and unique. The food was also very tasty. The dining room was practically empty though when we went on Thursday night around 7 pm which made it less fun.

Always love eating at Trummer's. The Chef is great! The cornbread was delicious. I had the Scallops - yummy. My husband had the Chard (he thought the portion was really small for the price). All in all great birthday dinner. Thanks.

Here for our anniversary tonight. I mentioned this in my notes in Open Table reservation but no one ever said anything to us at Trummer’s. Maybe I’m expecting too much. The restaurant is very nice. Service was tremendous. Food was excellent. They accidentally gave us a strange dessert we did not order, then brought out the correct one. Wine list is impressive. Overall a “good” experience but there are some others around that we have been to before that we prefer. This won’t be a regular spot of ours, but we will come back for a non-special occasion. This is an expensive restaurant.

Cannot say enough about the service. We were running late for an event following dinner and informed our waiter and our dinner was out in less than 15 minutes!
In addition the food was excellent as it always is at Trummers!
Will definitely be back for what can only be another meal and experience that is sure to be second to none!

We won a gift certificate from my children's school fundraiser. It was a little bit of a drive for us, but well worth it! The food was delicious, the cocktails were creative, and the service was top notch. The dining room is elegant and made for a great date night. An excellent special occasion location, whether it's something romantic or a get-together with friends. We didn't hang out at the bar, but it seemed a popular location as we walked through. We definitely plan on visiting again!

Trummer's for Brunch. Vibrant and airy atmosphere. Service was pleasant, hospitable, yet confused and sketchy. Eggs Benedict hollandaise lacked thickness and richness. Bacon was excellent. Salmon omlette cooked just right but for 24 DOLLARS? Come on! Seemed most of the staff were inexperienced, but they were trying and will get better. Pastry basket was excellent. Very good coffee too.

Food was nearly 1 hour in coming and when it did arrive, one was cold and the other meal was incorrect. Sent it back to fix and get a second incorrect dish. Finally ended up leaving without having eaten after being there for an hour. Won't come back.

We did the tasting menu. Food that was supposed to be warm/hot was room temperature. The plate was hot, yet the food was not. Some dishes were bland and some were overly salty. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but with so many other great reviews, we expected it to be great. Unfortunately, it was mediocre at best. It also took a over 3 hours from the first to the last course of a seven course meal. It was the slowest paced tasting menu my friends and I have ever had. Doubtful whether I would go back and try something other than the tasting menu.

Well we won't be returning to Trummer's. Dined here two weeks ago and it was very good. So good we were really looking forward to a return visit, but what a let down! From the 30 minute wait to get a glass of water after we had been seated, and the nearly inedible cuts of steak, to the overall inattentiveness and incompetence of our server, this meal was horrible. Not only horrible, but extremely overpriced. I don't have a problem paying top dollar for an exceptional meal, but this was amateur. The management of Trummer's should be ashamed of the quality of food and service they provided. Consistency and quality are important, and Northern Virginia has plenty of outstanding restaurants. We will not waste another meal at this establishment.

The food is FANTASTIC!!! Creative, beautiful, flavorful.

The service was good but slow.

I would have given them five stars all around had we not been seated near the kitchen door. There was way too much traffic and noise as a result. They also wheeled a cart by our table four times that was loud and rumbled on the floor boards.

This was our first time back to Trummer's main dining room in over four years, and it was just as incredible as we remember it being! The service was outstanding, and we had lovely conversations with the owner, the manager, and our server throughout the evening. The small touches are what set Trummer's apart--the cornbread baked in its own ramekin, the sampling of hot cider with brandy and herbs, the time given for diners to enjoy each course without being rushed. We can't wait to return for another special date night!

Great pre-dinner drink in the bar. Once upstairs, we ordered the 9-course tasting dinner at ~$100 p.p. without wine for our anniversary celebration. Hoped for southern cooking from new Charleston chef. Only one: multi-grain cornbread in a cast iron crock with jam. Yummy! Several items tasteless but well presented. Three incredible items: cheese/ham croquets, rib eye steak and cucumber slush served with buttermilk ice cream. Gratis cider/sage/bourbon drink with some heat and champagne was sublime. The flavor of the steak was fantastic, but why didnt you ask how I like it cooked? It was so raw in places my knife would not work, so ate around the middle. Gorgeous beet salad needed a sweet drizzle of something. Too many potatoes & garbanzos. Most food meant to be hot was not. Shout out for the 5-star service from Service Manager Jonathan Harding and a job well-done by our waiter and waitresses.
