From start to finish Trummer’s not only lived up to the hype, it beat it. The service was friendly, genuine and not overbearing. Every bite was delicious! The noise level was a bit higher than I expected, but we can’t wait to return!
truly a wonderful dining experience! One of the owners, Victoria, was very attentive to the tables, to make sure everything was just right. Nicole, the sommelier, offered some very good wine selections. The food was spectacular, the service immaculate. Definitely a wonderful meal. We can't wait to go back.
Two family birthdays were celebrated yesterday. The ambiance and service were exemplary. Three out of six in our party ordered cioppino and were gravely disappointed. The chef’s version of the traditional Italian seafood dish was bland and lackluster.
What a fantastic restaurant. The wait staff we’re all very friendly, helpful and professional. We will definitely be back.
Came highly recommend. They did not disappoint. Staff and food were outstanding. We’ll be back often.
Meal good but waiter was not attentive. We were there for brunch but often had to ask for coffee refills - forgot an order - generally not available. Not sure why because it wasn’t that crowded.
Wonderful experience. Service excellent. Treated with respect. Gave us some free extras. Loved it. I will be back.
From best to not the best. Staff was absolutely fantastic. Food was well prepared and presented. Wine list is impressive. Ambiance. Prices a little high. (The Austrian meal was super attractive but just a bit too expensive.)
Delicious as always - attention to detail is superb, and the service is first-class.
From the moment we walked in we felt well taken care of. We ordered the signature cocktail, then had flights of wine with dinner. What a great idea! The foie gras and brie appetizers were delicious. The shrimp and grits, and steak and short rib were memorable. Every member of the staff were professional and could answer any and all our questions. This place is a must!!
We made reservations for the Sunday night family style meal. We were very pleased with the choice of the main selection and the other 4 fixed selections. All of the courses were delicious and the service was top notch. Will be returning again soon
The meal my husband and I enjoyed this past Sunday evening was phenomenal, especially considering the reasonable price of the prix-fixe family dining menu they had this particular Sunday. Sunday evening is the only time that I know the menu is more limited but everything we ate was wonderful! I highly recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed!
Omelets were over cooked.
Shrimp and grits were superb.
Celebrating our engagement, perfect place for a great Austrian wine pairing dinner
Service was perfect from the moment we walked in. Very staff member was attentive and kind. Justin, our server was excellent and the food was delicious.
Music a bit odd, menu choices a bit limited, prefer the large dining room to the third floor, but still a marvelous experience
It was really great. We had a 7:30 dinner on a Sunday and had the place to ourselves. Service was very attentive and food was delicious. It was a set menu or family style night. They were great about reminding us of this with a call earlier in the day, which worked well to plan for my fiancé’s seafood allergy. My only minor complaint would be the portions were huge. We are so full it hurts.
First time and probably last time to dine here, unfortunately. We were looking for a nicer place nearby without having to go into the city and Trummer's fell short. On a date night, we were greeted promptly by FOH. We were actually early for our reservation, but we were seated anyways (A+). Server was friendly and knowledgeable enough. We started with 2 cocktails that were quite nice, but Nicole, the sommelier, picked a bottle for us that was superb. She is a valuable resource for the restaurant. Appetizers were ok. I had she-crab soup that was too salty for my taste (and surprisingly spicy?), and the foie gras was....turned into a dessert. It was very bizarre- had a pastry tart crust, topped with almost a sweet granola, jellied cherries, and fennel. Way too much going on. Mains were scallops with risotto (scallops were the best part of the entire meal), and my husband had the steak and short ribs. He said the steak was "fine," but the short ribs were dry. We passed on dessert because nothing caught our eye. After our dishes were removed, we were clearly still drinking our bottle of wine, our waiter came over and dropped off the check- without asking, and with empty tables. We were under the impression we were being rushed. Not going to happen- we're still enjoying our wine. Anyways, after my husband placed his card and signed, the waiter came over and grabbed it. I felt like this was borderline a classless and rookie move- as if he was eager to see his tip and leave for the night. Overall, it wasn't *bad* but it wasn't great, and fell short of our expectations.
My older daughter and I enjoyed dinner to celebrate my birthday. We have been to Trummer's several times and have never been disappointed. It has become "our place" for special events, but now that I am retired, perhaps I can enjoy an ad hoc meal or two. As always, the food was superb, the staff extremely helpful and friendly, and the value was well worth the price. Well done to all!
Love this place. Must visit in Clifton VA! Wonderful service, great cocktails and excellent menu.
Trummers is spot on no matter what the occasion. This particular visit, we decided to splurge and do the tasting menu, which is basically at the chefs mercy. We had no idea from course to course what was coming next, but each course was as good as if not better than the one before. We chose the wine pairings which were perfection.
Our server and sommelier made the experience as memorable as the food. We cannot wait to go back!!
Fun Birthday dinner with friends. Food good, ambience nice, fireplace special but miss the big windowed big room.
We had a good "Girls Catch Up Dinner". I have been to Trummer's many times, first time for my friends. They enjoyed their time at the restaurant. I had the Shrimp and Grits, the Shrimp had an ammonia taste, this is the second time I have had this experience at Trummers. The S'mores were fun!
It was an all around great experience!
The food was wonderful and the service was excellent!
Nothing better in Fairfax area south of D.C.
Start to finish 100%
We have recommended Trummer's to many friends and have brought some to dine with us. Our server Larry was the consummate professional - charming, knowledgable and friendly. As always, the food was superb. My Arctic char was outstanding, as was my husband's shrimp & grits. She crab soup, frog legs, and our desserts of cherries jubilee and an incredible chocolate fantasy were sublime. Truffle fries? The best! It's always a delightful experience! BTW, the signature Titanic cocktail was amazing!
What a lovely time we had! It was a birthday celebration for my husband. We had an early reservation and arrived even earlier to have a prr-dinner drink during happy hour. From the friendly bartender and the attentive and gracious hostess to the amazing waiter,Chris, and the outstanding food, the evening was most memorable. The management spoiled us with complimentary champagne and house made truffles. We plan on going back for the 5 course tasting dinner prepared to order by their excellent chef.
Complimentary cornbread was amazing! Also loved the red velvet dessert, it was a cool new take on it. The titanic drink was delicious!
Amazing food as always! Especially loved the smoked salmon appetizer. Hope to see that on the menu again. Larry, our server, read the table beautifully. He made sure we felt attended to without hovering. It's always a treat to eat at Trummer's. Can't wait to go back again soon!
My wife has already told me that we're coming back for dinner for two. Brunch was amazing.
Service was rushed, cabs were undercooked, food was luke warm at best, lights were burnt out, walls are scratched, chairs are flimsy, flowers were damaged, and when we asked to have our food boxed up we were asked if it could all go in the same box (?!). Trummers is not what it used to be and we will be hard pressed to return. Granted the chocolate textures dessert was great.
Everything made it the best valentines dinner ever! We look forward to our next special occasion.
Had the four course tasting menu. Beef Wellington was amazing. So tender juicy and flavorful.
Food was amazing and the service was amazing. I had heard great things about this restaurant before and I’m glad I finally went. I will most definitely come back
Trummer's always delivers an impeccable experience. We have been there a few times, but this was the first time we went for a specific holiday occasion. We typically don't like going out on actual Valentine's Day as you typically have to fight crowds, and it is more of a chore. We decided to go the day after this year, since it was a Friday. They had a set 4 course menu selection with about 4 options for each course $110 pp, which honestly is not unreasonable. She Crab soup, Scallops uni risotto, Beef Wellington, Red Velvet - wife's choices. Frog legs, Lobster Thermador, Duck, Chocolate - mine. Each dish truly delivered, of special note, wife does not normally eat scallops - she raved these, the Wellington was perfection I was actually a little jealous. Lobster and Duck superb, on the dessert note the chocolate is for a true dark chocolate lover - so you have to be ready for the bitter and sweet. Definitely coming back for the Wellington before it's out of season.
The dining experience was delicious. The portions were perfect. Staff was excellent and attentive. Only problem we encountered was a 1 hour wait, with reservations made several days in advance. If it were not for the beauty of my date and our conversations I would have cancelled.
Disappointed - not up to their usual standards. We went there for a Valentine’s dinner - we were rushed along with our meal. Food was limited to 4 set choices under 4 categories and was low in quality compared to their regular menus. It was clear that they were rushing toward customer count at the expense of quality/service.
We went to their Valentine’s Day dinner. Al the food was amazing! The service was top notch and the ambiance was fantastic.
Valentine menu was not up to par from their regular menu which is much better. Food was cold and choices were limited. Server was not accommodating at all. Not what we expected. Best to go when it is not a special day. Disappointed.
