Trumbull Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
This was my first time at Trumbull Kitchen and I work in Hartford. Took my significant other out for Valentine's Day and it was well worth the reservation. My partner has Celiac and it's always a concern when we go out to dinner as she is very allergic. There were zero issues good wise for her, and our waitress made a note of it (as did I in the reservation) the moment we sat down. I appreciated the accommodation and the meal was great. We both had the Salmon with a bottle of wine. Highly recommend!
We were visiting a friend in Connecticut and Trumbull Kitchen was recommended to go for dinner. My husband and I had no children that night so we took advantage of having a "date night". The food was exceptional and the service was fabulous. I would highly recommend going there for your next "date night".
Service was great, food was good, wine over-priced, gave me a table that was not to par...asked to move to the next one, would not let me...had my reservations for over one month. People that sat in that space did not even talk to each other...on their cell phones. Wine was way over priced...its not NYC!
We went here for Restaurant Week. I made reservations a week in advance. A sour tone was set for our visit when the hostess sat us at a weird table. It was the corner of the long wall bench and my husband was sitting facing another couple eating. Plus, there was a service counter right over his head. Fortunately, there was another table open across the aisle and our waiter let us move, but I feel like making reservations should have put us in a better spot on the floor.
From there, we enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was attentive and friendly without hovering. He laughed with us a couple times and helped add to the casual atmosphere. The food was good although it felt a little heavy handed. I started out liking each course but found the flavors overpowering by the end.
We loved the people watching. Honestly what a happy looking crowd. I think that the music was loud enough the everyone felt they could be boisterous without intruding on others' dining experiences.
Service provided was less than exemplary, and we often felt ignored throughout the meal. Our server was more intent on serving other tables with plentiful alcohol, and she took 20+ minutes to take our dinner order. In addition, while she did ask about our show plans for the evening (scheduled for 8pm), we were in the restaurant for almost 2 hours because of the slow service.
A regular go-to for us, consistently good. Their appetizers are my personal favorite and I've been known to make a meal just off that part of the menu. This last visit was during the Taste of Hartford week and there really is no better value in town than TK's prix fix TOH menu.
Great server and sorry can’t remember her name. Looked like a dancer or gymnast.
She was appropriately attentive and also gave us space to talk. Need to write flour tacos on the appetizer for gluten free guests. I should have asked but assumed they would be corn. My bad
My bestfriene and I visited this restaurant for Hartford’s restaurant week and were able to try foods that were not very common/out of our comfort zone. Despite not personally being a fan of seafood fan, I had clam chowder, monkfish, and blood orange pie. The monkfish was rather bland, but the other two items were very tasty and I wish my meal was comprised of only those two items. The photo I am attaching is of the blood orange pie. Our host was friendly and helpful and invited us to take part in the wine special. We had a great time.
My friend and I went to TK before a show at the XL Center. We made a reservation on Open Table and were seated right away. Our server even asked before taking our orders if we had any time constraints due to her obvious knowledge that many would go to TK before a show. We had plenty of time with a 5pm reservation to make our 7pm show across the road. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. We had delicious drinks, appetizers (the cheese plate was amazing!) and meals and shared the chocolate fondue dessert which was perfect!
My girlfriend and I don’t have much time to spend together and you’re Restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. It was nice that we were actually able to enjoy our night out but also be able to hear one another. The food was absolutely delicious although I feel the portions could’ve been A bit bigger per the price. Overall, we had a great time and will certainly be back soon
