Trumbull Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately, the server was pleasant but not efficient. It took her a long time to get some of the things we ordered. I ordered a steak (medium) with polenta. My wife ordered and angus burger. What I got was indeed a steak but it was well done and the polenta seemed to have been microwaved at best. It was dry and tasteless. My wife’s burger was not very good either. Needless to say, for what we paid, it was not worth our time.
Amazing menu, great service, and delicious foods. My partner and I enjoyed sharing an appetizer, salad, and main course. All were fantastic. The restaurant knew we were sharing and they divided the courses and plated them separately without a request or extra charge. The wait staff was impeccable. The evening was enchanting.
We had a great window table. The. Lighted was nice. It was a great atmosphere for dining with a spouse or significant other. My wife had the Haddock and I had the braised short ribs. The preparation and flavors were excellent! The service was spot on. Would definitely recommend and come back r!
I would recommend Trumbull Kitchen to anyone who enjoys high quality food that is excellently prepared. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and the fish tacos were a great starter. The service is top notch and the space is very inviting. I’ll go back again and again.
Food was very good - the Thai cauliflower was the stuff dreams are made of. But, what will bring me back is the customer service. Our burger was a bit under done and both the waitress and manager immediately offered us different options. Made the experience a positive one - happy to patronize such a customer focused business!
Was referred to Trumbull Kitchen from a local who sat next to me on the plane ride to Hartford. Absolutely lived up to the billing. Food was great and included a wide variety of options (the spice tuna roll was amazing!) that could be shared or individualized. Service was even better. Made some good recommendations and ensured we enjoyed our dining experience. Would recommend for lunch and dinner any day of the week!
TK is a favorite of our office staff as it is close to our workplace. Tonight was moderately to lighter than normal crowd. We had a business dinner and they seated us at a table closest to the door and hostess station.
I️ was parking the car so arrived after our guests were seated. The restaurant was fairly empty in the back and in other locations. I️ would think logically those tables should be the last seated if no other are available. I️ was disappointed for our guests with the cold air coming in the door and the noise and traffic by the table. Give consideration to guests that are out for an enjoyable evening and don’t expect to be seated like an inexpensive chain restaurant. Frustrating!
Came here prior to a UConn game. Was seated quickly food came fast but food was just OK. It was only a burger but it had an overwhelming smoky grill taste and could not taste anything else. There was cheese and veggies on it, but couldn't taste them. My dining companion said the same thing. Not sure I'll be back - a bit pricy for a burger that we didn't enjoy.
I've been going to "Trumble Kitchen" for quite some time now and every visit has been special. The ambiance, food, and service has always been outstanding. It's great as a starter or closer for any evening. I enjoy it so much in fact, that I am a MAX VANTAGE card member. And seeing that they have so many other venues that "tickle my fancy", there's never any shortage of great places to dine out. Whenever someone ask me for any recommendations for a nice spot in the Hartford area to tantalize my pallet and satisfy my insides, Trumble Kitchen always comes first in mind.
A friend and I had dinner at Trunbull Kitchen before seeing a show at Hartford Stage on a Thursday evening. We each had the pea soup and pork loin entree. Both were excellent. The service was quick and attentive. We were not rushed at all and made it to the theatre with time to spare. It was an excellent dining experience.
As frequent visitors to Hartford's downtown tomb (weekend nights...), we were nervous to veer from our neighborhood favorite, Max's Downtown. Trumbull Kitchen came highly recommended, so we ventured in, only to find...a Max's-like ambiance with a more seafood-oriented menu! We felt healthy and satisfied with our Hartford fix. A gem well worth exploring, just as downtown Hartford is a gem well worth saving!
Usually this restaurant is awesome. But on this night, they had large parties with children who were noisy and unruly. There was nowhere to sit us that was not adjacent to noisy children. Food was great, but staff was off (didn't get bread until entrees came out) and could not enjoy eating with all the distractions. Definitely an off night.
We went before a big concert at the xl center. Our reservations were for 6:15 and they turned people away but kept a table open for us. They were incredibly busy but got us in and out quickly so we could make the concert. The sangria was delicious, not too sweet and the burger was the best I've had in years. Service was friendly and efficient, we could not have been happier. Will be going again before any event in downtown Hartford.
Late to the game, but so glad we came. Hobbit Juice on tap. Shrimp and sweet potato fritters were insanely good. Stone pie with butternut squash, chick peas--so glad I didn't get pepperoni. Brother inhaled the pork shank. Great staff, environment, food and diverse selections. Will definitely be back for the Gluten-free options for my daughter.
Awesome night out !! Food was great and the value was even better ! We sat at bar waiting for our reservation and the bartender was so sweet , patient , and accommodating !! Then our waitress was hilarious !! Food was delicious and everything came out quickly and correctly !! It was the perfect balance of being efficient without feeling rushed !! Highly recommend it !!
Arrived 2 hrs before an 8 pm show and notified the waiter. Two of 4 meals were over cooked; 25 minutes prior to show time table had not been cleared for desert. Meals were appropriately comped by management but waitstaff clearly is overloaded. We’ve eaten here many times in the past and always were pleased.
Found Trumbull via TripAdvisor and based on the rating and reviews and preview of the menu opted to try. Overall this was a very good choice. Noise level is very loud, if you want a quiet intimate dinner this is not the place as you have to lean in and raise your voice to be heard over the din. Service was slower than expected given the ratings both from our server and from the kitchen. Bar drinks particularly slow and were not the least bit distinct for being a classic cocktail that every bartender should have down pat. Thankfully we were not in a hurry so could afford to sit and wait.
Food was for the most part excellent, get the duck as your starter, it is that good. Opt for the bread service with cream cheese spread as it is outstanding. Meal was very good but had some room for improvement as there was a bit of a fall off of flavors. Was it worth the trip? Yes and would eat here again and recommend it as a place downtown for dinner.
