Best burgers just messy
Appetizer was delicious, components of entrees were good. Biscuit on pot pie left little to be desired. Dessert was excellent, service was great.
We were a little worried when the $12 oyster appetizer came out with only 3 oysters that we were at one of those places that charges a lot for little food but luckily when the main courses came out (pork shank and beef rib pot pie) they were plenty of food and delicious! Could have easily saved leftovers and eaten dessert but since we were just visiting and only in town for a few days we opted to eat our full meals. Would definitely come back if we visit again but still a pricey night out.
All was good except the 2 options for some menu items are not clearly described. For example, pad thai was offered at something like 14/27. We assumed a $27 serving of pad thai had to be for a group. $27?! We were wrong. That was the dinner option and it was literally, a bowl of pad thai that you could pick up at any Thai restaurant for $15 or less.
Other than that our food, drinks and service were satisfactory.
My all time downtime Hartford favorite restaurant. Every time I dine there I feel that way!!
It’s a consistently good experience at Trumbull Kitchen!
Great food, great price but our waitress (Briana) was fantastic. She gave us great recommendations and was extremely pleasant during our entire evening there
Never disappointed at TK. Nice atmosphere, food always spot on, good bar to hang out for happy hour as well.
Trumbull Kitchen is living on its reputation. The food was just okay. We had the shrimp lettuce wraps, tasty but too much oil. Fondue with steak fries, not great. The Crackling Pork entree was dry. The waitress was efficient, but was mailing it in and there weren't many people in her section. On the positive side the host was warm and friendly and parking was easy. Also, do not plan on walking around after dinner, the place is deserted after 6pm.
An outstanding experience with unique offerings and great service. Had the special pork belly tacos with jicama slaw for appetizer and it was exceptional! For our entrees we had the braised short ribs and salmon and both were beautifully presented with amazing flavors. We ended our meal with a carrot cake waffle with cream cheese icing, ice cream, and toasted coconut. YUMMM!!
Our server Mary informed us that Thursday is half price wine bottle night which was a special surprise. She was so attentive, even signed us up for the Max reward card. The highlight of my meal was the carrot cake waffle with ice cream. This was hands-down the most delicious dessert ever!!
As usual, I was not disappointed with the food or service. I love Trumbull Kitchen!
Our meals were outstanding, skirt steak and the salmon. We had to put our forks down to slow our eating. The food was so good, we couldn't eat it fast enough. Our server was wonderful. She took care of our special order of no-carbs with ease.
Expansive menu has options for almost every dining desire. Great service and excellent presentation. My chopped greek salad with grilled salmon was delicious.
We met before a meeting at work
Wait staff super attentive in a good way
Asked good questions
Good came fast and was very good
This is part of the max chain and the quality and quantity is always good ;)
I had the shrimp app and was very good
Had the bbq pork sandwich. Was soft and hooked well and very light in bbq sauce
Came with sweet potato fries
Had the crem brûlée Was very rich and cooked well
I have been eating here for over 10 years and the food never disappoints. Great appetizers and always a great selection of beer and cocktails. Definitely one of the best of the Max Group restaurant.
Reunion with friends
Reservation system worked like a charm. Everything was ready when we got there, food was great, service was great. Have always had a good experience at Trumbull kitchen.
Fantastic apps! Great atmosphere! Superior service. Will definitely return !
Great experience for a first date and my request for a table in an area for good conversation was done without issue. I appreciate the attention to details, very much appreciated!
Food okay, somewhat disappointing
Excellent food. A bit noisy.
Everything worked it fine for an early dinner before a Uconn bball game.
This was my first time at Trumbull Kitchen and I work in Hartford. Took my significant other out for Valentine's Day and it was well worth the reservation. My partner has Celiac and it's always a concern when we go out to dinner as she is very allergic. There were zero issues good wise for her, and our waitress made a note of it (as did I in the reservation) the moment we sat down. I appreciated the accommodation and the meal was great. We both had the Salmon with a bottle of wine. Highly recommend!
We were visiting a friend in Connecticut and Trumbull Kitchen was recommended to go for dinner. My husband and I had no children that night so we took advantage of having a "date night". The food was exceptional and the service was fabulous. I would highly recommend going there for your next "date night".
Service was great, food was good, wine over-priced, gave me a table that was not to par...asked to move to the next one, would not let me...had my reservations for over one month. People that sat in that space did not even talk to each other...on their cell phones. Wine was way over priced...its not NYC!
Whenever I've dined at TK, the food and service have been excellent. One of my favs is their delicious burger. On my most recent visit, my friends and I shared the carrot cake waffle ... it was one of the best desert I've had!
We went here for Restaurant Week. I made reservations a week in advance. A sour tone was set for our visit when the hostess sat us at a weird table. It was the corner of the long wall bench and my husband was sitting facing another couple eating. Plus, there was a service counter right over his head. Fortunately, there was another table open across the aisle and our waiter let us move, but I feel like making reservations should have put us in a better spot on the floor.
From there, we enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was attentive and friendly without hovering. He laughed with us a couple times and helped add to the casual atmosphere. The food was good although it felt a little heavy handed. I started out liking each course but found the flavors overpowering by the end.
We loved the people watching. Honestly what a happy looking crowd. I think that the music was loud enough the everyone felt they could be boisterous without intruding on others' dining experiences.
We had not been there for many years so we decided to take advantage of the Taste of Hartford pay a visit. We will not wait as long again to go back. Everything was excellent as i indicated above.
Service provided was less than exemplary, and we often felt ignored throughout the meal. Our server was more intent on serving other tables with plentiful alcohol, and she took 20+ minutes to take our dinner order. In addition, while she did ask about our show plans for the evening (scheduled for 8pm), we were in the restaurant for almost 2 hours because of the slow service.
A regular go-to for us, consistently good. Their appetizers are my personal favorite and I've been known to make a meal just off that part of the menu. This last visit was during the Taste of Hartford week and there really is no better value in town than TK's prix fix TOH menu.
Great server and sorry can’t remember her name. Looked like a dancer or gymnast.
She was appropriately attentive and also gave us space to talk. Need to write flour tacos on the appetizer for gluten free guests. I should have asked but assumed they would be corn. My bad
Food and service was excellent, as always. We love dining here, and are never disappointed!! Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates quality food and great service.
Went on a whim to try a new restaurant and definitely found a new place to go before shows at the Bushnell! Atmospheric and intimate, the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Will be returning soon!
Atmosphere was great and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and served hot and fresh. A great place for a casual lunch or business lunch.
Everything was really good. I just don’t like when I get home and my shirt smells like burnt food. Thus, the four star review.
My bestfriene and I visited this restaurant for Hartford’s restaurant week and were able to try foods that were not very common/out of our comfort zone. Despite not personally being a fan of seafood fan, I had clam chowder, monkfish, and blood orange pie. The monkfish was rather bland, but the other two items were very tasty and I wish my meal was comprised of only those two items. The photo I am attaching is of the blood orange pie. Our host was friendly and helpful and invited us to take part in the wine special. We had a great time.
Beware of the carrot cake waffle!! It is lethal....and amazing!! Thank God I don't live here. I would be 500 lbs...eating it every day!
Some of the best food that I've had in a long time! A little pricey and the service slow, but take your patience and have a cocktail, nice place.
The food and place was great. My co-workers and i had a really good time
