Food was very good
Very unique dishes. The specials and regular menu items...tasty!
We had a lovely corner booth and a fantastic waiter. It had been a few years since we visited and the menu had changed but the food was still excellent. Great choices for either entrees or smaller plates. Salad was delightful. We weren't rushed to finish salad before entrees arrived. Great wine selection. Wish we had enough time for dessert!
Great restaurant as always.
Consistently good. Too may two person tables jammed in to left section. Lacks privacy...
We recently had a pleasant dining experience before a show at Theaterworks. My husband and I shared smoked beet salad, brussel sprouts, and artichoke pizza. The salad was interesting and delicious. The pizza was also very good...great crust and tasty toppings. The roasted brussel sprouts were unfortunately underdone. We enjoy them crispy, but these were hard. Our waiter was truly excellent--attentive, helpful, and respectful of our need to get to the theater.
Food was good and waitress was nice... However the pad Thai came out and the noodles were not cooked... Sent it back... So had to eat my food while my wife waited... We didn't complain however they didn't even give us a free round of drinks or anything... That's pretty bad especially since we didn't complain... They had an opportunity to make it right and didn't. Won't go back even though the food was great. What a shame.
Two person tables are right on top of one another.
Our servers were attentive, informative and polite. Our drinks and food were delivered promptly and with a smile.
Terrific food, service and atmosphere! Would definitely go again and recommend.
Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the food was not great. We’ve been there several times but not recently and it seemed the quality of food went downhill. We mentioned the dislike of two entrees and while our waiter was very nice, nothing was done about the poor food. So we paid for two uneaten dishes.
I struggle to find safe places to eat gluten free, although it's getting better. My husband and I had an early dinner on a Friday night before a show. I requested a quiet table on the resie and we got exactly what we were looking for. They were generous enough to give me my own bountiful basket of GF pappadum and my own cheese spread and it felt great to know there'd be no cross contamination. Places that take that kind of care are beautifully aware of dietary restrictions and this kind of service makes me feel cared for and welcome. I had a very nice Chinatown cocktail that they switched up the vodka to Tito's to be safe - it was delicious! The poached pear salad was very very tasty. My husband got the Halibut special and raved over it. I got the GF Stone Pie, and it was lacking sadly, although I wasn't super hungry at that point. There are much better GF pizza crusts out there - this one was just soggy. The Creme Brulee was spot on though. The GF menu was decent but limited. I wish they had dishes from their main menu that they could prepare GF upon request - there were many dishes that could be converted, Overall we had a really lovely dinner, and we will be back as it's close to the theater we love to attend. I'll skip the Stone Pie though in the future.
Food and Service were great - just disappointed they could not add another person - 2 tables next to us went unused all evening
Great food but fewer vegan choices than prior menus which means I'll visit less often.
Thanks Very nice dinner
We had a great pre-theater meal and surprisingly got a half priced bottle of wine.
This used to be a reliable spot. The portions and presentation were always good. Most importantly the quality was unquestionable. Our party ordered wings, calamari, soup, lettuce wraps, and burgers.
1. Soup was filled with chunks of potatoes which seemed to be there only for volume effect to serve as little of the cauliflower soup as possible. The soup was tasty but after I removed the potatoes from the soup I had approx 10% of the capacity of the cup to drink from. Is akin to filling up soda cup with mostly ice to extend the syrup
2. Calamari is mostly jicama slaw with some type of sweet glaze ... almost inedible
3. Chicken for the lettuce wrap had an offensive foul smell. My wife didnt eat it after 3 bites
4. Wings... these used to be one of my favorite dishes. They were once a perfect combo of smoked well portioned wings but yesterday they looked like something the pizza chain serves as an afterthought menu item. They looked so unappetizing I didnt even taste one. More importantly after one bite my 17 year old who will eat anything declared them disgusting
4.burgers were ok and buns were fresh. However the fries were salty salty salty, not fresh and not edible.
As note this place on a Friday night would generally be packed but we made reservation at 7:30 PM with no problem.
We spent 100 dollars on our meal. I tipped the server out of pity as it wasnt his fault. Because we were still hungry we ordered a pizza after we left.
Service was excellent. The servers were very attentive. The food was not. Unfortunately we all chose the same dish, seafood pad Thai. The noodles were mushy, the snow peas were so old that they were impossible to chew without removing the strings and the seafood was sparse and not very good. I was disappointed because I had recommended this restaurant knowing that in general the Max group has fine food and service.
Please remove this dish from the menu if you don’t know how to prepare it. I understand that other dishes are good but we made the wrong choice.
Service was good, was there over lunch so it was timely. and food was delicious.
Delicious appetizers. Had several as my meal. Carrot cake waffle was amazing!
A well-rounded selection of menu items, including a "test kitchen" section of plates using seasonal ingredients. In addition to main courses, a nice amount of small plates, appetizers and small pizzas. A lot of fun go as a group, order a bunch of items and share.
We celebrated my birthday and were treated very kindly throughout the entire dinner, from our server, Roger. the manager, David ,and also Nyquoya (sp) another server who was attentive to us. Our entrees of short ribs and sirloin steak were prepared well and were very tasty. As it was my birthday and the staff knew about we were treated to some very decadent desserts! They served a delicious fruit crisp, a banana split and their creative s'mores . It is lovely to enjoy good food and to be treated so well.
Our waitress was dismissive, unenthusiastic and generally uninterested in us. Food was fair. We will not return.
Dinner out with my wife. Love the Max restaurants. Our waitress was excellent as was the food. Highly recommend this gem in Hartford.
Staff helped me to get a celebratory Birthday dinner, very generous ; and the seafood (shrimp, salmon, halibut ) were all fresh and tasty. Our favorite place to go in Hartford !
Nice menu with some interesting twists. Good for conversation. Nice vibe.
Service was the fastest I've ever experienced. From the time of placing our order with the waiter to the food arriving at the table it was less than 10 minutes. Food was the best of any restaurant on our 10 day vacation trip to the area.
You can always count on TC for a great meal. They will make any accommodations for you. They have a gluten free menu! The bar area is active and loud...perfect for 30 somethings. The back tables are quiet, perfect for a date or business meeting. The food is outstanding. Need I say more?
Service was slow so for lunch meeting was not ideal.
Great place for our girls night dinner before a concert. We shared a bunch of appetizers and the food was all spectacular. The restaurant was packed because of the show but service was still fairly quick considering. Would definitely come again!
Menu limited. Service was slow. Food was forgetable. Drinks were small. They ran out of a beer I wanted.
My birthday started great by going to Trumbull Kitchen for lunch! Amazing as always.
There were several mix ups on our order, but the manager and server were very professional and nice. I would go back.
High priced food that really isn’t that great. First and last time I go there. Don’t waste your time.
Everything was perfect. Knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. Excellent service. I particularly like the hanger steak. Others in our group got the salmon and the stone pie. Everyone enjoyed her meal.
The appetizers were good! We had dumplings, spinach/Artichoke dip and chicken lettuce wraps. The Scottish salmon was bland as well as the mashed potatoes. The potatoes need to be creamy and decadent. No amount of salt gave the potatoes flavor. The carrot cake waffle with homemade ice cream was very good! Our server, Mia, was excellent!
We took customers out for dinner and all 6 of us had amazing meals. The sauces were amazing. Great atmosphere!
Great experience from making reservations to eating meal. Waitress was friendly and attentive.
Salute’s taste of Hartford food quality was so much better than Trumbull ‘s and price is one third lower. Why can’t Trumbull offers better food ？
