TruFire Kitchen & Bar - Southlake Ratings and Reviews
This was our second visit to TruFire Kitchen. The first time was during Sunday brunch and we were in a small room. This time we were there in the evening in the main room and it was very hard to talk over the music. At one point, it seemed like they turned it up even louder. The food was outstanding again and the service couldn't have been better. If you are trying to have a conversation, I wouldn't recommend the main room at night. My daughter ordered the vegetarian pizza and they made it with steak, which she took off. The Mediterranean Salad was excellent.
It was our second time at TruFire and we look forward to returning! The menu has fabulous options and each of us loved what we ordered. We had the Lil’ Goat appetizer, then the entrees ordered were: Smoked Meatball Pasta; Texas Pecan & Fig salad; the Devil Pizza, and Spicy Garlic Noodles. All delicious! The service is great on all levels!
My wife and I got a rare night out with our little ones in the care of Mom-in-law. We chose TruFire because my wife is a vegetarian and she noted on the website that they had a separate menu. We started with a nice experience at the bar with good drinks and a goat cheese ap. Then sat for dinner and had two flavor-less entree's, in spite of the amount of garlic. The pasta must have been pre-cooked, then reheated as the temperature was inconsistent... the meal also came out far too quickly to have been made from scratch. Very disappointing.
The service was excellent very attentive and very helpful in making recommendations for drinks and food. One of the best waiters I have ever had. Appetizers we're really good but my meal was not that great. I won't order it again but will go back to this restaurant to try something else next time.
I invited 2 girlfriends who had never been to this restaurant to join me for lunch. They loved it! We sat outside enjoyed our bloody Mary's we made ourselves from the bar and the cheeseboard. The chicken Marsala was very good, maybe a little too much mushrooms for me but very good nonetheless. The mimosas were a prefect compliment to the cheese platter. We will definitely be back!
I went for a Sunday lunch. Not too crowded. Live music, and nice modern decor. The pianist/singer was so good that I originally thought it was recorded music. I was there with 2 toddlers and 1 infant, and didn't feel like the place was too nice for small children. As long as your children are reasonably well behaved this place is suitable for kids. I had the shrimp salad, which was excellent. Shrimp cooked perfectly and had all dark green leaves instead of the cheap iceberg lettuce. My friend had the chicken marsala, which looked really good, but I didn't try it. They have both a lunch and brunch menu which runs until mid afternoon. Menu has a lot of options, and the full bar was great. A little on the pricey side, but the ambiance, and quality of food makeup for it.
I used to write glowing reviews about this venue, but a visit yesterday revealed they have decided to use cheaper ingredients, (flour on the pizza crust) and products (salmon no longer sockeye). The salmon was so bad, it had an odor, and I returned it. To their credit, they took it off the check.
They also were out of a number of bar liquors, which they normally stock. Can no longer recommend.
We were there to celebrate a friends birthday. I brought in a small cake that our server offered to put in the cooler to give us more room while we ate. Then when it was time she brought it out with lit candles, took our pics, then cut and served it for us! Not many restaurants would be this generous with a outside food item. We'll definitely be back for the next b-day celebration.
The service and food were great, especially the gluten free menu! The restaurant was a bit dark for daytime where we were sitting and the restroom was also very dark and could use a little brighter lighting. It was a great experience overall and we would go back again!
Not our first time at Tru-Fire and definitely not our last. The place was as busy as we have seen it and the staff was still very attentive. The drinks were very good, the Moscow Mule is perhaps the best one in the area. For the entree we both had salads which were fresh, delectable and very satisfying. The lemon desert that we had was outstanding as well. Overall it is one of our favorite restaurants in the area.
We were somewhat surprised at how our most recent visit differed from our visit a few years ago. We remembered this location as somewhat upscale, craft cocktails, not so loud. Our visit wasn't bad, just not at all what we expected. Appetizers were odd--I get the deconstructed fad, but it honestly isn't fit for every dish--in this case flatbread would be more enjoyable put together. Even more so when you order what you believe will be 3 separate flatbreads.
