Absolutely delicious! Very large portions - the leftovers fed us 2 more dinners and a lunch. I'll say it again - really delicious. Nice, quiet sort of grown up and even romantic ambience.
The food and beverages were great. Our only real problem was that our server was over attentive and seemed like she was speeding us along.
Wonderful place to have a great dining experience . Love it and will be back
I was pleasantly surprised!! I must admit that the strip mall put me off.
However, once inside the inter design was very nicely done! Jazz playing softly in the background, white, red and black color scheme, gave an ambience of a speakeasy ....
The wait staff! Best I’ve ever had. Seriously. She didn’t hover, noticed when my drink was dry, and when I had a question, she magically appeared.
The food! Oooh my!
For my appetizer, I had the Roasted portobello mushrooms and the Duck Pâté! (I was very hungry)
For my entree, I had the petite steak, with broccoli and cognac butter. Indiana can sure grow steak!! It was incredible.
My drink was The Vesper! Created with perfection!!!
My only negative is I live in Michigan and it’s a little far for a destination dinner. I will have happy memories of this meal!
As a world traveler, I seek out places like this, and it was a 10!
A bit over priced with a pre selected menu, over priced drinks only half full, it was a decent experience, but because of the price probably won’t return.
This was my first visit to Truffles President's Day weekend, but very disappointing. My wife and I had soup, Caesar Salad, "BBQ" shrimp appetizer, Cauliflower Steak, Broiled Grouper, Caramel Sea Salt Cake, and Key Lime Pie. The BBQ shrimp were poorly seasoned - looked and tasted like shrimp cocktail in butter. Grouper (one of my favorite fish dishes) was absolutely awful, almost no seasoning and undercooked, although the mashed parsnip were rather good. The waitstaff offered to redo the dish. But when the server returned, she brought the same, partially eaten fish. Apparently, the cook decided to recook the same fish and return it to me, despite being in the midst of a pandemic. I was floored.
To be fair, I will say the Cauliflower Steak was good, and the Key Lime Pie very good. Presentation of the food was also good. And the Caesar Salad was fine- nothing special. But, the rest of meal was bad. Perhaps I came on a bad night, yet I can't imagine I would return.
One of my favorites in Bloomington, Great Food, Great Service, Great ambiance!!
Had a lovely evening at Truffles. Honestly, I think this may be Bloomington’s most under-appreciated restaurant. I had no clue that gourmet food could even be found in Bloomington. And I drive by it daily.
One of the more adult dining choices here in Bloomington, good food for an appropriate price. Service was exceptional (almost too attentive)
Great stop for a pre-NYE dinner! Great service and wonderful meal (with cocktails & wine). Table seating was distanced and staff attentive.
The wines were great and reasonable. Service was great and knowledgeable. Value was good, ambience was mediocre, but for me the food, wines and service made up for it.
This was our first time in Bloomington for over a decade and we wanted very nice, memorable dining experience and that is what we found at Truffles.
Timing of our starters and entrees was good. Goat cheese was phenomenal for a starter. For the mains, The filet was cooked perfectly and tender. Duck breast had wonderful flavor and lightly crusted. Wine was priced well for a fine dining establishment and very nice selection. Service was top notch; the right balance of attention and being left to enjoy our dinner at the same time.
Look forward to returning in the future.
Consistently great and interesting menu! Love that they have the tried and true items but new daily menu choices too. One of our favorite places in Bloomington.
Found this gem on our way home from Spring Mill perk hike so wanted a nice meal in a quiet setting even though in a college town
It was perfect; impeccable service, great food; a little pricey but left you feeling ‘worth it’.
Great find in Bloomington. Amazing food and wine selection. Will be returning.
Great night! Good food, drinks and service as usual.
Amazing food and date night atmosphere! Will definitely be back!
We were pleasantly surprised when we went in. Staff was friendly. Food was good and had great presentation.
Birthday for mommy with her college age daughters and niece a student as well. great flavors and service , great wine . server was excellent! Loved talking to Mark about wine!
Look forward to returning for more vegetarian options , wanted beet salad not available, change website to match offerings in house ! thanks for a special evening for my birthday!
Don’t judge this place based on being in a strip mall. Excellent ambience inside and great food, wines and cocktails!! We enjoyed it thoroughly.
Great. Really great. Really liked it.
We always enjoy our dinner at Truffles in Hilton Head. It has become a tradition for our first night in HH>
Strange location. In strip mall. Part of a bar. Tables set up in aisle way. Lot of traffic going by. Food was good as was service.
We have eaten here before and with good outcome. Bad night this time... my lamb dish seemed to have recaptured every kitchen leftover for a week. It tasted horrible and I ate little. Appetizers were good. Good reports from Colleagues on salmon bar portion entrees. Service was poor. Don't know what happened but are going to wait a while before we return.
Great food with different flavors from the ordinary. Quiet enough to talk. Excellent service. Not rushed and not waiting around for the next course.
Valentines—-prie fixe menu. The service was UNBELIEVABLY horrible. This was a 4 course pre-set meal. We ordered everything right away like we were asked. It took 1/2 hour to get our first course which was a little salad and a simple soup for my husband. Then AN HOUR to get our second course!!! We asked multiple times where our food was and the waiter was so harried and said , “this is becoming a real problem”. People were lined up at the door and tables all around us were complaining about the wait times for their food. When we finally got our second course, of course the 3rd course arrived seconds later. Nothing was comped on our bill for all of our complaints or wait time, and nothing was ever offered for the issues. Manager never came to us or any other tables to apologize.
Valentines Evening dinner. 8pm reservation seated on time. Observed other patrons heard there was a long wait to be served. Seen portion size for earlier seating and they looked amazing and good size.
Drinks were ordered promptly. After that is when it all went down hill. About 30 mins later was finally asked to order. Was asked to put all 4 courses in so they could prep the kitchen. Oh let’s back up, We had bread plates but was never served or asked if we wanted any.... now about her 45 mins later the soup and salads appear. (So we now have been there 90 mins. ) good thing they had a bottle of wine per couple. Soup was not as listed on me any. Just thrown together.... waited another 25 mins for next selection. These portions were so small and ridiculous. Oysters, shrimp and chicken strips. (Terriable sizing. And we all have been to many top restaurants in our careers. This was actually hilarious for what was served. Then the main entree was served and it was only worse. Portions were 1/2 the size of portions for early seating. Halibut was maybe 2”x2”. For main course. Sad... the other plates had 2 scallops. The filet was maybe 3oz.
All in all this was terriable to spend this kind of money. We have been there a few other times but this was very disappointing. I’m sure the there was not enough food available this is why the portions were cut in half.
Not satisfied with the poor service, food portions and quality of food. 1 Star ⭐️ at best.
Valentines food Menu was all delicious. Restaurant was a full house and staff was busy. Service was a little slow but allowed time for conversation and we didn’t feel rushed.
It was forValentine’s Day. A four course meal for $75 per person. Food was very good but the service was slow. The waiting staff was blaming the kitchen but there seemed to be a lot of food at the window waiting.to be picked up
We live in Indianapolis and we were just looking for something different. For the price and selection, we could have found it by staying locally.
Food was great, service was fantastic the waitress was personable, attentive but did not over do it. Atmosphere was quite nice considering it was in a shopping center. And we didn’t have to worry about parking.
Made a 6:00 reservation. We were seated immediately. Our server was very nice and gave us great recommendations. The appetizer was awesome! My steak and the wife’s fish special, excellent! The only down side was it took so long to get the meal. Other then that, I would highly recommend.
Nice, service can be slow at times.
I made reservations for New Years eve for a party of 4. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation and were graciously welcomed and seated immediately. We first saw our waiter about 15 minutes after being seated. He took drink orders, which were promptly filled. The menu for the night was a set 4 course given the holiday. We ordered and waited an hour for the first round of food to arrive. We realized pretty quickly that our waiter (who was really fantastic) was taking care of 2 LARGE parties, our table, plus a table or two in the back. We finally inquired with the "water woman" about course 2. She agreed to check in on our food and returned with it a few minutes later. Repeat the process for the main course and dessert. She was super gracious and helpful. Our waiter finally returned with our checks, was profusely apologetic, and very kind. He did let us know that the dinner service was supposed to take about 90-120 minutes. We were almost 3 hours. The food was ALL excellent. I understand that the evening is busy, but every other table around us had finished and been reseated and served before we were halfway through our meal. Management seemed to actively avoid stopping in and checking with us, in spite of the fact that the floor manager stopped at most of the other tables. So... I would recommend Truffles for its great food, just not if you are on a tight time table.
New Years eve
Food was excellent...we were in the back room and the room was a little cold, and service was a bit on the slow side.
Most beautiful Christmas tree!
I have reviewed Truffles several times in the past and my evaluation remains top of the line. It is our neighborhood bistro and one of our favorite Bloomington restaurants. Mark runs a great shop here and we recommend it highly for food, service and ambiance. They take good care of their customers.
Food was excellent and a very good value, served in a timely manner as well.
