   Wanted an intimate business dinner. Every table that was seated was on every side of us with parts of the restaurant empty. It was troubling, but not my decision how people are seated. Took away from the evening to feel so crowded and dealing with loud conversations.

   It took over an hour to receive our food and the restaurant was half empty. They also made changes to the food without changing the menu or letting the customer know that things had changed.

   We were disappointed that there was an extra charge of $1 per piece of bread with a meal that averaged $54 for each person. Bread should have been included as it is at every other fine restaurant we have visited.

   Our first visit here. Decided to try it for dinner after seeing a number of good reviews locally. Menu has a variety of options and we both chose off the Specials of the evening. I had leg of lamb steak, which was boneless. I guess I was a little surprised at how much fat was on that cut. The outside had a pretty solid char which overpowered the flavor of the meat imo. I eventually cut it off so I could get more meat flavor. The house made mint sauce was very good and very sweet. A little went a long way. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his rib eye special which he said was cooked perfectly. My side was risotto, which I'm not a huge fan. I've had it once or twice where I really liked it, this was okay. The asparagus in the risotto was very good and cooked perfectly as well, not limp and a little crispy. Our cocktails were both tasty, whiskey sour and amaretto sour.

   The food was excellent but they could spend more effort in decluttering and enhancing the decor. We will go back for the food but it would jump to a favorite with better decor.

   First time I have dined there for years. It was on a Saturday night following a major Indiana University basketball game so it was busy but I was able to secure a last minute reservation. It took around 55 minutes to be seated, order, and receive our food. My granddaughter said her Cavatappi pasta with chicken was worth the wait. My special brine soaked pork chop was not as tender as I had hoped and was difficult to cut. Prices were reasonable. Service was slow which I blamed on the kitchen being busy, not the server. I would be willing to go back and try a steak entree.

    We each had a chicken entree which was overcooked and rubbery and took over 30 minutes to arrive. We normally only have the excellent French fries. The cocktails are very good.

    The food at Truffles is always, always top-notch! From the cocktails to the entrees to the deserts, I enjoy every part of every meal there. Sometimes the service is excellent, and at its worst (busiest) it is still good. I also appreciate the lighting and ambiance - it is comfortable and I enjoy bringing guests new to Bloomington here. From the outside, it can seem very unassuming - but it is really one of the best restaurants in Bloomington.

    I booked a reservation here for my girlfriends birthday and she is vegetarian so the meal she got was the highlight of the restaurant because she wasn’t expecting it to be delicious as she assumed.

    The food is a little pricey but very good. We had oysters and charcuterie tray for appetizers. Both of them were very good and fresh. Cocktails and wine were good and arrived appropriately. All four dinners of steak, chicken and lamb tasted great with nice arrangements on the plate. Overall a great dinner and time with friends.

    We went to Truffle’s for New Year’s Eve hoping to have a nice meal before going to a later celebration at 10 pm. Our reservation was for 7:30 pm. We figured 2 hours was plenty of time to have our meal and return home before the party. Immediately when we arrived, the staff seemed frantic. It took them a few minutes to acknowledge us and several more to be seated. The restaurant was clearly very busy, so waiting wasn’t an issue. When we did get to our table, we took a look at the menu, ordered drinks, and promptly made our meal choices. It then took 45 minutes just to get our drinks! That same pace would continue throughout the night. Salads 30 minutes later, appetizers another 15, and then our main course probably another 30 after that, as it was close to 9:45 when we were eating our meals (2 hours and 15 minutes after our reservation!). We promptly asked for the check when the meal came out and explained to the server that we had a prior engagement. Our server packaged up our desserts to-go, which was kind. He also apologized for the wait and disorder several times throughout the meal and was genuinely doing the best he could on a busy night. But when the bill came, there was no acknowledgement from the restaurant that anything was wrong. No drinks were comped, no discounts given—nothing. It appeared the management cared much more about maximizing their revenue than they did providing a good customer experience. Clearly they overbooked their reservations and did not have the capacity to handle so many tables, but at least try to rectify the situation and show some concern for your customers. Will not be back.

    We had reservations for 6:30. Once we arrived we were immediately seated. But once seated we didn’t have menus or a waiter for 15mins. Once we got a menu and ordered drinks we had to wait another 15 mins for drinks. All while everyone around us were getting refills. Truffles was our go to spot before tonight. Their drinks are delicious. But that evening the food was not good. It almost taste sour. Oh well you live and learn. We paid, Tipped and left.

    Main entree selections are somewhat too limited. Filet was great, vegetarian ravioli was great and duck breast was great. The server was awesome. Wish some fresh baked warm bread was offered.

    Was a party of 8 guests and each dish was outstanding. I ordered from their specials a foie gras starter and then tandoori rubbed lamb lollipos. Top notch presentation and preparation. Server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Easily worth the price.

    The food was fantastic, but the vibes were off on the ambiance. From the walls up the place is very nice -- art, high ceilings, etc. But from the top of the booths down everything looked cheap. The carpet needs to be replaced, chairs were stacked in corners. The waiter said he was leaving 10 minutes before the restaurant closed without bringing us the check, and that was weird. I don't know. Weird experience.

    It was a busy IU Homecoming Friday night out and I brought a friend and his daughter, who was in town visiting. We had a 6:45 reservation and the place was hoppin'. Elli (maybe) our server was cheery and knowledgeable about the menu and kept us in the loop on the timing of our order coming out. Did I mention it was BUSY? We ordered drinks, appetizers, entree and dessert. Old Fashioned's were on point, the pine nut crusted goat cheese bruscetta is one of my favorite appetizers on their menu, and we ordered the salmon, bone in pork loin, and duck. All were delicious. Cheesecake and Sea Salt & Caramel cake for dessert was excellent. Excited to go back!

    My girlfriends and I had an incredibly delicious dinner at Truffles. They change out their menu often and offer delicious options. Their soups and salads are fabulous! The soup of the day was this amazing corn chowder with a hint of truffle oil - to die for!!! All of us had the petite filet dinner, and they were cooked to perfection. They had a specialty Dreamsicle martini....SOOO YUMMY! Our lovely waitress, Mackinzie, was outstanding! She was so friendly and attentive.

    Treated with defensiveness and some hostility by a senior member of the staff when a debate/questioned ensued about a request. As the organizer and person who made the reservation and who had reconfirmed several times when making the reservation, no fewer than three times that evening, our preference, I should have been consulted about any changes. Basic professional etiquette. The food was good albeit slow to the table and the server did an admirable job with a large group. Truffles had a limited, set menu that evening but the choices were diverse and we were able to order A La Carte. Most of us have been going there for years. The verdict is out and whether a few of us will be back.
