True West Brewery
The Massachusetts-local crossroads that is True West Brewery culminates to a rich sharing of stories, a place of play and celebration. Our food: seasonal and handcrafted – sourced, from the finest of the season’s fruits, by our local farmers, growers, fishermen, brewers, distillers and artisans. And our beer: well, it flows a mere 30 feet from our 10 barrel craft brewery to your pint.
I hope to give them another chance. Sadly, the Risotto was extremely salty that evening. I was so hungry I ate 2/3 of it and the shrimp on top. The waitress took it off the bill or otherwise I would not go back. I didn't ask her to. I hope to try more than just the stout which was pretty good. My daughter's chicken was way overcooked but she was hungry and ate all of it. The aura felt odd...but as mentioned, the waitress saved the day/night. This is probably a great place to hang out and try a few different craft beers and appetizers which is what I'll do next time.
We made a 7pm reservation for a Saturday night. Still had to wait 45 minutes for our table. While the food was great (the dry rub wings were the best I’ve had), my husbands burger came barely cooked on the first run. Our waitress quickly had it corrected and it came back perfect the second time. It might be a better place to try mid-week or when you’re not in a rush. We appreciated the gluten free menu, and that they have Pony Shack Cider on draft (our fav).
Always a great experience at True West! We love the food, beverages and atmosphere! Don't forget to experience the speak-easy! So much fun, especially in the warm weather to take advantage of the screened in casual dining area!
Good food. Good beer. Good time.
I found the food to be outstanding. I found the staff to be less than engaging. Nice enough, but it didn't seem like anyone working here was very invested in creating a good experience. This was Valentine's day, so perhaps everyone is a bit extra non-enthused. But if the ambiance and staff matched the excellence of the food, this place would be unstoppable.
Very disappointed. The food was ok, but not exceptional as was the beer. The service was very poor. Won't go back.
We had a number of appetizers: wings, duck meatballs, fried pickles and "The Dilla". The food as just "OK", nothing special to write home about. The meatballs were a tad on the dry side, as were the fried pickles. The Dilla as the best item.
The beer was ok - although they were "out" of one of my choices. How can a brewery be out of a beer at 6:00 PM on a Friday?
Delicious food, great tasting beers and a great waitress! We had a very good experience (2nd one so far). Plenty of gluten-free options! Love how they work with local suppliers! We will be going back and would definitely recommend True West!
We had dinner on a snowy evening. It would have been nice if they turned on the heat in the dining room.
Had high hopes for a quick casual meal before a concert. Sadly it was underwhelming. Service was slow and sporadic (could not get my water filled, had to ask multiple times). Food was bland. My brussel sprout salad had almost no dressing on it, shrimp were well cooked but flavorless). Hubby's fish and chips were ok, fish was fresh but also bland. Too loud music combined with echo-y room made it hard to talk. Super uncomfortable metal chairs. We will not return.
True West is a great place to meet up with friends for dinner. It can be a bit on the noisy side on busy nights, but it was fine on the Sunday evening that we went.
Great beer and great food. A fun place for a bunch of friends to get together.
Great beer, not huge food selection but was good. Waitress seemed to forget about us for a while when we were waitinf
Great experience! Wonderful food, terrific beer, atmosphere was awesome. Will be coming back again!
Great bar, slow dining room service.
Food was great but few mistakes. Friends burger came out without fries. Had to wait awhile for them. Another friend asked for a sample taste of beer which took long to come. Our server was slow and didn’t check in enough. Otherwise place is beautiful and food delicious.
I was warmly welcomed by the owner when I walked in and the bartender as well as wait staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! Not too fancy and not too simple, but so good! I never got the chance to try the cider pound cake for dessert, but will on my next visit.
It was noisy, but not too terrible to affect the experience. Which was great!
Thank you True West!
First time with family. Not very busy. We got our table quickly but had to wait about 15 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge us and bring menus. Other than that it was a good dining experience.
Enjoyed our evening. Can’t wait to return everyone was very accommodating and efficient. Thanks
A word of warning - you might fall in love with a beer and then it’s not there the next time you go. On the plus side, there are lots of others to try! Get the beer flight and sample a bunch to find your next fav. The food here is fantastic as well. The kitchen has its stuff together to put out really tasty stuff. Even if you are just stopping in for drinks, get something to nibble on. You won’t be disappointed!
Buffalo wings — one pound. And 7 scrawny wings weighing no more than 10 ounces were delivered. Wait staff was good about sending more wings. And they were among the best restaurant wings I have had. But a customer should not be forced to ask the waitress to weigh the wings because they are far below what was promised — this is a major kitchen breakdown that has to be fixed.
Great for burgers and beer brewed by True West. Good outside sitting area but Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights have a wonderful Speakeasy Bar that is well worth discovering.
Beer list was good and food was mostly good. Brussel sprouts were undercooked and crunchy. Not ideal for cross table conversations, but fun to try out.
Our server Amy was wonderful!! Great burgers & beer!
Overall a good experience. This is not fine dining by any means. The burgers, fried pickles and fish tacos are always my go to. The beer is great too. My friend had the Jerk Chicken and didn’t care for it but otherwise all was well. While it is loud, it’s a pub and I happen to like that kind of environment.
our apps arrived AFTER the entree and just a chuckle from our server and she said "they seem to be very busy" and "they don't listen to me that they need more help"
Service was slow. Very noisy and limited menu...meh
We had an amazing time celebrating a birthday!!!
Everything was great!!!! Going back very soon and telling all my friends❤️
I love this local spot! Great place to pop in, get something to eat, and enjoy whatever they have on tap.
Great scene with a great food and beer selection and quick/friendly service. Look forward to going back!
Nice place with good brews and good food!
Our waitress was distracted the entire time. Did not bring kids any beverage- or offer. And when we were trying to order drinks she walked away without taking our orders. At the end of the meal she offered to bring the kids ice creams, then was mad at "them" for not bringing them! I do like the food and the ambiance is very nice, but the service ruined the meal for us.
Great dinner on the deck! Food was good and beverages awesome
Food and beer was very delicious. The staff was very friendly!
My waitress insisted I try the Risotto over the fish and chips. The dish tasted far to fishy and I had no hint of cheese at all. I told the waitress I was unhappy with the Risotto and she responded with "Oh, that's too bad." She made no offer to rectify the situation. She didn't ask if I would like to try something else, just shrugged it off. She seemed put off. It was unpleasant to say the least. I thought about calling management but thought why bother.
The food was fun and the server did a great job being attentive but also giving us some space. She also was wonderful in surprising me with some really great brews for my flight since I had no idea what to pick. The only thing was that once it got busy, everything felt like it was getting to us much slower. Our dessert took the longest to get to us and we waited maybe a good 20 minutes for it. Other than that, this was a great, fun place with tasty food and beer.
This was our first time at True West, and although we were not blown away, we will certainly give it another go.
The food was good -- and good value -- and the ambiance was fine. But the service, although friendly, was too pushy and fast. In one case, one of our party had not finished with her main course and the server was trying to clear the table on her...
Unfortunately, our meal fell short in several areas. Undercooked or over cooked items, not up to our expectations. We had hoped for more. Service was good, but needs improvement in the kitchen.
Great place, very good food and friendly service. I found difficult to park the car nearby, the burger I ordered was a bit salty (too much bleu cheese). The ambient is noisy when is crowded, gets better when there are less people. The local beer is fantastic! I recommend, good place for couples and friends, not too much for families with babies and children (because of the noise).
Had a great time and can't wait to go back. We went on a Weds night and it wasn't too crowded and it was already getting loud. I think I would only go on a week day.
