There is a public carpark out the back of True South. This can be accessed via Beach Road (you turn down the small lane next to the bike shop) or Ebden Ave (you turn off Balcombe Road). Another small public carpark is on Balcombe Road itself (opposite Ebden Ave) and there is all day street parking in Ebden Ave itself.

We LOVE True South. We are from California/USA and ate here a year ago, and have just returned for a fabulous birthday dinner. Every dish was excellent — we shared many plates, so were able to enjoy many flavors. We’ll be back!

Great restaurant, varied menu with some vegetarian choices and good service. For starters, we had the jalapeño croquettes, king fish ceviche, lamb and corn empanadas, and for mains we had the fish tacos, broccolini, potatoes and pork belly. All the dishes were amazing, good fresh produce cooked with unique flavours. Will definitely be back to sample some of the other offerings in the menu.

Really Disappointing. We booked a table of 4 a few weeks ago to ensure we would get a good table, even though the restaurant wasn’t overly busy ( lots of large spaces between tables, clearly tables taken away for walk-ins and to create large tables towards the back) we were given the table next to the front door, which means every time someone open the door there was a cold draft. Asked if we could have another table, they said only a high table was available which my husband finds uncomfortable. Entrées were nice. Mains - we ordered 2 medium porterhouse and 1 medium rear porterhouse, we got 2 well done and 1 medium well done all chewy. I ordered the lamb special (waitress couldn’t even describe the cut even though it was a rack of lamb) and it was warm not hot. We didn’t send all 4 back because we waited so long for them to arrive in the first instance and it was past 9pm, we were hungry. Difficult to get waiters attention to order a glass of wine after our entrees. Our entree plates weren’t cleared away until our mains arrived. Considering the cost of the meal, we won’t be rushing back. We expected better.

Amazing food, terrible service. Kids food and drinks came out slowly and staggered despite us asking for them to come first and repeatedly asking the waitress where they were even after adults meals were already served. Our food was not all served when we were asked to vacate our table for the next booking.

Had one drink never asked for a second Coffee was very good but the deserts arrive d 10 minutes after the coffee Cheesecake was not fresh

I took a friend who had never been to True South before, she raved about how fresh and wonderfully tasty everything was. We had Kingfish tacos, winter veggies, potatoes and the broccolini which is to die for. We’ll both be back!
