This time was unsatisfactory. Food was luke warm and the avacado was almost non existent. I have eaten this item ancient grains numerous times and this was the nothing lik compared to before. Restaurant was not crowded so food should have been hot when delivered. Drinks took way too long to be served.

We mistakenly arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation. No problem! Happily told to sit, enjoy a beverage while we waited for the rest of our party. Server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Excellent cauliflower polenta, fish tacos, bowls. Yum!

We typically go here 3-4 times a month - what we like about the restaurant is that a lot of the dishes are vegetarian friendly and you have the option to add proteins for the carnivores (or tofu). New to the menu (at least I think it's new) is a flatbread starter that was almost a meal on it's own - the pumpkin / cilantro pesto was incredible. I also had chicken satay which, as it turns out, also came with the same pesto. The satay was good flavor-wise, but was pretty dry. Service was bustling as always.

We ordered $30 with of food, we both had the chicken wrap and a lavender tea each and got charged almost $48 because we paid the wrong bill. We didn’t notice until we left, too busy gabbing but they really need to pay attention and so we. The food and everything else was fantastic.

In a shopping mall with convenient parking next door and 3 hours free. Open design. Would have been less noisy outside. Excellent flavors and presentation. Many healthy choices including vegetarian.

Love True Kitchen. Always look forward to the Grain Bowl - although this time the tofu was soft and mushy and the sweet potatoes overcooked and mushy. disappointing. The Edamame Raviolis were delicious as was the cauliflower appetizer.

I think asking for $6 to add tofu to a Korean noodle dish is high. I realize all prices are high because Broadway Plaza charges a lot for rent but still...would eat there more often if prices were lower. Atmosphere, service good outside. Too noisy inside for comfortable conversation.

First flatbread corn appetizer was awful 4 pieces the Tom, corn pesto and cheese were on the middle two pieces. The two outer pieces had arugula only. Staff never bothered to stop by table. Then enter arrived. Always order Ancient Grain bowl w Tofu. You could tell a different chef this day. Tofu and sweet potatoes always sautéed. No this time. Very mushy. Sweet potatoes skin was left on. This ruined the whole dish. Couldn’t eat it. Serve red never returned(he) until she dropped off check. Guess he went in break so no kne bothered to cover our table. Just did take out the Thursday before. Food sat in back and by the time it came out it was cold. I had to leave. Spoke to Mgr and she could have cared less. She stated she would speak to staff. Didn’t offer to remake or credit my bill.

My husband and I met friends for lunch at True Food Kitchen in Walnut Creek. It was our first and shall be our only experience there. We eat out several times a week and over the years I have only ever written a single negative review of a restaurant. This will be my second one.

On every score, our experience was negative. The menu was pretentious; the food mediocre and overpriced; the portions small; and the service appalling in spite of the fact the restaurant was not crowded.

Just in terms of the service, this was our experience: we were given only 2 menus for 4 people at our table and we had to request and wait for additional menus. We had to request silverware. Two appetizers, both of which required serving spoons, arrived with just one spoon. No one cleaned the table between courses and it needed it. The server presented us with one dessert menu for 4 people. After we ordered 2 desserts and only one arrived; we reminded the server and still the second dessert still never arrived. We gave up.

And finally, when I went to the restroom, I discovered there was no toilet paper, which in retrospect, seems on a par with the overall experience.

I LOVE True Food Kitchen! Mostly from our experiences at the Phoenix location. Been there 5x. We go to the WC location about every other month. Food is always wonderful. Seasonal dishes too. I usually give them 5 stars but the arrogance of the hostess and wait staff tainted our experience. Our female server acted like she didn’t have time for us or the table next to us. She wouldn’t linger and listen while we were deciding on our final choices to order, wanting her input. She just abruptly left the table each time without saying a word. She needs to learn about “service”. This was not her first night. This location needs to find mature staff which I realize is a challenge given the spoiled adult kids in this area. We tipped her well hoping to encourage her to do better next time.

Very interesting menu. Great selection of entrees. Lots of vegetarian options. Enjoyed the food, freshly prepared. The restaurant is big, high ceilings, with lots of metal and cement. Like being in an aircraft hangar. Not cozy at all. Very difficult to have a conversation with all the noise. We went on a Saturday night during the dinner hour. Next time will try an off-peak hour.

This is a convenient location to meet at Broadway Plaza. The dining room has high ceilings and is very loud for conversation, so we sat outside, which was pleasant. The service was just OK--no refills on water, for example. The food was tasty, although I found $5 for iced tea with sparkling water to be high, even for this locale.

Great customer service. We wanted to split our entrees and without asking, they brought those items out on separate plates and bowls. Very thoughtful of them. We ordered lots of food and wanted to sample everything. There food is so fresh. We loved the Spicy Curry & the salads. This is my favorite spot to eat healthy and delicious food.
