My friend and I have dined here a few times and it is always great. Today, we both ordered the lasagne and it was awesome!!!!
Terrible service over priced.
The food was better than expected, our sever Teresa was outstanding!
Very healthy restaurant, food was excellent, cocktails were awesome! !!
Foot is always freely present and and well seasoned. I just wish the inside seating is better baffled for noise. Hard to carry on a normal conversation...
True Food is endorsed by Andrew Weil, and the menu supports that. We ate there for the first time on Valentines Day, a difficult day for most restaurants to keep up with table service. They were adequately staffed with smiles, the food came out reasonably fast (15-20 minutes) and was hot when it arrived. In spite of them being packed to the gills, including the covered outdoor area during the storm, and people overflowing the waiting area our order was correct when it arrived in spite of my many allergies. My husband had the lasagna, which he enjoyed. I had the chicken, without the sauce (due to allergies) which was delicious. The ice tea had a wonderful hint of mango to it. The drink I ordered for my dessert was not was I had mistakenly assumed it would be and when I mentioned that to our waitress, she was quick to offer another choice that would be more to my liking. While our experience was a pleasurable dining experience, the noise level seemed very high, but most places in Walnut Creek are. It is not the romantic setting one might want for Valentines Day, but you could eat here every day, find something different to eat and not feel guilty about eating out so much.
Service needs a little work. I ordered things that never showed up. My son got a drink spilled on him and they laid no attention to all of the dirty dishes on the table. Food is close to perfect. The only reason I am dating this is bc the staff was super nice. They just don’t really know how to “detail”. Also there wewas plenty of staffvrolling around. So I know the manpower was there. If it’s. It a lazy thing then maybe they just need a little more education.
Loved the food, server was great, ambiance and time spent with my daughter!! I have my favorites that
like to have. Next time will try something new!
True Food Kitchen is overall amazing, love to come again!
The menu needs to be refreshed more often and the noise level reduced significantly.
Great seasonal menu. The cauliflower is a must! We enjoyed the seasonal salad, butternut squash pizza, ancient grain bowl, lasagna and burger. The four of us finished with three of the desserts with the flourless chocolate cake and chia banana pudding being our favorites. Very friendly staff and he had an awesome waiter, Jake! We’ll back soon.
The food is really good. The menu is a little limited and the drinks are hard to figure out. My only real issue is that we felt totally rushed. Even tho the restaurant wasn’t busy.
I love this restaurant. Took a friend visiting from out of town here for dinner. She loved it. Such delicious healthy food. And fun!
I’ve been here a bunch because I like that they have a lot of healthy options, but it is really overpriced ($24 for a curry with shrimp?!) and the service is slow. After a disappointing last few trips, we likely won’t be back.
Always great food and service is supper great. They remember us every time we show up and even thought we make reservations they are able to seat us early of they can. We generally have brunch after church every other Sunday
Being a vegetarian I was very excited to try True Food, particularly as both my wife as her daughter have been to the one in Newport Beach many times and raved about it.
I was not disappointed! The food was fantastic and the service impeccable (mostly... more on that.) Although it was a large and noisy room, my wife and and could carry on a conversation quite easily.
My only criticism came at the very end of the evening when the bill was brought out. The server brought it out and presented it to me, I assume, thinking because I was male I would be paying it. My wife got out her credit card, placed it in the folder and put it back in a neutral area of our table. The server picked it and brought it back after charging us and, once again presented it to me as if I had paid it.
This may seem to be a small matter, but it definitely lessened our overall experience. We often run into this male-centric bias in restaurants, but we expected better from a more progressive establishment like True Food. It’s easy enough to simply place the bill in a neutral location with the assumption that either party might be paying it, or at the very least, look at the name on the card to see who paid it.
Again, it may seem a small matter, but one we feel really deserves attention.
Great options for healthy food with reasonable portions
This is supposed to be healthy, but the noise level can make you deaf. Come on, folks. Add a little fabric or softening to the walls, floor or anywhere. The noise was unbearable. I will never be back.
There were almost no vegan options and the one I had was coated in oil. If you want to feed vegans, look up Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman, or Forks Over Knives, available everywhere.
The only reason I gave only 4 stars was the noise level. There was also music playing but all that we could hear was a heavy beat of that music reverberating under the conversation and echo-like quality of the room’s acoustics. We found it distracting from the whole experience. The food we had was very good and our wait staff did a great job!
I would because I like the food. I cook the same way at home. So eating out at True Food makes choices easy to do!
Excellent service but one dish was bland and had to ask for more sauce. Portions were small for the price and way too noisy.
Love every time. The cocktails are delicious. We Had the Yuzu Martini, Citrus Colada and Citrus Margarita. The fig and onion tart, Edamame dumplings, quinoa in n out Burger and Panang Curry. All soo good and group faves. Lively loud restaurant. Great food.
Great healthy options. Very noisy so difficult for conversations.
Brunch menu was limited. Our scrambles were super greasy. Service was very, very slow even though when we arrived there were very few people there.
Great food. Hard to get reservations during normal dinner hours. Very busy. Food great. Service was a little slow but friendly.
The cauliflower appetizer was amazing. And I hate cauliflower.
Great food. Great service. Great food recommendations by your wait staff
As always a favorite of mine.
Excellent service and food - as always! A bit loud and always pricey for what you get but great experience overall.
Thanks for accommodating our tables’ severe nut allergy. The smell of nuts was strong near us, and were quickly moved to a table outside since it had better airflow.
Too noisy inside. Have to sit on heated patio
My family loves True Food. Something for everyone. The hummus and Brussels starters are very very good. Salads are very fresh. Kale salad and chopped are our favorites. Any fish dish offered is worth a try on the seasonal menu.
The noise in this restaurant gives me a headache...would be willing to pay more for a quiet ambiance. :-(
Terrific choices for vegetarians; wonderful flavors beautifully prepared.
Quick service.
Quite pricey for amount you are served.
Noise level deafening!
Love the food but
Our server was fantastic and met the needs of our unique group. He was attentive and did a great job.
Disappointed with the smashed avocado dish. I expected a healthy amount of avo, not a thin spread.
Gluten free, dairy free options. Creative dishes. Always the freshest, cleanest ingredients. We can't say enough good things about True Food Kitchen!
It took four people to get the heater off, above us. Salad was served and half way thru, the entree came!!
Food and service was good as always!
