We’re eat at True Foods Kitchen every other week. We decided to celebrate my wife’s birthday there with 6 guests. Big mistake. Drinks were late. Starters were late. Main course was served on top of late starters. We didn’t stay to have dessert.

One of my preferred lunch destinations, the cuisine is excellent, although I do wish the portion sizes were slightly larger. Nevertheless, the overall service and ambiance are exceptional.

Food is always fresh and consistent. I’ve been going to True Food since it opened in the Valley. One of my favorites to share with friends. We had the worst service. She got the order wrong, it had to be redone. Never apologized for the time it took to get it right. She seemed to hate her job! Won’t keep me from coming back, but poor experience for my guest. It was her first time.

Overall the food is always great and the servers do a nice job. Biggest issue is we made a reservation for eight and they put us outside with no cooling system. You’d think with a large party that makes reservations that it would be inside, but they said we never specified we wanted inside. Poor planning on their behalf considering all other restaurants default to inside.

I ordered the pesto pasta with chicken. 1) The pasta was way overcooked...to the point it was falling apart and the chicken breast was dry and tough. 2) we were seated outside next to the stairs and toilet...lots of traffic and noise.

Food & space & service excellent. Noise too much. Can’t have a decent conversation. Noise is compounded by needing to yell above the din, and repeating what you said because you weren’t heard, then you yell even louder.

Food is always fresh and delicious. We had the Chicken Panini with a chopped salad side and a Mediterranean Salad with Grilled Chicken. Mason was an awesome server. He was nice, friendly and attentive.

We ordered the quiche which was very good, but had a spring mix on top of it that was extremely salty. It really didn't need it. The coffee i ordered came to me cold. The waitress offered to give me a new one but i declined she took it off the bill.

Service can be excellent or simply okay depending on who it is. They have some phenomenal veterans who serve as if it is their calling, others are going through the motions as quickly as possible. Slow down, breathe...or at least do so when interfacing with customer. I served I get it. Keep the ambivalent air for your peer group, especially at the hostess stand.

We have been a frequent diner at True Food Scottsdale. Unfortunately for the last few visits the food has been lukewarm. Beyond that, the quality of the food is also quite variable - sometimes adequate sauce, sometimes bland and dry. It’s a nice place with generally good service, but the food is just not good.

The hostess was not welcoming- basically looked at us and was questioning why we were there. The chairs at the table were dirty and had to be wiped off, service was marginal and overall quality of food isn’t what it used to be. Had to ask for water over and over. A server who wasn’t ours was asked and he never brought the water nor did he say he would inform our server. Just not a great experience overall and will think twice about going back.

My husband had eggs with chicken sausage and sweet potato hash. Everything was dry and not very flavorful. I had the Gouda turkey burger and it was very good. We do really like this location and will definitely be back, but will avoid their egg dishes.

Friend had the lasagna, and said it was delicious. We also both had the charred cauliflower, which is always one of my favorites. And the teriyaki quinoa bowl was very good.
