True Food Kitchen is amazing! Great food, great service and always a fun atmosphere! The Vegan choices are beyond delicious and the variety of drinks are always a plus!
My friends and I wanted an elegant dining where we could catch up with an out of town friend. My first stop was OT, especially since it was a holiday weekend. Getting the res was easy, the check in quick, and True Foods saved a great spot for us.
We had a shared appetizer of hummus and everyone ordered a drink and an entree. Most had a dessert or after drinks. We ended up staying till closing and the staff made us feel welcome and kept checking in.
I had the Artisanal Grain bowl with shrimp and it tasted great. It was temperature correct and was very good. Others had entrees, soups and salads, or other bowls. Most of my party had not been to True Foods and were very happy with their food.
Great food and drinks. Service was not great, usually very friendly and attentive staff in other locations. Hope it was an “off” night for the Plano staff, the hostess was quite rude and the server did just enough to be professional.
Really enjoyed my birthday dinner. Everyone was great from the hostess to the waiter. The food came out quickly and was excellent. Loved the fish tacos. The chocolate cake for dessert was really good, too. It is loud and busy, it a fun place to dine,
If you want healthy, flavorful and interesting food True Foods needs to be on your go- to restaurant list. About the only down side is the main dining room is fairly large and noisy. We were able to maintain a conversation without shouting but there is a noticeable din. There is a small dining room off the back that is nice and quiet. Five stars for food preparation, quality and enthusiastic staff.
Love this place! I loved the one in Chicago so I was excited to see one in Plano. It was so good we came back for brunch the next day.
We love true foods! We are weekly customers! My son Matthew loves your fish tacos and so do I. My daughter loves the margarita pizza and my husband shawn loves the salmon bowl w quinoa. We love the atmosphere at true foods legacy west. The serve is always excellent along with the food.
Had a reservation which didn't seem to matter. We were sat close to door which was not ideal because every time someone opened the door you got hit with cold air.
The food was amazing! This was a first visit and amazed how delicious everything was. Why, they somehow, magically can even make a kale salad taste awesome!
I like the food at the restaurant; it’s a nice place for casual; it’s a bit loud for a quiet dinner.
We certainly enjoyed our fish tacos there! They’ve got the best entrees!
We went to True Food Kitchen for Valentines Day this year and it was fantastic! The server recommended the seasonal salmon with a pumpkin seed pesto, and it was to die for! We couldn’t have asked for better service.
Very attentive service. The food is very "imaginative" and combines ingredients in very creative and delicious ways. Great menu. The portions aren't large, so you might find yourself ordering several things to complete a "full" meal...which will lead to a bill in the range of about $ 100 for 2 diners...which may not include adult beverages. They have an app you can download to your smartphone that will provide you with $ 10 off your first visit.
We enjoyed a nice Valentines Day dinner. Everything was as expected! A little louder than I would
Jace liked. We also got seated by the door which wasn’t ideal. Overall a great place with amazing food.
Loved the food. It tasted amazing and i will definitely be coming back.
The Food and service was excellent, the healthy farm to table salads and entrees were exceptional.
True Food is one of my favorite restaurants! I try! something different every time I eat there and am delighted by every dish! It can get busy and noisy but the food is worth it! They do take reservations which is helpful for navigating the busy times.
We love the fresh ingredients and fresh juices and drinks. True Food Plano is our go to place when we want a great meal without feeling like we are eating "bad".
Service was excellent but overall experience was meh. The chaotic and unfriendly hosts were a bad first impression. And we left with not a thank you from all three of them. Noise level was terrible. Cocktails weren’t shaken so flavors werent well/blended. Food was good for most art but the anssazi beans were not cooked all the way. I sent them back and they brought me room temp rice. It was all just underwelming. Except our server. She was on point.
We had a reservation at 7:15 PM, showed up on time, and were not seated until 7:45 PM. We had pregnant women in our party who needed to sit down and therefore we made a reservation well in advance. True Food Kitchen needs to do a much better job of honoring reservations.
Always a great meal
Excellent service. Waiter was familiar with menu and what substitions he felt would still compliment the dish. Food was great. Will definately be back!
Healthy good food. Nice touch. Nice location.
Edamame dumplings were great as always, however the Teriyaki bowl dish has been inconsistent the last few visits.
Fresh and delicious as always!
The food was amazing!
Our server, PJ I think, was absolutely fantastic. I have some specific food allergies and he was very helpful on finding something I can enjoy!!!
Always a great atmosphere and the food is excellent. This time around though, my Cashew Pad Thai was a lot spicier, and almost too much chili flavor that is ruined the flow of the dish.
Our waiter, James was very professional. It made this special occasion a memorable one.
Always a great meal. Can’t go wrong with my favorite... the Ancient Grains Bowl!
Great experience. Food was exceptionally delicious. Got there a little early but seated immediately. Never felt rushed and service was great. Will definitely go back.
we have tried teriyaki quinoa and pizza, teriyaki was excellent and pizza is ok
We are True Food lovers and dine often but this visit was just off for some reason. We were seated right away for a later lunch about 1:45 although it literally took another 7-8 minutes before we were greeted at our table. Then another another 7-8 minutes before we were asked if we would like something to drink and then still had not received water. This same pattern went on the entire meal.
I guess the staff shifts were changing over and there might of been less staff but the ones that were there were busy reseating tables and restocking but not attending our table for some reason.
The restroom had not been attended to either.
This is not the norm for this location and we had dined several times of the day.
I should of said something to the manager on duty but it was time to leave after an hour plus for a simple lunch.
Great place for hanging out and eating good food, staff is exceptional, food is tasty, healthy and innovative use of ingredients. The place is very noisy for my taste, to the extent that you have to speak very very loud for anyone to hear you.
Overall good place, will go back maybe when it’s less noisy.
Love True Foods!! Was glad to see them open so I wouldn’t have to drive across town to their other location .. Have been a customer for years..
love it! great food! great service! always enjoyable!
We eat at Tru Food Kitchen quite regularly. A few of our regular selections were not quite as good this visit. We realize that everything is prepared fresh so flavors can vary. We were a little disappointed this time, but it won’t keep us from going back to try them again.
Family visiting from out of state.
We have dined here multiple times because we love the menu options - something to please everyone. We had some problems during this visit however. First off, our drinks took 30 minutes. My son's dinner was served before we got our drinks. We spoke up and turns out they were out of something we had ordered. That is fine but it should not have taken 30 minutes for this to get figured out. The manager apologized (we didn't even complain, just asked what was going on with the drinks). So we appreciated that. For an appetizer we got the brussel sprouts and mushrooms. Very good flavor. For entrees we had the dashi ramen, the kid's burger, the quinoa burger, the margarita pizza, and a turkey burger. The pizza was underwhelming but everything else was excellent. We decided on the squash pie (very similar to pumpkin pie) and the chocolate cake for dessert. Both were very good. My son got a scoop of vanilla ice cream and pulled out a small piece of soft plastic out of his mouth and said it was in his ice cream. I informed the waitress and she apologized and took it to the manager. He came by very quickly and apologized and said how embarrassed he was that our meal had multiple problems and then proceeded to comp our entire bill! We were shocked. We love True Food and the issues we had would have never stopped us from continuing to eat there. Their amazing customer service is telling of what kind of business they run.
