True Food Kitchen - Pasadena
The food and service were great. The restaurant is super noisy to the point that we had difficulty hearing one another. The restaurant also wrote me in as a "no show", even though I went to the hostess, and identified that I had a reservation before getting seated.
The main problem is clearly the huge noisiness in the restaurant. Everything else is mostly very good.
Food was amazing and the service was equally good. Very casual atmosphere so great for everyday dining. Highly recommend.
Nice place and the food was excellent except our burger was undercooked.
Food was not good and it was served cold. Good place for drinks and maybe apps, but that is about it.
Great as always 😀
Amanda was a very nice and attentive server!
The only problem I’ve ever encountered when we go to true foods and we’ve been there several times, is it it does take at least 15 minutes before someone approaches your table to knowledges you. other than that once they get there they’re very nice and friendly and the food is great, but they really respond in a timely manner when you sit down.
The ambience is lovely, the staff once they get there are very friendly and nice and the food is fantastic.
Great service! Wonderful. Good food and portions. Nice selections. Clean and fun
Always enjoy eating at True foods. Although this time, my friend’s Seasonal Salad portion was much smaller than usual. She asked for chicken as the added protein and that it be chopped also. It was not chopped and the portion was very small. Waitress was very busy but did make time to check up on us. Food is great quality and tasty but hopefully they keep up the same quality and portion sizes as that’s what keeps us as returning customers.
They weren’t friendly. I had a reservation and yet they didn’t have a table for us. They kept saying a few more minutes or let’s see what I can do. We eventually went to the corner bar area. Not sure why I had a reservation. I saw my name on their list too so they clearly had time to prepare. After that they weren’t very friendly or helpful. We felt as if we were annoying them.
It was overall a good experience. Food was delicious.
It was a wonderful experience. Had the change to hung out with a good friend of mind as couples. The restaurant provided the right vibe to the occasion.
Amazing food, I am not a Vegetarian, but when I come here, I truly enjoy ordering the Veg options.
The food was delicious. Nice ambiance and very clean restaurant. Our server, Catherine, was excellent - very attentive and professional.
Have yet to have a bad meal or experience here. Highly recommend.
Good overall experience - will go again.
Great night with friends! Amazing ambiance, delicious food coupled with fabulous service. Will definitely return.
Out of town friends
We eat at True Food all over the country. This chef was not the same quality. Hate even saying this.
My family met there on New Year's Eve at 1:30, the place was super busy. We had reservations, and had us all seated in 10 minutes. We had all kinds of eaters in the group: carnivores, vegetarians, vegan, and gluten free. Everyone was happy! And our waitress was exceptional, especially in dealing with such a large group. Thanks True Kitchen!
Outstanding and our guests from Seattle loved it.
We had a fantastic time celebrating a friend's birthday at True Food! The staff was incredible and the food was delicious. Highly recommend for a group gathering, date spot, or lunch/dinner with a friend.
My friends and I had a delightful time. The waiter read our needs perfectly and the food was delicious!
My first time at True Food and I am very impressed with the flavor, options and food. I had the edamame dumplings, fish tacos and desserts (squash pie and chia seed pudding). The food is very well prepared and fresh. The ambiance is engaging and bright. I will definitely come back.
Excellent food selections except they ran out of salmon and striped bass.
I love this restaurant! I always get the ancient grain bowl with salmon and it never disappoints. Yesterday we got the Brussels sprouts and they were very mediocre. They were not warm and tasted boiled. Avoid those!
We sat Inside yesterday and I much prefer outdoors. It’s pretty noisy inside. But overall, excellent!
This is a hot spot with a interesting and creative- healthy menu. The ambiance is great - the service is good but inconsistent with the little things like water refills and requested items.
Will be happy to return and explore the menu further.
We had eaten at the true foods in AZ a few times and had stopped off at this one on our drive from sf to Palm Springs We would ave given both Phoenix True Food Outstanding grades.
My dad is a strict vegetarian and the service there was outstanding. They did very well to accommodate our needs. We enjoyed our dining there.
Our large group was pleasantly seated in the enclosed room to the East. This felt intimate and the fire in the fireplace added to the ambience. For a large group I was glad to see all the dishes come out withing 3-4 minutes of each other so people weren't politely waiting too long to start eating. The service felt a little bit subpar- I think the servers would forget about us being in the side room and they seemed perhaps overly busy. On the plus side, they didn't push us out right after we finished so there was plenty of time for relaxed conversation. Food was excellent, salads full of interesting flavors, chocolate cake so tasty. Only dish that failed was the lasagna, it was way too salty.
True Food Pasadena Never Disappoints! A great place to meet a girlfriend or a colleague for lunch or happy hour.
We had our staff holiday luncheon there and the food and service was very good.
Excellent food, great coffee, terrific service. Outdoor patio was very pleasant. Our only complaint was that the bloody marys were super weak; almost like a virgin mary.
It was a lovey time to be had. Great company. Most of the food was good. Our server could have a little less judgement in her eyes and she didn’t mention our special occasion once. Second time coming. It was overall a great experience but I’ll probably find a new place to go.
Good food, very expensive for what you get. Basic meal for 2 with coffee, $100.
Only negative was it was a rather chilly day and yes they have lots of doors, and they were all open.
We have been several times, and will come back.
Everything was great!
The food is delicious and healthy, but the service, the kitchen, and bar are very, very slow. The servers are very nice, but even a water is very slow. I have been to this restaurant 5 times, and the very slow part is consistent. Be prepared to have a very nice server, who doesn't do greet you, give you water, or anything else in a normal amount of time.
We have been fans of TFK, but on this and our previous visit last month we felt let down by poor service. Right from the start, no attempt had been made to reserve us a table in the Pasadena Room, as requested. While I realize this cannot be guaranteed, it came as a complete surprise to the greeter, who tried to persuade us to go across the patio to the Colorado Room, where food cools en route from the kitchen. But we waited for a table to open and finally got to be where we wanted. Then the service during the meal was indifferent and mechanical, with none of the enthusiasm so apparent at the TFK in Santa Monica. But the food was as good as ever, although one entree had to be sent back because it was too cold - not surprising, as the air conditioning seemed to have been set for high summer. I sense a place that is falling apart through incompetent management.
Great food as always!!
