Had a great first experience a few weeks ago so brought back some friends. Service was incredibly slow, we waited over an hour for our food. Brussel sprouts were supposed to be an appetizer but came out with our meals and were cold. tasted like the sauce was an afterthought that wasn’t prepared or cooked properly.
I got the coconut Thai sea bass. the heavily pickled mushrooms in it (i didn’t even know they were supposed to be in there. Were they? It was an odd fusion) were so overwhelming that I couldn’t taste the coconut Thai sauce or the quinoa that was buried under the pool. I asked for a spoon to aid in the process and after ten minutes our server came back with a little teaspoon and said she couldn’t find a better one. Guess it did the job, but ‘couldn’t find’ a spoon?? Everyone enjoyed their meals but I was bitter at the bad service with friends and very disappointed with my dish.
Food was good. Service was very good! I love the crudite' for its originality. Brussels sprouts were good and i had the baked spaghetti squash and added steak which was great. My husband had the cauliflower polenta bowl and that was not great. It was somewhat boring, LOADED in tumeric and just not our cup of tee. Drink menu was good enough. Great to find such healthy food - out. I'll go back.
The service and food were great! We have been there about six times now and it never disappoints. The butternut squash soup is a must have!! Absolutely delicious!!👍🏻
Love the food and the service is right on par.
I ordered the teriyaki quinoa bowl with chicken, but got no chicken. I was still hungry!
The food is so good here
The menu is so good here
The atmosphere is so good here
The hostess staff is so good here
The night I was there, the waitress was not so good- but in all fairness my party of three all came oat different times and probably overstayed . Our waitress asked if we wanted dessert while we were still eating and brought the coffee before we were finished our meals
THE FOOD IS SO GOOD!
If you like to eat fresh, healthy food this is the place for you. It's very different from a regular restaurant menu. The food was good, displayed nicely and very fresh. Only one complaint, the music is way too loud. I really can't enjoy my food with music blaring.
Great food, but very loud.
Great healthy food; nice vibe. A bit noisy and not cheap but very good service and food.
Food was excellent as well as the service. Had butternut squash soup which had a wonderful flavor and then the beet burger which was also very good! For those people who cant go with a meat in a meal they also have items on the menu that is meat-based. Overall, wonderful dinner and lovely atmosphere! Definitely will come back!
Food was excellent. Service was excellent. We ate outside, and no fault of the restaurant, it was thick with lantern flies. Even the waitresses were skeeved.
Normally True Food is a 5 star experience for me. I’m hoping it was just an off day. My meal had only two of the stated five vegetables it should have had, and they were not of the best quality.
We started with the butternut squash soup which had great flavor, although it was a bit thin. The chopped salad with shrimp added was delicious. This may be my favorite item on their menu. My spouse had the spaghetti squash casserole which he thought was very good & filling & he is not normally a healthy eater. The only disappointment was dessert. I ordered the key lime mousse, had two bites and put it aside. Since it was the last day for their summer menu, perhaps it was old. There was no lime flavor at all, no sweetness, even with the chopped strawberries, and the consistency was like that of a pureed cottage cheese. In a word, it was awful. While I would go back to True Food Kitchen for their salads, I doubt I would ever order another dessert there.
Service was great very enjoyable experience
Kitchen extremely slow. Always this way.
I came here about a month ago and had a good meal but terrible service. I wanted to try again and I am glad I did! We had a different server this time named Semaj and he was incredible! Polite, professional and very good at what he does! It made all the difference. Our food was great- dumplings, hummus, poke and a burger. Everything was really good. Wine was a perfect accompaniment. Love this place now!
Mixed review! Some of the food was great, but some was just not good.
The worse part was it took so long...to get the order, which is difficult when you have children with you.
The wait staff was very friendly, but do not know what was happening in the kitchen !
Waitress did not handle the person with food allergies in our party well. Service was slow. We almost got served wrong food from another table. From all the times we have been this was worst service
Terrible experience with undercooked fish tacos and effort to remedy the situation was lacking.
Quite possibly the longest wait for the most inedible food I’ve ever had in my life. The kitchen should be embarrassed for sending it out. The only good thing I can say about this place is that we had the sweetest waitress who was very communicative about why we waited an hour for our food (“kitchen is backed up”) and apologetic for the food the runner brought out. This “food” was supposed to be the Cauliflower Polenta, which was what the waitress recommended. The turkey burger and potato hash my spouse ordered was cold and tasteless. #neveragain #truefoodkitchen
Disappointed at return visit with out of town company. Service was spotty and not all food was hot.
Good menu choices for vegans, however, very difficult to get answers to specific questions or clarifications . Edamame dumplings slow to the table and not hot. Service was slow and inconsistent. Cauliflower polenta was extremely soupy. This location did not live up to the brand.
The cocktails and food were so inventive & well done. Best meal in the area I have had recently.
Service was slow and food was mediocre at best
a litter be slowly served
Outstanding fresh food. Creative changing menu. Clean comfortable location!
I’m a repeat customer. Food, service and atmosphere are excellent.
The food is unique - healthy with great taste - had a wonderful mushroom soup and an outstanding
Cauliflower polenta. Service was very professional and helpful - Management (manager) has created a welcoming atmosphere for us, the customers. I highly recommend it
Excellent food and excellent service. I will definitely be back here!
Very good food and good service
Server Andrew was excellent. Food great as always. Love the place.
My husband and I had a wonderful lunch (grain bowls) with fantastic service by Jess. We will return again soon!
The food & the service was fantastic!!! I will definitely be back! :)
Wow. I was traveling in Philadelphia when I ate here. It was awesome. I am so disappointed we don’t have near me in Massachusetts. If we did I would eat dinner there every night.
Like the decor but it is loud. I didn’t love my menu selections this time. My cauliflower bowl seemed overcooked and vegetables were soggy and the watermelon salad used to have feta cheese on top but that has been removed and it just wasn’t as good. Overall , a nice, bright environment although on the loud side.
True Food Kitchen is fine - my wife and I have been to the KOP location 3 or 4 times now. The space is a large open space with lots of windows - which is a nice look - but that big open format tends to be pretty loud when the restaurant is full - City Works suffers from the same problem.
From the starters menus we like the Charred Cauliflower and the Herb Hummus. For the main course I usually get the slightly spicy Korean Noodle bowl (which I find to be a little spicy - but they claim it's a 4 out of 10 on the spicy-ometer) and my wife usually gets some fish - the last time we went she ordered the Summer Redfish. Service was good, food was prepared well etc - but the entire experience makes me feel like I'm eating at a high end fast food restaurant vs dining out - and I should feel more dining out when the bill - with tip - for the 2 of us typically comes in at about $100.
New waiter was struggling a bit, but he did manage the orders
True Food is always my go to for a delicious and satisfying meal out. With some co-workers visiting from out of town who are vegetarian, I figured my favorite spot would be a hit! And I was right! Everyone loved the food and the seasonal offerings.
Food was delicious. Menu was extensive. Great cocktails and wine list. Atmosphere is very cool.
Unfortunately our server was terrible. Cocktails took too long to be delivered. She didn’t check on us during the meal. We had to flag down a bus person to find her to order additional drinks. Water arrived after we finished entrees- my friend had to go to the bar to get the water we asked for during appetizers. Restaurant was not busy. Disappointed to have bad service at this price point.
Great food, great service!
