True Food Kitchen - Garden City - Roosevelt Field

My family and I always look forward to having dinner at True Foods brocade we count on their high quality consistent food.
Last night was a little disappointing, I actually feel bad to write a review that is not super positive but the hopefully it can be fixed for our next visit.
Let’s start with the kids meals, my one son ordered the kids pizza and my other son ordered the adult margarita pizza because he was more hungry thinking it was going to be a little bigger then the kids size. It was exactly the same size with a little more cheese for twice the cost. Then my wife ordered the salad and added the steak. It was over cooked and highly salted, I tasted it but and it was inedible. She wasn’t going to say anything to the serve who was wonderful and remembered us for our last visit. They charged us for the salad but not for the steak. Thank you for that. I ordered the grass fed burger and it was not like the last time, bun was cold and sweet potatoes were burnt.
It made me think twice about going back.

If you are looking for healthy food options that actually taste good, this is the place. There are options for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. Great craft beverages, too.
This is a spacious spot and well lit. I will be visiting again.

The place is wonderful; open, light, inviting, and comfortable. The food is healthy and savory, though some could use a bit more spice, I think. The server was attentice and friendly, and the manager was especially generous to deal with a slight issue with my entree. He was sweet.
I DID make reservation for a birthday but no mention was made of it or any special thing at all. Hmmm

Excellent food and service

Food good and seasonal. Butternut squash soup was excellent. Unusual nonalcoholic drinks, such as sparkling orange sepcha tea.

The food was healthy and outstanding. The service was personal, responding to our needs, while allowing us to eat undisturbed. The manager was so helpful in assisting us in redeeming our Open Table rewards.

Good was delish and very filling. Love the edamame guacamole.

Everything is healthy and delicious. Many classics with a twist--wish there were other locations in New York.

Had dinner for two outside on the patio. Waitress Anna was very attentive. Enjoyed the Ancient Grains bowl w/salmon and side of pesto and the Seasonal salad, both delicious! One glass of Chardonnay and Cab, perfect:)

Ryan (Mgr) and Ahmad poured on great service all backed by an excellent culinary experience!!

First time coming, and we plan to come back more often. True Food Kitchen is a new favorite.

Food and service were great. Only complaint is that all of our items were brought out at the same time. We ordered 5 dishes. Couldn’t eat them all at one time!

Overall-Excellent. Service-Excellent. Quality and Taste of food-excellent taste. Liked the spicy corn with red peppers. One footnote-restaurant has bar with televisions. Yesterday at 5pm, CNN broadcast the “live NY Central Park Concert”. It in itself is a drawing card, yet this restaurant was broadcasting soccer and something non related. Recommend they upgrade their television screens at least one to music. Drawing card to the bar area👍

The service was excellent and the food was very good!!

All of the food that was ordered was fresh and tasted great. The service and attention from the staff made for a fantastic dining experience.

Consistently one of my most favorite restaurants. The staff is wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The food is beautifully presented and exceptionally flavorful. Have their seasonal dishes and you won't be disappointed. The burrata and peaches dish was lip-smacking delicious--and even better the next day. The sea bass and teriyaki bowl with salmon were thoroughly enjoyed. Even though we were both thinking there'd be leftovers, we were so wrong. Have recommended the restaurant to several people and can't wait to return!!

If you are looking for healthy alternatives but exquisitely cooked this is the place. It’s a modern place with healthy food yet delicious.

The service was very good but not excellent, as it took us some 15 minutes and three times speaking to the waiters to get a refill of our ice teas. Apart from that everyone was extremely attentive, helpful and kind.

Overall good but disappointed because food is never consistent. For the fourth time I ordered the quinoa teriyaki bowl and this time it was very spicy. Didn’t really enjoy it. Will not order it again. Our starters were very good. We had the edamame guacamole with pita chips and the spinach and mushroom pizza. The service was unusually slow. Never experienced that before. My daughter had the vegan burger with sweet potato hash and it was very good. Will try that next time. Will give them another chance because they do try to please and the food is good overall.

The food is consistently delicious - healthy menu, all tasting great. I love the concept and lucky for me, I live in two locations and there is a True Food Kitchen in both places.

Always a great meal with the family

Food tasty. Portions not consistent. Sometimes portions are larger than other times. Ingredients and the taste of the same dish can be different depending on when you go. Overall the food is very tasty and there are many healthy choices. We had the edamame guacamole with homemade pita chips which was very tasty but the portion was smaller than last time. The mushroom spinach vegan pizza was very good but had many more onions than last time. Different chef? The teriyaki quinoa bowl is always good but the portion this time was smaller and the taste, although delicious, was slightly different from the other two times I had this dish. Overall the food is very tasty and the menu is unlike any other place. We will be back.

The vegan offerings were excellent. The burger was an absolute treasure. My experience has been when others tried to serve vegan burgers, it amounted to black beans between bread. These burgers were flavorful and well seasoned. I appreciated the vegan cheese and sprouted bun. The tomato soup and tartare were excellent starters and the drinks and desserts were not overly sweet. Pricey, but at what price health and freedom from processed foods? I am so glad I did fall into the familiar pattern of salmon dishes. Will definitely be back.
