Went with a friend for happy hour. The restaurant was empty. Small selection of wines for happy hour but a great price. $ Off for selected food items and we enjoyed the edamame dumplings and hummus. Considered sitting outside but it was too hot. Would go back

Great experience. Hostess was odd about letting us sit outside. She said she could not push two tables together outside. Every single table is open but for the two 4-tops. Then we asked if we could take the four top that was finishing up and she was strange about that too. But then she let us sit outside. We had great service outside. Loved our waiter. Food was delicious.

Friendly, attentive staff. Good food, very flavorful. My lasagna arrived lukewarm, but tasty. Happy Hour (3-6pm weekdays) special prices are nice.

I loved dining at True Food Kitchen for a few years now, whenever I’m visiting Chicago. But this last visit was strange. The place was almost empty, at 7 pm on a Saturday night! The menu has changed and now feels like more of a quick service lunch place instead on a wonderful place for a delicious and healthy dinner. Our food was good and our server was great. But I am disappointed that I chose this restaurant for our evening meal on our weekend getaway to Chicago. I hope they bring back the creative and excellent menu/dishes they used to serve.

Yes, True Food Kitchen is all about fresh, organic, and nutritious food -- but honestly, even if it wasn't, I'd still give it 5 stars! The food and drinks were absolutely AMAZING. I had the All American Burger, and it was everything you want in a burger -- that rich, meaty texture that tells you you're eating real beef, and the True Food Kitchen sauce added just the right kick to bring it all together. My wife ordered the Mediterranean Wild-Caught Shrimp, and it not only looked incredible but actually tasted authentically Mediterranean -- a huge step above the generic farro and tzatziki you get at other places. Drinks were delicious and beautifully presented, and the ambiance inside was warm, stylish, and welcoming. This place gets everything right -- flavor, freshness, and feel. We'll definitely be coming back!
