The food was good. The service was not. After we were seated no one came to take our order. We had to go ask a hostess to send over a server. We had to ask for water several times and no one ever asked if they could refill our glasses.
Our experience at the Bethesda location was disappointing. This was our first time at the Bethesda location. We have been to the locations in Arizona and California so we were really excited to discover there was a location in our area (we live in Columbia, Md). However, the service was very slow and our server seemed to be overwhelmed. She forgot our drinks twice. When we requested water she replied yes but it might be awhile because we are incredibly busy. Not exactly the service you expect for the amount of money spent. We had appetizers, 2 rounds of drinks, entrees, and desserts. This location isn't one that I'll be visiting again based on our experience. It was quite a hike for our mediocre experience.
OUTSTANDING food and sevice! Would recommend for anyone who wants fresh new takes on healthy food!
Casual atmosphere with great food, service was exceptional, noise level was higher. Overall great experience.
OMG! If you're VEGAN or VEGETARIAN or just trying to eat healthy, True Food Kitchen is for you. I'm vegan and their food is so delicious, so fresh, and presented so well. I highly recommend to anyone who appreciates a whole foods, plant-based diet that is well seasoned and tastes amazing.
Love this place!
Outstanding! Food was fresh and extremely, well-seasoned. I will be back.
Great service and quality food.
The edamame dumplings are divine. The steak tacos are good but it’s important to note my experience on each visit has been different as I prefer my meat rare and although I always ask it isn’t always served this way. Cocktails are good and they will allow you to customize. The acoustics are poor so not a great place for good conversation. The ingredients are top rate. With some tweaks and consistency and some sound absorbent materials, I would recommend to all on any occasion.
I’m a huge fan. Recommend to friends, whether vegans or vegetarians or not. The dishes are varied, different, delicious and beautifully presented. Service can be a little erratic. The young female server was not the strongest-seemed distracted, not in any hurry. Everything worked out once we received our drinks and food.
Unusual and excellent food. Wish we could eat here more often!
delicious HEALTHY food, great vibes, awesome staff, and cute aesthetics. what more can we ask for, right?
Dinner was good. The chicken I had was dry but overall the meal was solid. They were out of a few items - including a favorite Kale guacamole
Thanks for providing holistically sourced, nutritional, plant based, GF meals for this nutritionally aware family.
I love this place!! I hadn't been in a while so it was good to return.
We had a lovely Sunday brunch outside on a beautiful summer day. The waitress was very helpful when we weren’t sure what to order and everything was delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
Food mediocre. Summer menu is awful & overpriced. Waitress very good. Early dinner, so noise level not yet horrendous. Very disappointed!
Cauliflower was great! Watermelon and heirloom tomato salad was delish and everything else I tasted was great! Brittany was also a lovely server :)
We will be back!!
Went for lunch during the week. Were in and out in about an hour. Good service and Turkey burger was very good.
We had a lovely lunch at the True Food Kitchen - our first try.
Food was very good and diverse. Portion size was also OK.
The only negative 'point' is that the noise level was very high and we (7 people) were basically not able to hold a conversation with people seated across the table.
We will be back for sure but likely as smaller group (2-4).
Ordinarily my meals here are good and the service attentive. This experience was considerably different. The service was off - needed to ask hostess for a waiter after an extended wait period; waiter brought some items requested, and not others. Ever. Guests reported their grass-fed burgers were not tasty and fries were dry. Considering this experience and aberration. Will go back, based on previous experiences.
Great although were several things we ordered you were out of or wasn’t ready.
We love your vegan options! It's great that we can dine with family & friends who are not vegan and EVERYONE has a wonderful meal and leaves happy. Love the watermelon martinis on the summer menu too!
This was my fifth or sixth time there. I always enjoy it.
Before dinner we had a drink at the small bar. Fruit infused margarita and watermelon mojito were both okay, but nothing to seek out. We had the lasagna and the redfish over succotash. Both were very good. After the main course was served, our server did not approach again for refills, for dessert menu without being flagged down.
The food and service were exceptional. It is somewhat difficult to have a conversation due to ambient noise in the restaurant.
The service during our visit the other night was not normal. It took over two hours to get through dinner. Our server seemed to forget that we existed and forgot to put in one of our orders. The food was good (a little bit cold, but not too bad). I am always a fan of the cauliflower appetizer! I will say that it is a very loud restaurant and would not be a good place if you want to chat. The bathrooms are very clean (love the European stalls), and the reservation process was easy, as usual.
Service was prompt and attentive. Ambiance was noisy, even though the restaurant wasn't full. Food was OK. Spinach & mushroom pizza was good, not special. The Good Earth Kale Cobb was good, but also, not great.
My only complaint is that when I (a Black woman alone) arrived for my reservation, the greeter (after handling the patron with whom she was preoccupied when I stepped into the restaurant) looked over me to address the White couple behind me. The gentleman politely corrected her, letting her know that I was there before them. I did not like that first impression. Otherwise, it was a fine evening, and my friend (who arrived later) and I enjoyed our evening.
always a joy to eat here...just wish it were less noisy
The food was very good.
True Food is very reliable. This time, however, food was even better and the service was terrific. Highly recommend it.
I let them know it was my friend’s birthday and they did not do anything special.
Service staff was very friendly. The food was truly delicious and served quickly. The price was very fair. Another bonus: parking was near by and was free.
The food was great and even in the heat it was lovely to sit outside!
My first impression was that it was pretty noisy. The food was very good. Interesting food offerings.
I went with two friends and it was the first visit for all of us. We had a great experience! First of all, the food was really good - it was especially important for one of our group who is gluten and dairy free. She got a noodle bowl with sweet potato noodles, her daughter got a turkey burger with sweet potato hash and I got a flatbread and chicken satay. We also got a cauliflower dish to start and then were treated to amazing desserts. I know each of us would say our dinners were delicious. Admittedly the menu is geared toward a certain style of eating but if that's what you are looking for I can't imagine anyplace better. The atmosphere was fabulous - light, cheery, upbeat and full of energy which is right up my alley. Our servers were fantastic - exceptionally friendly and attentive. Donna and John both were involved in our decisions and actually serving us. The manager came over to us two or three times to make sure we were enjoying our evening and I'd like to give him kudos as well. His name was Khari Bell. We would all three highly recommend True Food Kitchen.
Amazing service and vegan food that was terrific! Happy customer!!!
I was so disappointed in the restaurant. So loud. Service was across the board. There were so many staff member simply roaming around that were clearly in training.
The Cobb salad was a wide variance of the standard. Not sure when kale, garbanzo beans, pickled radishes, and others were standards.
Had lunch. Lovely spot. Large restaurant. Didn’t notice noise level so was obviously fine for conversation. Had two great servers, one in training. Delicious refreshing drinks (non alcoholic) and a wonderful watermelon and tomato salad. Turkey burger was juicy and tasty, but a little heavy on salt. Maybe it was the condiments on it. Not sure. But overall it was a very good meal and the venue attractive and comfortable. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
