The servers are so friendly. Great staff. Extensive healthy choices. A favorite spot!
We truly had the best time. The food was awesome and impeccable. The service staff really knew her menus and the ingredients making it easier to make choices.
Wife and I had a reservation at 7:15pm. We were seated by the hostess and our waiter never showed up. Several waiters passed by us but none took our orders or even brought us water to drink while we wait. They were not busy by any means. I always give restaurants 15 minutes and additional 5 minutes after, before I walk out of the restaurant. 20 minutes passed so my beautiful wife and I got up and left. We went to the next restaurant a few doors down and we were seated rapidly and had our drink and appetizer orders in immediately and we were served in a timely matter. Will never go back to True Foods.
Drink prices way overpriced. Don't think there was any liquor in our drinks and food over priced as well.
Server had to be asked several times to bring ice for our water which was brought to the table without ice.
Early seating. Maybe the staff wasn’t warmed up yet. Seems like they forgot about us.
No check back no talk of dessert.
Our waiter was great and the food was incredible! We ordered appetizers and regular food and I honestly think it was some of the best food we’ve ever had
Love the healthy and creative options. Good gluten free options too, including gluten free dessert. Inside is always too noisy but outdoor seating is nice. I wish they had gluten free hamburger buns and bread on hand.
The three of us really enjoyed our dinner, so glad the weather was perfect for eating outside at True Food on Sunday evening. All of the food was very good; the roasted cauliflower starter was amazing - one of the best veggie plates ever. Two of us are not vegan, tried the vegan vanilla ice cream for the first time and both of us like it enough to order it again some time.
I noted in our Open Table reservation that we were celebrating a birthday but in fact it was for both my daughter and granddaughter. We arrived 2 minutes before our reservation and we were promptly seated at one of the smallest and worst tables in the house right by the toilets with heavy traffic and little space for that traffic. There were available tables for four in the next room that were were not occupied and in fact may not have been used at all that night. The evening was saved only by the couple at a nearby four top leaving and our waitress graciously moving us to that larger and out of the traffic table. MY QUESTION IS WHY DOES MANAGEMENT TRY TO FILL THEIR WORST TABLES FIRST? WHAT KIND OF TRAINING DO THESE OFFICIAL TABLE ASSIGNERS GET? We are regular OPEN TABLE users and have generally been treated very well by the restaurants we visit. All I can say is I am determined to leave before I will be treated like this again even though it would ruin our evening!
The food is delicious!! It’s seasonal and there are so many vegan options!! Love this place. Highly recommended.
We ordered 8 entrees for 4 adults and 2 kids to get a good mix of food. Some of the items were very good, some not so much.
Service was fair at most.
Great concept but the food was not interesting or tasty.
Very nice meal for me and my vegan customer. He very much enjoyed the whole experience and will be bringing his family here too
Unique menu. Little bit on the pricier side. But, food was good. More beers would be nice.
I'm a frequent customer and introduced TFK to 4 friends that evening. The new fall menu is great. I tried the Beetburger - delicious. The only misstep was that one of our group ordered a second beer and it arrived as he was finishing his meal. I love the many options for vegans as well as carnivores.
Pizza was very good. Unfortunately they offer no choice of toppings on the menu. It's a few pre-arranged selections and that's it. The service was polite but inattentive. The waiter rarely stopped by the table to see how things were. The place wasn't busy and we got the feeling that he really didn't care and was mostly just interested in going home.
Probably the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Service was awful-no one came to our table until 15 mins in and they were not busy. Food took over 50 mins and we had to cancel it we would’ve missed our event. Left hungry and frustrated!
We went for my sister’s birthday. Service was slightly slow but everyone is so nice and helps each other out, so I did not mind. Great for vegans.
Food was delicious but it took almost an hour to be delivered to our table. Actually, my friends entree was delivered and then mine came about 40 minutes later. Server seemed genuinely apologetic but an hour to get food is ridiculous. No offer to comp the meal or anything. We have a lot of choices in restaurants around here - they need to do better.
This is the first time I've been to True Food Kitchen - Bethesda; however, not my first time at a True Food Kitchen. The food is always really good. I like the variety of foods and unique combination of ingredients. The staff was pleasant. I'd definitely recommend True Food Kitchen.
I really liked this place, my first time there. Ingredients are fresh and healthy. I appreciated the calorie info. I'll definitely be back.
Menu selections were excellent for our group. Service was fabulous. We weren’t rushed.
I usually have a fantastic experience at the Fairfax location. However, my experience at the Bethesda location left much to be desired.
We have eaten her many times. The food was bland and very disappointing.
Great place for a long, casual meal. Food is outstanding but service was slow. Will happily return, but with that understanding.
We don't make it to True Food as often as we would like, but always delicious and we've always had such good service. Perfect place to meet a friend who lives in the area.
Service terrific. Food excellent.
True Food Kitchen was recommended by the hotel staff nearly when I asked for a place with vegetarian options (to accommodate a friend). The food was good, not spectacular. While there were plenty of options, I had a more challenging time finding something on the menu that didn't contain some ingredients I'm not fond of. The server was pleasant and knowledgeable, providing information essential for my colleague. Overall, I wouldn't oppose going back, but it wasn't a favorite.
Great food and a wonderful dining experience !! Would definately recommend and will go back again.
A pleasant surprise. Food was excellent. Super fresh, healthy and so many different options. I can’t wait to go back!
I love dining at True Food but wish something could be done about the acoustics. It is very loud and hard to have a conversation.
We enjoyed our meal at True Food Kitchen very much. Can't say much for the music which was on the noisy side. But the food was delightful. Squash soup, kale guacamole, spaghetti squash casserole, and Chilean sea bass were delicious. Our server was excellent. We'll be back!
I'd recommend the food for take out. The noise and the service were awful.
Delicious food as always. Lavender iced tea? I am in love!!
If you're vegan, vegetarian, or just like to eat healthy, you must try True Food Kitchen! I've been there 5 times in the past 2 months and I live far away! All of the food is excellent, the drinks are refreshing and the service is friendly and informative. This is my new "go to" spot!
The restaurant is large and airy. There is plenty of light and space between the tables.
The food was excellent.
Service needs to improve.
We love True Foods, esp the Edamame dumplings and cauliflower risotto. This time I had the avocado toast with egg but it was really disappointing. Instead of a nice chunky artisanal type bread it was a thin soggy sweet slice of something that tasted like it came from the Safeway shelves. Doesn’t fit with their normal taste. Both the hostess and our server were awesome (as they always are) so commend True Foods for either hiring or training well (or both!)
As a native Marylander, it pains me to say that the Arlington location is far superior to the Bethesda location. We got mostly the same foods, and yet nothing was as good.
We had a business lunch but it was so loud inside that we had to move outside to be able to talk and then the hostess forgot that we were out there and seated half our table inside and half outside. I like the food and the servers are always very nice, but the volume inside is unpleasant and they need to keep track of where parties are.
