excellent service, food was terrific for this vegan/ vegetarian family!
Excellent healthy dining
Great healthy food, lame pour on the beer from a bartender leafy husband with a glass of foam and everybody acting like they didn’t notice.
Wonderful! We had a major parking problem, arriving, so we got there a little late by 4-5 min. The restaurant was extremely accommodating, got us a table as soon as one opened up. Food was excellent!
The food was 100% amazing we shared the arugula and tomato pizza it was so much better than we had expected. Then I had the teriyaki quinoa which was sooooo good and a decent portion size.
Fish tacos were cold and uneatable. Our guest returned them and ended up with a small side dish of baked beans for dinner. Sweet potato hash was also cold. The restaurant credited us for the tacos and potatoes, but the experience ruined our evening. Also, the noise was so deafening that we couldn’t have any conversation with our guest. Overall, a complete fiasco. Would not return. However, we love TFK in San Diego. A totally different experience there!
Restaurant is noisy but pleasant. Service was initially a little slow (took several minutes to be greeted after I sat down, then approached twice about drinks). Staff was lovely and food I definitely want to eat!
True Foods is one of our favorite restaurants. But we were a bit disappointed. I indicated that we were celebrating my husbands 40th birthday and requested a booth. They did not give us a booth and never acknowledge the birthday. The hostess seemed super flustered, one of our orders came out wrong, and they were out of coloring pads for our kid. The food however was delicious, except the kids pizza just seemed like cheap pizza.
Food was very good. Restaurant was quiet. Service was very good. I’ve been here many times. Consistently high quality. Not the place to go if you don’t have money. I’ll be back.
Very friendly hostess and wait staff. Good came out very fast. Absolutely delicious!
Super slow service and average quality food since last time I visited
WARNING!! UNACCEPTABLE!! My family had a reservation for four and was looking forward to a pleasant Saturday dinner together. BUT THEY ARE CRAMMING TABLES WITH PLASTIC CHAIRS AT THE FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT NEXT TO THE BAR AND TELLING PEOPLE WITH A STRAIGHT FACE THAT IS IS “REGULAR” SEATING!! ITS A CROWDED CAFETERIA. Very unpleasant. Also seems like they prefer to seat families with kids up there. My son had to keep his coat on during dinner because every time the door opened we got a cold blast. UNBELIEVABLY ARROGANT AND OBNOXIOUS.
Good locally sourced and organic offerings. Acoustics are terrible though and you should consider if you dine with a group. The cocktail list is unique and tasty but a bit pricey too.
Manager was awesome!
We made reservations for a party of 6 at 12:00 pm. Walked in- seated right away. Server was great and very knowledgeable, and timely (we had 1 hour for lunch). Food was excellent! Better than I thought it would be. I would recommend and will be returning. Thank you!
Amazing food, amazing service, wonderful atmosphere
Excellent food and service. Wish you could do something to reduce noise level.
Fun to introduce a friend to True Food and all the options on the menu. We appreciated the staff allowing us to sit and work on a project once we finished our late lunch - we didn't feel at all rushed which was very nice. Thanks so much!
I’ve been here many times. The food is delicious!! Lots of scrumptious vegan and vegetarian options. Service has become slow and unreliable the last 2 times. Waters are very friendly. I would still go back for the fresh food, but they do need to improve service time.
Had a great Sunday brunch with 7 adults and 2 toddlers. Service was above and beyond. Food was terrific except for beetburger, which was the clunker of the menu. Will definitely return!
Restaurant was beautiful, food was DELICIOUS, service was fabulous- food comes quickly, waitress answered all of our questions and was very friendly.
The Bethesda location is much more accessible than the Merrifield location because it is on a major street (Wisconsin Ave). I went during lunch and the noise level was much less than at dinner. I enjoy this restaurant because of the vegetarian and vegan options and I know I'm eating healthy. The service was competent and the meals were brought to our table quickly. The only suggestion about the food I have is add more seasoning.
New server. Should not have been left on his own. The manager, as always, checked in and was attentive and helpful.
Food is good quality farm to table food. Waiter didn't know answers to some questions, but was happy to find out. I would go back again, probably only for lunch though.
So glad this place opened in Bethesda it is one of our Go-To spots. Always consistent food with great service. The one thing I will say is that is always cold , I always need a coat or something.
Lovely restaurant. Food was exceptional! Especially the squash soup and kale guacamole! I also love their mocktails and wine. Our waitress was so nice too! Very accommodating to our needs. Restaurant is also kid-friendly.
Doctor Weil's calm approach to health is certainly not reflected in the noise level of this restaurant-- at least the Bethesda location. When we came in we asked for the music to be turned down, and even though we went ona day when there were only a few customers, we had to speak with our voices raised. Most clients seemed to be women who were there to catch up with a friend or family member. The non-alcoholic drinks we had were outstanding and original. The food (chicken-avo wrap; beef tacos) were OK. The service was OK. but not very attentive. The numerous hostesses (4?) were kind of clueless why we would want the music turned down. The bill was overpriced. This is my third and LAST time in this location.
Meals at True Food Kitchen never disappoint. The cheerful greeting at the door sets the tone. Service is gracious, the food is always perfectly prepared and the big plate glass windows let in tons of light even on a cloudy day.
True Food does a great job with specializing dishes for those people with food allergies or sensitivities.
Good healthy food
I waited more than 10 minutes and then finally asked a passing server if they could get me a glass of wine. I ordered the fish tacos and they had absolutely no flavor. Really disappointing. The restaurant was not very crowded but it was still quite noisy.
Always a solid choice. Met a friend for dinner and to catch up. Our meals -the Cobb salad and ancient grain bowl with the cauliflower to start- were delicious.
would I recommend True Food to a friend? that is a good question. I recommend the food which is healthy and creatively very tasty. the service was slow and non attentive with a drabness. the menu is pricy.
So if you like tasty healthy expensive food without the bother of service personnel being around, this is the place for you.
Food and service is very good but the noise level is quite high with echo so it is difficult to hear
Love True Food and the Bethesda location. They took care of gluten free food for my celiac disease. And the restaurant didn’t penalize me for having celiac by charging me for flute. Free pita bread where they did in the king of Prussia location. This is one of my favorite restaurants! Delicious hummus, spaghetti squash and my husband loves his pizza !
interesting menu and good value. But the restaurant is noisy even on a Wednesday night.
True Food has become my favorite restaurant. Having just eaten at the one in Santa Monica, CA, I can say our local in Bethesda is superior. Delicious and consistent food. Healthy as well. Highly recommend !
Nice friendly place
My only complaint is that the restaurant is too noisy. I have to scream in order for my dinner companion to hear me. I avoid this restaurant sometimes because of how noisy it is. Otherwise I love the food. One of my favorites.
