I just keep coming back, I really enjoy myself each time! My only comment- the speciality non alcoholic drinks always take so long to come out. By the time it gets there I always forgot that I ordered one.

For a tasty and healthful meal that won't break your wallet, dine at True Food Kitchen. I had the quinoa salad, and it was very good indeed. My companion had the Korean Bowl and ate every bit. The service was just as good as the food. When the wine I ordered (by the glass) was not available, the server brought me a generous sip of the alternative she recommended. I will certainly be back! It's great to know there's a local place with food this good at reasonable prices. Three cheers!

Absolutely wonderful! We couldn't have been more pleased with our appetizers, bowl, salad, and sandwich plus the delicious summer drinks. Reasonably priced and definitely healthy. Will definitely return on a regular basis.

First let me say that I am overall a big fan of the True Foods concept and execution. I have been to three of the local locations many times, have also ordered takeout and the only fault I've found in the past is the noise level.

In the Washington, DC area, True Foods has recently expanded from dinner service only, to adding a weekend brunch, and now is open for both lunch/dinner daily. I suspect some of what happened on our visit was due to growing pains.

When we arrived, we asked that our party be sat outside rather than in as our reservation reflected. The staff was accommodating, although we began our evening being waited on at the outside bar (she was awesome). One of our party members ordered a drink right as our group transitioned to sitting down to eat, and it took for asks and almost 40 minutes for the drink to arrive. There appeared to be confusion between who was doing what in the transition. Salads requested with dressing on the side arrived fully dressed, then with no dressing at all. That same person didn't receive her mail course (the salad) until everyone else had finished their dinner. Worst offense was my beloved flatbread was bland, the kale salad, which is normally garlicky, had no flavor and my turkey burger was overcooked.

I'm not sure if the problem was with the wait staff or the kitchen--I suspect the latter, but I'm disappointed. I had an out of town guest I was hoping to show off the restaurant to and instead will wait a bit before returning to see if some kinks are worked out.

The service and ambience were excellent. The menu has good variety. I wish the hummus weren’t served with white bread, however. Also, I would like to see a feature about what foods are seasonal and local.

I had been here once before and the service was fine. I love the cocktails and the healthier menu. I went on Sunday night and the service was awful. Our server was really slow to greet us, bring drinks, take our order, and check back/ process payment. She missed two of the drink orders and just generally seemed to not really know what she was doing. She was very nice, but it still made for a really unenjoyable dining experience for our small group with a few young kids.

I have visited other True Kitchens and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and food. I was a little put off by the waitress who was not clear on the menu.

This was a birthday dinner and my friend asked for a straw. He had to retrieve one.

After being seated, we were waiting for service at the table for almost 20 minutes. Nobody offered us a drink or take our orders. However we noticed that people that arrived after us got service. After the long wait, we decided to leave. It was very disappointing and annoying at the same time specially because True Food at other branches has very good service.

True Food Kitchen was fantastic! We were celebrating my best friends’ recent engagement, and she loved the entire menu. We had a tough time deciding, because everything on the menu sounded great. We had the edamame dumplings, which I highly recommend. We then tried some of the grain bowls, also delicious. Everything was fresh and bright. We’ll definitely be back!

True Food Kitchen is great because there is an option for everyone (I'm a vegan, my friends are not), and it's health focused which is always awesome. It's certainly pricey, but not crazy compared to what's normal for the area. The service wasn't super fast, but the staff was very very friendly and helpful.

We weren’t disappointed with our experience at True Food, we just weren’t blown away. The food and drinks were good and they have a very creative menu. However, it was too noisy for a date atmosphere. I’m not sure if we’ll be back.

The drinks and cocktails are good, although expensive for Ballston. Charred cauliflower appetizer was pretty good, but the flatbread was ok. My friend and husband found the beef burger pretty dry and without any dressing - we had to request extra sauce. My bowl was good, but $18 is a lot for a bowl. I might as well go to Cava across the street for half the price. We'll come back for the drinks but not the food.

We have eaten at True Food at Mosaic and have really enjoyed the food there. This meal at the Ballston location was a disappointment. The fish in the fish tacos was very bland, only being saved by the items added. A bowl of beans came with the tacos. They were tasteless and were left uneaten. We will probably return to the Mosaic location, eventhough it is much further away.

The food was very good and innovative. We selected True Food Kitchen as my friend and I are trying to eat healthier and this looked like a good menu. I wish they had more lower calorie options as my brunch - with a Korean noddle bowl with added Salmon was 810 calories, and that seemed pretty typical.

I did hesitate to give the place 4 stars as the service took forever. We had reservations for 1 pm and the restaurant was crowded (although slowly emptied through the next hour) We were seated immediately and our waitress took our drink order. We were busy chatting and not ready to give our full order. When she came back probably 30 min later to take our order, she noticed our drinks never arrived and went to get them. Same with our food - it took over an hour for our meals to arrive. And as I mentioned, the restaurant wasn’t even that busy at this time. The waitress was prompt at filling our waters and getting the check, but everything else was very slow.

Stevie, out waitress, was spectacular. So friendly, spot-on recommendations, anticipated our needs, very professional while engaging. She 'read the table' perfectly. Stevie truly raised the bar on our service expectations!
Thank you for a wonderful meal, and terrific service!

CON: The noise level was not "energetic". It was distracting, very very loud.
Also, very cold! We're dressed for the heat wave, not for winter. We shouldn't need a sweater to dine indoors.

Service was very slow - almost an hour to receive food, which was luke warm. To their credit, they discounted the meal. This was our second visit. The first was better. The food can be quite good, and it's good to see a restaurant offering more healthy fare and plenty of vegetarian options.

Very good food and great service. The inside out quinoa burger is reallyyyy good even though I’m a big meat eater but I choose to get that at TFK. Had the edamame dumplings which were DELICIOUS! Can’t wait to go back to try more things!

We went to the newly opened True Food Kitchen in Arlington, Va for brunch. Looking at the menu, it appeared to have lots of clean meals but with high calorie intake. Maybe the use of oils and butter?

I felt the portions were small for the cost of the meal. I had a garden scramble that looked and tasted amazing, but I wasn’t thrilled because it cost so much. Much better value for same type of meal at Ted Bulletins next door.

Our server was adequate. She wasn’t enthusiastic about our first visit and always pointed to the higher priced items on the menu as opposed to telling us what she thought. Overpriced and little taste was my overall impression.
Probably will not return with my family.

Tasty food but overall disappointing. Entrees arrived before appetizers. Manager blamed being busy and apologized but place was on downswing when we arrived. Offer to comp appetizers but we didn’t want them once entrees arrived and half eaten by time manager arrived. Service continued poor and distracted even when place quieted down. Decided to order dessert and cappuccino and tea. Neither server nor manager offered to comp either - we didn’t ask but manager missed opportunity to correct prior big fail on appetizers. Coffee and tea took forever and came separately. Coffee had cooled by time arrived. Manager and server blew it in my view. We will give place one more chance as food was tasty and fresh.
