We had the Sunday evening pre fixe menu and it was wonderful. It was fairly quiet, with only a few customers, when we were seated which caused a little concern but the service was excellent and the food was even better. Also had a flight of the cabernet wines that was excellent.

For the price, not good. Food was just okay. Bread not warm.

Two fish entrees over cooked. Watery drinks with no ice.

Amazing wine list - but do bear in mind that this is fine dining in the main dining room.

This was the first time we’d been to the new location - but other than location, it’s the same great service, food and wine! We liked the new layout and that our waiter had come over from the old location 😊

Excellent Lunch menu with a good number of both tasty and healthy options. Great decor, good service. A rarified treat was to eat in a rather noise free restaurant and the privilege to be able to hold a conversation without having to shout.

Have been going to Troquet for 15 years or so, always has been good but the food now is the best that it has ever been. Definitely some of the best food in town these days and the wine options are always superb.

My wife and I had a wonderful night. The octopus salad and duck were amazing. I loved our seat, the music was nice and cool but also low so we could speak. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We had a fantastic night. We would absolutely go back with friends and/or family

Came her for a special occasion and it was well worth it. Great service from the host to the waitstaff. Great, fantastic, fresh food from the creative Chef. I can honestly say that I will be back for regular dining experiences.

Service was outstanding.The butter that they served with the bread was out off this world delicious.They get it from Normandy and serve it out of a tub.
Food was great.Phenomenal wine options.The wine pour felt stingy.In this day and age they should carry more diet friendly options.Other than the blast off air from the overhead vent, the overall experience was great and I would go back.By the way if you look around especially after 8pm you will find free parking!

The food here is always good.
The manager there Jake, who called me. I understand I was late. I changed the reservation from 7:30 to 8:30 but didn't arrive until 8:55pm due to work issues!
Jake called me and he asked me am I still coming. I said yes. He got what he wanted and then hung up the phone on me. I felt this is very rude because I wasn't finished.
It was my fault for being late but we finished the meal at 9:50pm! they close at 10:00pm!
so I am not happy!

Came here for an 11:30 am lunch with my Dad. The were literally no one else in the restaurant so we had excellent service. A few more parties came in after us. I had the soup and half sandwich special at $15. The French onion soup was overly sweet, and the chicken buffalo wrap had no discernible buffalo sauce and not a lot of chicken. My dads fries with is rouge. Tasted good but were oily and limp. It impressed at all. That said the decor is very attractive and the service was excellent - shame the food doesn't match.

We had three appetizers: grilled octopus & pork fritter, which was excellent! The other two were very disappointing, however: mushroom/truffle risotto, which was ok, but had a tiny number of tiny mushroom pieces and barely discernable truffle flavor; and, lobster linguine, which was almost tasteless. Portions were small, presentation was attractive. Service was excellent.

This is effectively the 3rd incarnation of Troquet to which we've been exposed, and it never fails to please. The wine list is incredible, and, to my taste, they serve the best example of French cuisine in the Boston area. This latest time we had the 5-course tasting menu, and, wow, was it good. Sea Bass and Lobster, Scallops with sea urchin vinaigrette, wild mushroom risotto, guinea hen, and rack of lamb. And, since we still wanted something sweet at the end, we added in a dessert of caramel mousse. Each course with a different bottle of wine to accompany. They do know their wine and food. We'll be back, and soon!

I was very impressed with the knowledge of our server from start to finish. The food was well presented and very tasty.

Really stingy wine pours, comfortable atmosphere, overdone salmon, pleasant waiter and responsive. Loud corporate function going on at the bar so difficult to carry on a dinner conversation.

Always a fabulous dinner for just 2 people or a large group. They are always so nice and all to accommodate any personal needs. Wine list is beyond anything you can imagine. Private dining room as well.

We love this place

We came the celebrate my birthday, and to use Open Table points that we had cashed in. We had always wanted to try Troquet at the old location but it never happened. I think they've been at the new location about a year, but maybe people don't know, or the word hadn't gotten out, or people just don't come to that little hole in the wall (technically Leather District, between Chinatown and South Station?) because it was surprisingly not full. I can't say enough good things about them though! I think this is our new favorite in town. The food was EXCELLENT, very fresh and the flavors blended well. We elected to just have multiple appetizers since there were many seafood options that way. The service was outstanding, special shout out to Ksenia, she was excellent! I'd say she was definitely now tied (with two others) for best server in Boston! The ambiance was great, it was quiet enough we could actually hear each other, and the space was comfortable, not cramped like many Boston restaurants. Ksenia was smart and told us to come back for the next birthday in a month, and then for hers in June, and we think we will!

Went hear for Valentines Day and it did not disappoint. All of the food was outstanding, but the butternut squash bisque appetizer really stood out from the rest on how good it was. The place had great hearty portions. None of this small portion dishes that you see at some other "fancy" restaurants. Service could have been better, as our waiter was a little awkward and not very prompt, but it didn't deter too much from the overall experience.

Overall was a great time and a great date night. Would absolutely recommend.

Favorite restaurant still shines in a new(ish) location. Outstanding kitchen and gracious front end, and, as always, an extensive winelist and the best anywhere selection of wines by the glass.

My first time to this restaurant, following up on all its great reviews. Service was excellent -- friendly and prompt throughout. As we only went for a casual workday lunch, I can't comment on happy hour, dinner, etc. Food was excellent and nicely presented. Would definitely go here again and again.

Troquet is my favorite Boston restaurant. Seating is comfortable and spacious, staff attentive and polished. I am an open minded gastronome, and the menu at Troquet covers the food groups very well. The wine list is exceptional in strength and price. A must try for foodies and oenophiles.

My husband has a wonderful experience . We did the 7 course tasting with wine pairings and cheese and everything was exceptional. Portions were perfect and we didn't leave feeling overly stuffed. Timing of each course was well executed. Flawless service as well.

Seems underrated.Quiet and not busy- but with a fresh menu (more exciting than standard lunch fare in the many nearby restaurants), presented beautifully.

It is our new go to place since it is across the street from work.

Ducked in on a cold snowy Boston night, and it was just the thing. We did the tasting menu, which took us through a real Tour de Force of what the kitchen had to offer. Everything was delicious, and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Also, their wine list is insane. It was a little quiet, but I think that was mainly due to the snow and I believe a Pats playoff game being on. Would definitely come again.

Good food. Prompt and attentive service. Really nice to be offered a small taste of the champagnes we were deciding between before finally choosing. Slightly over priced compared to similar Boston restaurants.

Stopped by last Saturday night to celebrate my wife's birthday at Troquet... it was the perfect choice. We thoroughly enjoyed the night... top notch food and wine, excellent attentive service in a relaxing atmosphere.

Being in a celebratory mood we started Dom Perignon 2014 offered by the glass. First time I've tried this vintage... fantastic!

Our menu choices were all excellent...
- Roasted & Confit Beet Salad with pumpkin seeds, guanciale vinaigrette
- Butternut Squash Bisque with chicken confit, creme fraiche
- Ricotta Cavatelli with wild mushrooms, parmesan, and truffle oil
- Pasta Special... w/lobster, egg and black truffle
- Green Circle Chicken w/ speck ham, chestnuts
- Roasted Scallops w/black truffle vinaigrette
- Lemon & Blueberry Cheesecake w/coconut sorbet
- Classic Tarte Tatin w/walnut streusel

We loved everything. The Tarte Tartin was good, however it was more like an apple cake... not a classic tarte tartin. My server, Audrey, did mention that when I asked about it, so just clarifying the menu... perhaps they've updated the menu.

Service (Audrey M) and timing of the kitchen was great. We stayed with wine by the glass but the list has some great choices. Savvy wine lovers know this is the place to be.

With all the snow was nice to be able to utilize the valet parking... $18. They did a nice job.

Next, I think I'll stop by to try their bar menu and try one of the rare craft beers I saw on the menu. They have beers you can't find at many places. No surprise given the way the owner approaches the wine list.

Outstanding appetizers and starters, excellent selection of entrees with appropriate wine selections, but the wine list is awesome. We chose a 1999 Ribeira del Duero, not as good as 1997, 2001, or 2007, but still a wonderful wine. And the sommelier decanted the wine, and served it in Riedel glassware, even the decanter was Riedel. Only recommendations: jazz or classical music instead of pop crap, and it is incomprehensible how a wine bar has no cheese selection. I know this is America, but, please, the absence of a selection of cheeses with this wine list makes absolutely no sense to anyone with a palette or to a European.

Went 12/26 with my husband and 13 year old son (who has a peanut and tree-nut allergy) to celebrate belated bday. Because we were there on the early side and it was just after Xmas, it was very quiet and empty. I thought it might feel awkward but actually was very peaceful and relaxing. Food was amazing- especially my tuna appetizer, roasted scallops entree, warm chocolate cake and drinks. Service was fabulous. And they were very good about my son’s nut allergy. That was the 4th time we have been to Troquet and we will certainly return.

The food is really flavorful, and it’s not something you could cook better at home. The entree portion was generous, while appetizer and dessert portions were small, so there really was room for dessert. The wine pairings are helpful and complementary to the dishes. The result is excellence from beginning to end.

One of our favorite restaurants. Great food in the wine list is outstanding. The service is always terrific and it is a real treat to be able to go there. Highly recommended.

If you live out of town it is not as easy to get to as some Boston restaurants. We found the atmosphere rather sterile, certainly not warm and welcoming. The food was very good but at the prices charged it should have been, and maybe even better. The food quality and ambiance for the same money or less at Mistral or Deuxave, with fabulous serving teams, is far better. The wine list is extensive but we didn't relate to any of the wines by the glass and therefore the creative 2oz and 4 oz pours didn't entice. With a bit of work, a memorable bottle may be found, but you will pay handsomely and some vintages are a crap shoot.

Great food comes with expensive prices. Great service from Olga. Was surprised the restaurant was not full at all. Think the ambiance and the pricy menu doesn’t make it attractive with so many choices in town. Dessert was chocolate flan! Price winner desert but understood the pastry chef is leaving soon. Wine list is super and once again if you would like to go for great food choices this is the place to be.

We were Troquet regulars at the old location just off the common and we worried that the character of the place would not survive the move. The new location, though, is great. A much nicer bar and additional new table formats (new high tops between the bar and the main dining area are completely new, and look nice.) The food remains delicious (the distinctive butter is carried over from the old location unscathed) and the wine list is spectacular, with both top notch selection by the glass (with optional tasting 'flights' of multiple 2 oz pours) and by the bottle. My wife and I were there on a date and had a great meal and a great. We will be back.

It was a wonderful experience. The food was fabulous. The service was great. Our table was comfortable and quiet. Could not be better.
