Amazing meal. Four gras, the lobster toast, duck and veal were incredible. Vast wine list and our server was knowledgeable and very attentive. Highly recommend
The food was creative and delicious. Our server, Rick, took excellent care of our table with food and drink recommendations and top notch service. Our party had the halibut, chicken and NY Strip and everyone ate every last bite (with the exception of the chicken foot which was an excellent source of entertainment).
Great food and even better service. Love the beer list.
My first visit was amazing: outstanding service, excellent food, just perfection. My second visit, I had the WEIRDEST, worst waiter of my life. Barely spoke to us, my husband and I ordered the same item but the waiter still got it wrong. He was so rude! Craziness.
Wonderful server and delicious food!
The mushroom risotto was phenomenal for our starter, but our entrees were disappointing. The duck was not cooked well and was impossible to cut into with a steak knife, so we didn’t get to eat much. The sea bass was so salty I couldn’t eat it. We both felt sick after eating there. It was very unfortunate since we had high hopes.
Look no further for an outstanding dining experience. Yes, the wine selection is excellent - but the food and the service go to match! I've been at Troquet several times, this last Saturday to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make our celebration wonderful, from the pre-dinner champagne to the petit fours. Along the way we enjoyed a delectable octopus appetizer and carefully balanced poached halibut and striped bass entrees. The waiter helped us choose a white burgundy for the occasion. Bravo!
Lobster toast, foi gras, fesh oysters and spaghetti Bolognese for two were all meticulously prepared and delicious. Service was excellent too. Dismayed to see a lull in patrons on a Friday evening...only about 20% occupied.
We had the Sea Bass and the Halibut - both were great. Flavor, texture were wonderful.
Consistently excellent food and wine. The staff at Troquet display old world excellence and attention to detail. My wife and I have dined at many of the “high end” Boston dining establishments, and none of them deliver excellent service, food and proper dining the way Troquet does. This is all about proper dining.
Certainly an amazing wine list. The food is affected adversely by being too busy where the main ingredient disappears because too much is happening on the plate. For example, the foie gras doesn’t need a sauce on top if it is high quality. I think there was some sort of a petit toast under it that also got soggy because of the sauce and the crunchy texture was missing.
Food was good, but not hot and took awhile to come out. Drinks were very good.
Food, wine and cocktails all delicious and perfectly presented!!!
Excellent all around; the care that went into the beautifully presented meals was evident
Restrauant lighting so low you could barely read the menu. It took a very long time for the food to come which is challenging for a business lunch. Lastly, one of the partons from an adjoining table stood up to take a call and was speaking very loudly in the middle of the restrauant while the servers passed by. Someone working there should have asked her to be seated at her table or take the 10 minute call outside. Troque next door is far better for lunch especially a business lunch
‘‘This is a place for wine and if you want a good meal and glasses of wine, they’re not interested in you and service shows. I had to ask for different appropriate glasses for our great Cabernet and Chardonnay .
Thank you very much for your feedback, and I apologize for your inconvenience. When guests order wines by the glass, we automatically use our smaller glassware, as most guests prefer enjoying their 2 oz or 4 oz in a smaller glass. Of course, we bring larger glassware upon any guest request, which is what we did for your visit. If there was any other issues, I would be glad to know them, so we can continue to improve in our hospitality. Thank you again.
World class food in a great location. The wine list is the best in Boston, both in fairness of pricing and having an extensive selection. This is a must visit for food and wine aficionados. Troquest is old school in the best way. At Troquet, dinner is the evening event.
Pretty mediocre experience that did not meet my expectations. Wait service didn't have a good handle on the meals or the wine. When we asked about that night's chef tasting menu, we got nothing. "Whatever the chef wants" - I get that is what is a chef's tasting means...but I expected some guidance on what that might entail that specific night. When asked about wine pairing with the chef tasting we got the same limited info. When we decided to order from the menu we looked for assistance picking a good bottle to pair with our choices. The waiter's only guidance was "this one is nice" which was a very young Bordeaux. I would be hard pressed to return.
Exceptional meal, great service, very nice atmosphere.
This is a fantastic restaurant. Gorgeous interior, very elegant overall. Tables are spaced far enough so you have privacy. Service was flawless, I highly, highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
The service is great and the food is delicious, we definitively recommend this place to anyone.
Extraordinary wine list.
Had lunch at Troquet - surprised there were not more diners there - food is great. Definitely recommend for lunch.
Great food. Amazing wine list.
Very loud , luckly we got a table in the back where ir was quiet. menu ws limited prices were high food was fair, not horrible but not great...dont think we will return.
Our bartender Eric was fantastic I've to say best bartender I've met from all Boston restaurants I've been to. He's very professional knowledgeable and super friendly. Thanks Eric !
We went before a play to grab a filling dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Service was excellent, our waitress anticipated our needs and fulfilled our requests, and the food was amazing. We had a cheese plate that was amazing. The cheese is served in a cart! We had duck, steak and Bologna’s was well for a dinner of three, and it was delicious. We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, although it is a better restaurant for a fancier dinner.
The best restaurant in Boston for me so far. Food is excellent, service is amazing. Strongly recommended.
Family gathering - first communion
We had been to troquet many times in its old location..first time here. Very different feel. Does not have the same “special night” kind of atmosphere. Bar was fun and packed while the restaurant was pretty slow. I remember the food being outstanding but this was just ok. Had the beef borgonione and it was super rich. I could only eat half and would not order it again. My wife had the bass and enjoyed it. I do have to say that The scallop appetizer was perfect.
Amazing wine list!
Simply the best restaurant in Boston. Excellent staff, friendly service. One of my guests caught a little fly in her glass (mind you, a $180 bottle), and without hesitation the sommelier opened another bottle for her! Talking about customer service... Food is exquisite, fine French kitchen, hard to come by this quality of cooking ANYWHERE in the US
Everything was wonderful for our anniversary dinner. My wife had the Boulliabase and I had bolognese (enough for take home lunch the next day). Nicely presented and delicious. Oysters for appetizers. two kinds, very fresh, 3 sauces. Wait person was great. Attentive, chummy. tables spread out enough for privacy and even though there don't seem to be sound absorbing materials, we could have a normal conversation without straining our voices. Can't think of anything to fault.
The price of the dishes was not justified. The wine was served I chilled enough and the service was very impersonal. Overall not a great experience. We can do better at that price range. We will not return.
A terrific evening from start to finish-
The wine list was outstanding, apps very fine, & entrees delicious.
We had an awesome dining experience at Troquet. Our food was amazing- it was great quality and each element of the dishes were paired perfectly with what the main dish cans accompanied with. The service was also impeccable. Our waiter was on it - he was nice, socialable with us, and gave great recommendations. I will definitely go back and recommend Troquet to my family and friends!!
We wanted to eat small plates and I ordered 3 (I was told it was very small) caviar appetizers. They arrived to me in three different plates. They were good, as well as the tiny portion of fois gras. But we were charged 148 dollars for 4 glasses of champagne (2 each), more then a whole bottle.
Excellent food and service. We like the change in location from its prior Boylston location. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we visit the theater district.
We celebrated our son's birthday. It was the most memorable experience for all of us! Duck breast phenomenal; tagliatelle outstanding; Beef Bourguion superb! These were only exceeded by the most luscious desserts. We tried three; all made by the same chef. Worth every penny. We will definatly go back for another special celebration. Valet parking helped quite a bit. But stick to the back roads as GPS struggles with the directions.
Another excellent dinner as always. Service is so attentive and accommodating. The NY strip was tasty and tender. I had extra to take home.
The new chef has transformed the menu and there are so many options, so hard to choose.
Will go back for special occasions or to sit at the bar and have a light bite.
Matt, the bartender is a magician with drinks.
