Another excellent dinner as always. Service is so attentive and accommodating. The NY strip was tasty and tender. I had extra to take home.
The new chef has transformed the menu and there are so many options, so hard to choose.
Will go back for special occasions or to sit at the bar and have a light bite.
Matt, the bartender is a magician with drinks.
Incredible service and the food was amazing, black Cod and the Potato Leek soup were out of this world!!
Great food and amazing service! The shrimp salad was one of the best that I have ever had. Also, they were so sweet to provide the dessert on the house for my husband's birthday. Can't wait to go back for dinner!
Grand start to finish
Crisp well mixed drinks. over troubled waters wonderful
Quiet table as we asked
Friendly polite knowledgeable wait staff.good recommend for wine
All 4 meals— stand outs! Each was. Truly delicious
Complimented the chef through the wait staff
Excellent food and our waiter Mike was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.
We had an amazing dinner! The French food was delicious! We had a variety of appetizers and mains and split them among the 4 of us so we could have a taste of all! The sauces were outstanding as well as the wait staff. It was upscale French food without the stuffy service - just our style! If you’re a foodie you need to go here. They are right in the heart of the leather district. A short walk from the theater district, if you, like us, caught a show after dinner. We were so comfortable, we came back to a Troquet after the show for some great bourbon & whiskey drinks!
Meal was very good. Staff was excellent.
My husband and I eat out a lot and find many of the meals we eat unmemorable. The food and wine at Troquet are the exception to the rule. We had a stellar dinner there last Saturday night. The food was terrific -- we had the crudo and oysters to start, then the black bass and cod, and finished with the chocolate soufflé. Each course was flavorful, interesting and beautifully plated, not at all heavy or over the top. The restaurant is known for its wines, and we paired each course with a 2 oz glass of wine -- really appreciated the small size option, as well as the quality of the wines. The service was impeccable. This restaurant is a true gem.
Wow,one of the better meals we had for a long time.We had 4 different appetizers and 4 different main courses and each dish was very good.Great service and atmosphere to boot.Awesome place!!!
All good, but way overpriced.
Great food, decent service! Nice dim ambiance. Waiter was a bit nervous but very professional.
My new favorite restaurant in Boston! Very nice dinner and wine experience. Simply one table next to us with a bigger group was awfully noisy.
funky fushion food and great service! always excellent!
Fantastic meal! Great wine list, waitstaff was very good!
(duck was amazing!)
New chefs food was a new addition to the menu and very good.
Platings a bit odd not bad just interesting.
Great spot and great staff!!!
Our meal was outstanding along with the service and setting. Chris, the owner, was gracious enough to spend some time at our table and go over the excellent wine list. He perfectly paired a couple of bottles with our meals. I would highly recommend the scallops and the black sea bass. One of the best meals that I have had in a long time. We will certainly be back again soon.
I had a very nice lunch late lunch here. We had the place practically to ourselves. The service was attentive and the game hen was possibly the tenderest, juiciest I've ever had-- and we eat out a lot!
Disappointed in chicken pot pie - basically a bowl of gravy covered in mashed potatoes- but french onion soup was good. Service was fine
We went on a snowy night so the place was not crowded - Awesome food, great wine & drink list and fabulous service. Every plate was "esten clean" - can't wait for a return trip.
Food was superb and the service was very detailed and friendly. Both the chef and our server were accommodating and genuine. The expectations were definitely met and surpassed. We were both in complete bliss. Thank you so much for making this special occasion one to remember.
I made reservations for my wife's birthday this Saturday, and let them know. Despite a modest crowd at 7.30, we were seated at a table set for 4. Not having the table set specifically for us is one of the small details that separates good restaurants from great ones, and they missed the mark. This sort of explains the entire evening. All the motions were correct, but without any of the special touches that propels a place beyond average. Our server did not even seem aware that we were celebrating a birthday. The owner walked by our table many times (even replacing a wine at one point), but never engaged on a personal level despite the fact that we told our server that this was our first visit to their new location after many visits to the old one, and that eventually we were one of only two tables left. There was a brand new chef that night and the server couldn't even tell us how the steak was prepared, nor did she offer to find out.
All in all a pretty delicious meal but an underwhelming experience, if that makes sense.
Excellent appetizers and mains. Dessert doesn’t quite match up the fabulous wine and main course.
Soufflés should be fluffier. I have had better Apple Tartines at Tatte and a few other bakeries and restaurants.
They over-promissed and under-deliveref. It was our 30th anniversary, and I asked to have a dozen white roses delivered to the restaurant for presentation to my wife, but what they got was not worthwhile. Midnight came and passed, but we got no champagne as promised.
After 6 years, I've decided to celebrate the NY Eve in Troquet again. So, first of all, it moved since, and many other changes had happened as well. Frankly, I liked the old location a lot, it was cozy and intimate and close to heart because of the good old memories, but I hope to get used to the new location also. Even though, the place is much more spacious now, it doesn't have the old charm and warm feel to it, but this is my very biased opinion. So, we had a reservations on Dec 31 at 9.30 pm and here goes our experience - the valley services are barely there: 2 stooges went to open the door for my BF, none came over to let me out. None of them had an umbrella either and it was raining outside. Inside the restaurant everything was quiet and decent, but a bit sad, due to the bar area being almost empty and the dining area so quiet with just a few guests that it felt like everybody, but us, went to bed early. We felt a bit awkward at first, but our waitress showed up right away and advised us about the drinks and the menu. There was a tasting menu that night and we had hiramasa (yellow tail) to start, which was delicious, in a citrusy sauce, with a little kick to it. Then I've got duck 3 way for an appetizer - foie gras was, simply put, outstanding and the rest was quiet delicious also. My BF got a rib eye for an appetizer and I stole about a third of it from his plate! For a main course he got lamb, which was awesome - tender and flavorful and I've got scallops with a vegetable mix on top of them and the dish was one of the tastiest I've ever had. The warm chocolate cake was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside, just the way it should be. We've also got a cheesecake to go and it was extraordinary - tender, not overly sweet and with blueberries baked into it. The entire meal was phenomenal! Many thanks to the chef! We'll be back, despite the stooges in the front.
We went for New Years and the appetizers were fine but my main meal was pasta with lobster. I probably found two morsels of lobster. The dessert which was creme Brulet was watery. The price for two was over 300 and not good. The restaurant is an old Italian restaurant that was taken over by Troquest AND NOT MUCH DONE TO THE INTERIOR. VERY DISSAPPOINTED.
We’ve been coming to Troquet, probably since it’s brief stint in Allston. The go to dish is this mushroom cavetelli, accompanied by great bread and churned butter. For New Years we went with the 7 course tasting which I was great. Seared tuna in cistrusy, garlicky broth with tomato confit laced with toasted cumin was a great start. After a nice scallop, the honey smoked trout with a surprise foie gras top was maybe better. The mushroom cavetelli did make an an appearance,
before duck and steak, Cheese and then chocolate desserts. Great selections and pairings of wines, or just follow my wife’s’ lead and sample the champagnes. Over on south street it takes some focus to go there, but it’s always worth the trip
Somehow the place has lost some of its magic. The wine list is still spectacular, and the ambiance is better than the old location, but the food has come down a few notches. Wish they could recapture the quality of the menu of years past.
Wow! What a lovely French-inspired experience at Troquet for lunch today! Started with delicious creative drinks (both soft and not), and crusty warm bread. Perfect French onion soup and luscious tomato bisque. Amazing salads -- kale/ grain and salmon -- as well as crispy fresh falafel wrap and flavorful, tender short rib. Great fries, too. Rich, warm chocolate cake and decaf coffee was perfect finisher. Truly a special way to add to our Christmas celebration. Tres magnifique!!
I don’t know what’s wrong with this place incredibly inconsistent. One day you’re blown away the next day you’re blown away about how terrible it is. Maybe it’s seasonal help.?? Incredibly inconsistent and my last experience was negative!
In all fairness I’ve had some great lunch is here clearly it’s just a problem with consistency in on the 23rd all the staff were rude and slow.
Found this via a quick internet search an we were not disappointed. Our server Rick was very friendly and he also helped with the wine selection. Food was fantastic and their wine list is incredible. Highly recommended.
the best food and wine combination restaurant in Boston.
Excellent service and superior wine selection. Raw bar was very good and cheese selection was very good. The bar area was vibrant unfortunatelly loud music spilled into the dining room
Our server Olga was outstanding ! This is our second time st your restaurant/ food, service and wines were fantastic!
As always Chris was very good at helping us find a wine that we enjoyed so much that we had two bottles. The food is always good. The pasta with lobster was a little too sweet for me.
We had a special occasion to celebrate with a friend. A babysitter did not work out at the last minute and we ended up having to include our two 10yr old boys. I was initially a little concerned. But it worked out perfectly. The waiter and staff did an incredible job of making us feel comfortable and the boys got to try Chocolate soufflés. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions, dates and family celebrations. The menu was lovely (but not overwhelming) and included options for all kinds of palettes. The wine pairing and recommendations for adults were incredibly helpful and allowed us all to relax. It was an excellent opportunity to teach our boys how to behave in a high end restaurant without the pressure of having to know all the rules beforehand. We are really thankful for the kind staff and our experience at Troquet.
The service was fantastic! We were super late to our reservation and the staff did everything in their power to give us an excellent meal in the short time we had before our play started. Our waitress was simply delightful and the food was absolutely delicious!
An absolute pleasant dining experience! All of the little extras (that you rarely see in restaurants these days) were a plus! The dishes were inventive, bursting with flavor and looked like a work of art. The space was warm, cozy and romantic.... we could actually hear ourselves during conversation. The wine list is second to none....enjoyed a German vintage 1976 Riesling! Our dining experience could not have been better! We will be back! Thank you!
Fantastic food beautifully served. Duck was amazing. Steak as well. Great server.
My fist visit to Troquet but is definitely NOT my last. We had an amazing dinner, the creativity is superb,
the flavors, all preparations were wonderful. The wine list is one of the best in the City. The staff is knowledgable, helpful and professional. What's not to like, we are still talking about it with our friends.
Ordered 5 course for 2
Amazing- loved every course
