The Valentine's Day dinner was delicious service was excellent and Call courses were beautifully presented
Lovely, elegant room. Excellent traditional menu, although not very extensive. Altogether, however, this is not good value. The wine list is pricey, and the entrees averaged around $40. The reason to go here isn't the food so much as the elegant atmosphere and its proximity to the theater district.
Restaurant week menu was not worth the price. Not sure how the menu is on a normal day, but it seems overpriced. Also, the restaurant is a room on the first floor of a hotel and seems more catered to hotel guests than outside visitors.
Girls night out for restaurant week... great menu for restaurant week with several options of main course with three dessert options. The mixed drinks could be heavier on the alcohol but that is a personal preference as it had great flavors.
Booked Triomphe for Restaurant Week pre-theatre dinner with my granddaughter. The food was just okay and the price was exorbitant for what we got. It cost $140 for two -- including tip but WITHOUT ANY WINE OR DRINKS, except for a cup of tea and a cup of coffee. Cannot recommend. Sorry.
Old fashioned elegant ambiance and wonderful service in a great location. I recall loving the food, but had not been back for several years, and now found it good, but not great, and incredibly overpriced. Ditto for the drinks.
Based on other reviewers, we chose this for a birthday dinner during NYC's Restaurant Week. It was marvelous in every way and we'd definitely go back during another visit to NY even if it wasn't restaurant week!
We enjoyed our visit here during restaurant week. The dining room is cozy and a reservation is a must. The service was very good and we were never rushed. The restaurant week menu was a bit limited in main course choices.
First time here- pre theater and it was also restaurant week- small pleasant atmosphere and dinner was delicious. Had drink at bar first- staff friendly and professional- enjoyed it! Will book again!
My friend and I enjoyed our lunch gathering in Triomphe very much. Triomphe has very comfortable ambiance. The food was delicious. The services were great. The less noisy level was perfect for our conversation.
We love the Iroquois hotel and thought the restaurant would be alike: charming, elegant, delicious, value for money.
We found the deco was pretty basic, the food was ok but not great and the price was discouragingly high. Disappointed!
It was restaurant week. They sat us in a small, quiet room, not the main dining room. There was only one waiter taking orders and no effort or conversation on what could be a special experience.
Bread superb. Short rib juicy. Decor and ambience fittingly suave. Neighbor bit noisy but tolerable.
My friends and I enjoyed everything about our three course meal!
serve too slowly
Better have more employees
kithen cook more quickly would be better
We arrived for a 5 pm reservation and they appeared annoyed we were there and not ready to seat us. The waiter was abrupt ie did not ask how we wanted steak done , did not enquirer as to whether we needed to leave for a show, did not bring wine list when requested. The food was mediocre and required extra salt for any flavor. Bad vibes. Bad attitudes( except one helpful waiter). Over priced. Unpleasant. I wish I had not gone there and never will again.
Some of the portions were very small. Atmosphere very attractive but food just so-so.
service is excellent. food is good
Too expensive to be that unmemorable. If you're going to charge $40-$50 an entree, average, it better be delicious. Unfortunately, it was only fine.
We love this place. The small, intimate dining room, unusual in the theatre district, is wonderfully quiet for conversation. The beef Wellington is to die for. Order it rare.
Dinner on 12/23 was a disappointment. It had been several years since we dined here, and we thought it would be a special treat before the theater. It was a mediocre experience. One of the votive candles on our table was chipped and cracked. The room was overly warm. We ordered an interesting bottle of champagne, but the label was so moldered and faded the waiter had to show me the back of the bottle so I would know it was what I ordered. Squash and mushroom soups were first rate, as was the kale salad with grilled plums. Main courses were disappointing, and they were barely warm. The sauce for the Dover sole was jarring with such a mild fish. The meat in the beef Wellington was delicious, but the pasty crust was just phyllo that was tough, leathery and tasteless. Green beans were undercooked (there's a difference between crisp and raw). Triomphe used to be a place where all the details were right, but this time it felt like they were just going through the motions.
We always enjoy dining at Triomphe for great food in an unhurried atmosphere. It is our “go to” place for pre theatre. Always gets us out in plenty of time. Highly recommended.
We were going to see the tree and Billy Joel
Even though it was a hike it was well worth it
My wife who normally eats like a bird had the tasting menu and each coarse was better then the next
I had the chateau Brie on n the risotto
Couldn't find a better meal
Will definitely come again next time we are in the big apple
Too few servers for full house. Had to pour our own wine for our last glass. Food was delicious however vegetables were cold and raw. Croquettes were cold while fish was hot. Sent back ...Took 1 hr for main course to arrive. Server took meal off bill. Didn’t have wine ordered. Mushroom soup and octopus was amazing as well as the Dover sole. I will try again i think someone in kitchen had to have called out...
We were looking forward to a friend reunion evening at a traditional French restaurant and
looked forward to the Dover sole shown on the menu. When we ordered we were told there
was no Dover sole. The Beef Wellington was not very tender. We will not be returning.
Awesome food. Quaint Cosy atmosphere. I highly recommend the Chefs wine pairing. I would definitely go back. Surprisingly the grilled octopus was my favorite.
If only the service were better, this would have been a highly rated spot. Perhaps the staff was stretched by a private party, but we never had water glasses refilled and general service was disorganized. Wine was opened and when the server was asked to change the glass because it was dirty, he disappeared for several minutes with the bottle and dirty glass reappearing and setting another table along the way.
By the way, the food was delicious and well worth a repeat visit.
The evening started off with horrible service, took 45 minutes to get a bottle of wine. Once they brought that out, the service suddenly improved, I'm thinking the waiter must have been caught up with a larger party when we first arrived. The food was impressive and the service contined to be attentive. Overall, a very nice evening.
Dinner was excellent with friendly, not overly, waiter. Expensive: $92 for one glass of wine and duck including tip.
The thanksgiving dinner was excellent. Good food. Good service . Nice atmosphere. Cocktails extremely poor, $25 dollar martini, onions and olives old.
