Too expensive to be that unmemorable. If you're going to charge $40-$50 an entree, average, it better be delicious. Unfortunately, it was only fine.

We love this place. The small, intimate dining room, unusual in the theatre district, is wonderfully quiet for conversation. The beef Wellington is to die for. Order it rare.

Dinner on 12/23 was a disappointment. It had been several years since we dined here, and we thought it would be a special treat before the theater. It was a mediocre experience. One of the votive candles on our table was chipped and cracked. The room was overly warm. We ordered an interesting bottle of champagne, but the label was so moldered and faded the waiter had to show me the back of the bottle so I would know it was what I ordered. Squash and mushroom soups were first rate, as was the kale salad with grilled plums. Main courses were disappointing, and they were barely warm. The sauce for the Dover sole was jarring with such a mild fish. The meat in the beef Wellington was delicious, but the pasty crust was just phyllo that was tough, leathery and tasteless. Green beans were undercooked (there's a difference between crisp and raw). Triomphe used to be a place where all the details were right, but this time it felt like they were just going through the motions.

We always enjoy dining at Triomphe for great food in an unhurried atmosphere. It is our “go to” place for pre theatre. Always gets us out in plenty of time. Highly recommended.

We were going to see the tree and Billy Joel
Even though it was a hike it was well worth it
My wife who normally eats like a bird had the tasting menu and each coarse was better then the next
I had the chateau Brie on n the risotto
Couldn't find a better meal
Will definitely come again next time we are in the big apple

Too few servers for full house. Had to pour our own wine for our last glass. Food was delicious however vegetables were cold and raw. Croquettes were cold while fish was hot. Sent back ...Took 1 hr for main course to arrive. Server took meal off bill. Didn’t have wine ordered. Mushroom soup and octopus was amazing as well as the Dover sole. I will try again i think someone in kitchen had to have called out...

We were looking forward to a friend reunion evening at a traditional French restaurant and
looked forward to the Dover sole shown on the menu. When we ordered we were told there
was no Dover sole. The Beef Wellington was not very tender. We will not be returning.

Awesome food. Quaint Cosy atmosphere. I highly recommend the Chefs wine pairing. I would definitely go back. Surprisingly the grilled octopus was my favorite.

If only the service were better, this would have been a highly rated spot. Perhaps the staff was stretched by a private party, but we never had water glasses refilled and general service was disorganized. Wine was opened and when the server was asked to change the glass because it was dirty, he disappeared for several minutes with the bottle and dirty glass reappearing and setting another table along the way.
By the way, the food was delicious and well worth a repeat visit.
